  1. I'm kinda hoping that heated screens for the MkIII L&K are only available from Skoda..........thus avoiding all that pleading with the insurance co. Not that I need one - yet.
  2. The entire Varioflex system as fitted is all a bit surplus for (I suspect) 99% of owners - I'd have much preferred the regular 60 / 40 system with a proper armrest and a backplate.
  3. 2 years on it’s still ****e - Skoda dealer says there’s nothing amiss with the pressure and the air-con system now used is the best achievable under the latest EU directives. For me the ‘rocket science’ mentioned above by the member from Tayside is to take our 11 year old Golf if it’s going to be warm…………..
  4. Some of 'em truly are bungling bodgers - I had one done a few weeks ago on my 11 year old Golf - put a right good scratch along the roof line and the screen itself isn't good inasmuch as in bright sunshine I can see what seems to be dust in the laminate.
  5. My kinda luck that too.........a time ago had a piece of debris flick up from the car in front and punctured my fuel tank, vehicle instantly cut out and 70 liters of unleaded (I'd filled up 10 miles earlier) had to be washed away by the fire brigade.
  6. I have a large Furniture Blanket under the boot mat covering the spare wheel / boot floor area, I think it helps..........
  7. Can you temporarily override it by pressing the accelerator?
  8. Had a little play around yesterday and apart from the usual satnav tantrums about being off route / turnaround / do a U turn / etc WAZE carried on as normal, no freezing or other problems and was quite happy to display all ‘info’ around me without any destination set. If only it was possible to get WAZE onto the virtual cockpit display………….
  9. Can’t be 100% but I’m sure WAZE doesn’t get upset if you go off route - not sure about the recalculating but I’ve never noticed it not.
  10. I have a 2019 model so the Speed POIs can be installed, however, there are so many of ‘em around my area the map can become a little crowded so I’ve deleted ‘em……….and to be fair, I’m not so much worried by the fixed cameras, it’s the mobile units that pose the greatest threat and they (more often than not) don’t feature in the POI lists. For me these days it’s WAZE all the way, even locally as not only are the fixed cameras marked the mobile units are updated in real time. A big shout out to all Wazers on Briskoda, thanks. 😎
  11. Yes, but that was a Japanese car and it was back when we were considered mature and sensible enough to make our own little life choices………it must have been a slow day for the EU Vehicle harmonisation office when they slipped that one in………..
  12. I’d imagine that would be a big ask and big money………..
  13. Also, gently pressing the accelerator to ‘assist’ in a speedier overtaking manoeuvre overrides the ACC too, once past the slower vehicle simply relax your foot……….with this you can get somewhat closer before you pull out too……….however, I would like to see an option to enable any slight excess speed to be shaved off in a gentle linear fashion rather than having the brakes applied, very tiresome on undulating rolling A roads?
  14. I occasionally drop the key into the door pocket and sometimes (not always) get the same ‘key not found’ message - the vehicle is happiest when the key is in the centre console- though I, and many others would argue, it would be best in the now rarely seen ignition slot…….
  15. How much £££ deposit have you put down and I assume you are expecting to get it back in full?
  16. The bold heading from the Skoda handbook reads 'Deactivate Keyless Locking' - to my mind that should read 'Deactivate Keyless Unlocking' inasmuch as going through the blip to lock and touching the sensor within 5 seconds is all about preventing you using the Kessy to unlock, you have to use the blip.
  17. I’d have thought (to avoid confusion) that first section should be headed ‘Deactivate Keyless Unlocking’ ?
  18. How does this extended wait of unknown length work if you decide the wait is becoming unreasonable and you want out / to pass on the new motor - can you just tell the dealer you wish to cancel and get your deposit back or is there a procedure?
  19. Is ‘coasting’ on all models / engines now then, even the 2.0 petrol Sportline versions?
  20. Speed of the lights?
  21. Your own music selection?
  22. I’d have had the spare wheel kit out of the GTI and put the inflation gunk and pump in its place……..
  23. I had one to help me with my first car in 1972 - excellent book, saved me £££'s I didn't have.
  24. My preferred method also, quite amazing how quick the vehicle drops the speed - I'm still bemused as to how the system avoids locking up though - either way, as you say, it's not for the faint hearted especially from higher speeds - can be quite nauseating after a few successive applications too.......
  25. I'm not worried by the plastic being drilled inasmuch as the plates I take off and store will simply go back into the same holes - it's when the monkeys drill the tailgate I get wound up, especially if there's dedicated fixings already there and the monkey is too lazy to measure...........
