  1. That has become a regular thing here in Nottinghamshire - roads that have been 40mph for decades are quietly reduced to 30mph overnight - none of the fair play 'NEW SPEED LIMIT IN FORCE' notices of days gone by. Another ruse that's creeping in around here is the moving / extending of village 30mph limits a few fields out of the actual village.............
  2. I always let the dealer put the new registration plates on and then change to my own private (pressed metal) plate after delivery. It's no problem to do the instant change over on the Internet. It saves me around £15 as I'm going to need the originals when I sell / trade-in. I do insist however that the plates are not fitted by drilling any metal on the vehicle.
  3. Just before Covid we had a trip to the Alps and before the trip I spent not inconsiderable time and monies sourcing and installing European camera data onto the Karoq. Well, not a complete waste of time but I wish I hadn’t bothered - very poor coverage / with out of date intel. Bottom line was, I came home to find a couple of German speed tickets and a Green / Environmental fine on the mat………..and I thought I’d driven well careful with my eyes wide open!

Indeed - I was looking at the prices of a Superb in Germany, quite a bit more than here in the UK. That Remainer doom and gloom prediction about car prices going up after we leave the EU doesn't seem to have come about...........
  5. Yep, especially in the sun / when it's hot.........I sometimes worry about the effort required that it might damage the struts.
  6. What.....! After reading your post I wrongly assumed it was the local tyre fitting shed, not the main dealer. Scandalous, I'd be making a big fuss and if they don't make amends I'd be on to Skoda UK customer services.......
  7. Well - I wouldn’t be using them again…………
  8. Very true 'vegit8' - not unlike when a passenger (wife) suddenly (at a busy junction or roundabout) blurts out something such as 'Look at those flowers, aren't they nice?', but the damage is done 'Look' is enough to set my heart rate higher 'cause in that nanosecond before the flowers are mentioned I've been swamped with a vision that I've missed something!

All depends how tall you are - without the 'pointless bit of rubber' many folk wouldn't be able to pull the tailgate down...........
  10. Interesting that the DVLA has this down as ‘white’…………I wonder, Does that mean wraps don’t count when it comes to colour of vehicles?
  11. Have you had the balances checked?
  12. I have to connect - disconnect and reconnect again to get the thing working - It used to work first time every time but not anymore.......
  13. Totally agree……..I’ve had this basic system on my VW / Skoda vehicles for 11 years now, always found it more than adequate.
  14. Words fail me, truly scandalous………..
  15. I think you'll find it's 25kg......cement certainly still comes in 25kg bags?
  16. Classic, straight out of the dealers go to bible - ‘101 Ways to Mislead the Customer’……..

My last trip was in the Karoq but the car didn’t do any settings adjustments - I altered the time and the ‘drive on the right’ business whilst enjoying the immigration queues…..
  18. I'm not convinced you get any extra hardware (other than a wiring connection in the loom) with the 'Tow Bar Prep' option...... Can't see there'd be any extra / uprated fan on the cooling system for the nominal £195 option? I do agree with vegit8 above, for the extra cost involved, these days it's worth the extra for a factory fitted OEM towbar.
  19. Remember I did this on an old motor so do your own research before proceeding on the Superb.
  20. I can't imagine a sensor would be making the creaking noise.........
  21. Into the air-con pollen filter box (it's behind the glove box - remove filter first) as the air is drawn past it'll carry the lube around the system.
  22. I cured a similar noise on a Peugeot climate system some years ago by spraying copious amounts of WD40 type lubricant into the air intake (after the filter) and operating all the various control options on the climate control. Whilst the car didn't smell too good for a few hours it did fix the problem. I'll add that the vehicle was only worth a few hundred ££ and the quote to take the dash out in an attempt to fix it was more than the car was worth - you might think differently with your 2017 vehicle..........
  23. Sounds like a flap struggling to open / close to me?
