No its an Opel Manta B Berlinetta , used to be a rare site on uk roads in the 70s then they brought out the Manta C which is the one used in rallying and the one most people associate with the Manta name .

Get an old MG , they cost peanuts to run and maintain , good fun to drive , feels faster that they really are , biggest bugbear is rust , BUT , this opens you and swmbo to having a little fun doing historic rallies , you dont have to be a Mikkola they are not about speed but timing .

Ive just sold my PD vrs after 87000 miles , the only problem i had was an injector failure which coincided with the recall so it cost me nothing , other than that it was a great car and i am now looking hard for its replacement . As long as you service correctly using the correct oil you should have no problems .

Basically do you want to get where your going , tomorrow or yesterday thats the performance difference

What wrong with a 1.2 octy , its a golf with a big boot , price should be cheaper than golf allowing a newer higher spec to be bought

Try putting it on the free adds like gumtree or preloved , i have just sold my VRs admittedly cheaper than yours advertised it Saturday sold it Monday . Have been searching hard for a low mileage replacement and 12 plates at dealers seem to go for between 12500>14000 depending on mileage , although some dealers are dreamers i saw an 09 L&K with under 20000 miles for £12000

I have just sold my VRs TDi which i enjoyed owning for 4 years and 75000 miles and now want a replacement , cant make my mind up . Does the L&K have more soundproofing than the VRs , i know it will ride softer but is it a comfortable ride . Are there any L&K owners out there to advise please Thnx

I used supermarket derv for 50k miles but switched to Vpower after car developed very intermittant hesitation on light acceleration , i did notice a difference after a few tankfulls , car felt smoother and more urgent in response also got slightly better fuel consumption , done last 40K on Vpower only never had hesitation problems again . As to DPF problems , my car does a lot of short runs 2-3 miles during the week and a blast up the motorway to the coast at weekends with no problems , car is running Shark remap and that was done at 20k .

Probably not, VAG build quality is good but the engineering seems very suspect, the list of major design flaws in engines, gearboxes and ancillaries that lead to mega repair bills is frightening, its not what I would expect from what is classed as a premium car company. I am currently looking to replace my 56 plate Octy tdi VRS which is coming up to 90,000 miles and which has been very reliable and fun to own, but , used low mileage Octy Fls are expensive and rare. I also think I may have been very lucky with mine in that the only problem I have ever had with it was an injector failure at 19,000 miles which fortunately coincided with the recall on Bmn engines , so it cost me nothing , seeing some of the horror stories here on Briskoda I might be pushing my luck in buying another . I will probably end up going back to Citroen , I know you will roll your eyes and think idiot , but my family have owned 10 over the years and all were very reliable , the only failure we ever had was a rear spring snapping on a C2 GT , My last Citroen was a Xantia hdi 110 which did 160,000 miles with no problems , Apart from service items the only parts I ever replaced were indicator bulbs when the yellow paint fell off and a set of discs and pads , it was even on the original clutch which was still fine when I sold it .

I bought a 4 year old vrs tdi with 19000 miles on the clock , had an injector failure at 21,000 , car was covered by Warranty wise who payed out for the WHOLE job no problem , they state in their t&c that they cover ALL the costs of a repair inc oil , gaskets etc , all i payed was the excess i had agreed when i set the policy up , was very impressed with them .

you cant do this with a nitro , very important on cold wet winters evenings . but if you thought they were fast for battery powered cars then check this out
