    Rain

I'm moving house later on today, could somebody please turn off this sodding rain:( :(
  2. Don't go getting kidnapped:eek: Neil
  3. Where are you off to? Still staying in the petrochem game? Neil
  4. We have to make our own. We wring out whats left from our whiskey bottles, mix it with the blood of a recently killed haggis, add a few crumbs of highland shortbread, briefly dip in a ginger hair and (I'm giving away secrets now) let it brew in a vat wrapped in a bonnie, wee tartan shawl whilst softly singing Flower of Scotland. This gives a fuel which is equivalent to super unleaded, 20BPL (bagpipe puff limit, the energy of the fuel is equal to the puff force of twenty average pipers). 15 BPL is the same as normal unleaded (don't add the ginger hair for this). He stays about 10 miles from one of the biggest oil refineries in the UK. Och aye the noo Neil
  5. Had the car serviced at Star on Saturday. Great facilities, work carried out well and a nice friendly chat. Half the price of the Skoda dealers as well. And Jim, Mrs P will still not give me money for a remap:mad: Neil

  11. Hello from Falkirk, you will have to get to the next Scottish meet (if we ever have another one) Neil
  12. I've been reluctant to post this up as I'm not really into slating but I have had pretty poor service from them TBH. 1. Was told when I bought the car service intervals were every 10,000 miles. If it had not been for Briskoda I would not have known about variable servicing. Thought this was pretty poor. 2. The mooing brakes. Had to do the chasing myself through Skoda UK who organised them to carry out rectification work. The first time it went in to get looked at they power washed the back discs and told me "it's OK now", hardly surprising with soaking wet brakes. 3. Decided to get the silver carpet changed for an anthracite one. Went to collect the car and found virtually every interior panel scratched. They agreed to rectify but damaged the glovebox lock trying to change it over to the new lid. This happened in May, I'm still waiting for the phone call to tell me the new lock is in. I refuse out of principle to phone them. Also drove out of the garage and the accelerator pedal stuck due to incorrect fitting of the carpet around the pedal area. Very brown pants moment that. They didn't fit the posts for the mats either. 4. Phoned to book car in because the passenger seat was sqeaking when someone was sitting in it. The receptionist suggested not carrying passengers. This may well have been tongue in cheek, but there ain't no smillies on a phone. 5. Any time I have seen the wokshop foreman drive a customers car, he rags the **** off it. So, no, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, the cars due it's first service soon and I think I will use Star Performance rather than a main dealer even though they're 45 miles from me. Neil
  13. Had a test drive in the above on Sunday, nice car, drove well, want one badly etc. The thing I wish to share, however, is about the chap from the garage who took me out. You know how most garages send you out with the salesman, not Chathams in Edinburgh, they send you out with Mike. Mike is a quite bloke, mid 50's and a nice smooth driver, sticking to speed limits in town, very sensible on motorway. Get him on the country roads and Jeezzuss this guy could drive. Absolutely hammering through corners, but always felt in control. Swapped over and I drove back to the garage. Turns out he is an ex traffic cop instructor who likes to show prospective customers just what the cars can do. He loves the new Octy, its displaced his previous favourite, the Fabia vrs. So if you're in Edinburgh with a couple of hours to kill, get along there and get a test drive, it's really good fun:thumbup: Neelyp
  14. Morning from Falkirk:wave23d: Used to spend a bit of time in Gala a few years back. Neil
  15. Been awake from about five, arrived at work now to do a few hours hard graft:rofl:
  16. Getting the bathroom tiled as we speak, getting charged
  17. I work as a contract instrument designer in the petrochem industry. Its a small company I do work for, the rates here are about £7 - £9/Hr less than I could get if I were to work in Aberdeen. The benefits are I'm only five minutes from the office and its a really laid back place to work:thumbup: Neely
  18. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/photography-photoshop/kawasaki-orange-octavia/55843/2/ Check this photoshop of an orange vRS, post 18. Looks ace with the black bumpstrips.
  19. A Hyundai Pony (1983) A bright orange one:eek:
  20. You must be a fair age Mo if you can remember Dixon of Dock Green on the telly before WW1:rolleyes:
  21. Its been a while since I had to get a car MOT, but you never seem to hear of cars actually passing with out any work required. Perhaps a trip to someone you trust would be worthwhile.
  22. And Goochie, give her one - we won't let on;)
  23. I've followed through on a number of occasions, but whilst annoyed, Mrs P has never seen fit to bin me:D :D
