  1. I haven't sorted yet due to crappy weather I will let you know what cures it (hoping) and as MOT is due next month I may have to look at it in works car park ........ under cover, Lol.
  2. Thanks Mike ........ One (yet another job) for another day next week then I think ............... Thanks for the help ............. Best wishes for a great Christmas.
  3. @MikeTheThinker Thanks .... Yes, Mk2 Mike. I've had led sidelights in for years (without issues) and for some reason I was convinced that the canbus did not cover these in my 55 plate. So .......... in further trials just now (removing the bulb and it not illuminating) it seems it does show up on the dash (with ignition on) Weird, as I know the illumination has been temperamental for a week or more now and never shown bulb out on dash before today's trials. I can switch the lights on and (the sidelight) will illuminate for a few seconds but then go off -(edited) Anyway, If you can elaborate on where I would find the 'earth' or what connections I need to clean up, it would be appreciated.
  4. Yes, recently noticed the NSF side light not working. (CanBus not affected by sidelights) I put in another bulb and sometimes it illuminates and sometimes it doesn't. ie, I might switch the side lights on and just the drivers side bulb illuminates ........ but if I then turn the headlights on the nsf sidelight will illuminate. Occasionally it may illuminate just on the sidelight only, but temperamental. IT SEEMS to be a switch problem ............ is this likely to affect JUST ONE sidelight ?????????? (I would have thought NOT ?????????? (I have the headlight out at the moment and looking at how to remove the switch, in the meantime any helpful replies appreciated. Thanks
  5. Not a stop / start battery, but I have had my S5008 096 fitted in the Octavia since November 2011...... Not good for them if they are regularly allowed to remain low on charge... In the really cold weather I put a trickle charge on it every now and then.
  6. Bugger ................ After all that turns out it needs Android 8 and my phone is only 7, Too young eh, Lol.
  7. @langers2k android Galaxy A5 so guessing google play store ??? Assuming Apple store is for Apple owners only ????? (I genuinely don't know, but logically would assume so). Thanks for your help and advice.
  8. Thanks guys ...... it has the Bluetooth logo on it. So therefore Nothing else 'smart' in my house .............. (No cheeky personal comments thanks, Lol).
  9. I will have to look into that John ..... thanks
  10. I have one of these bulbs as I rescued it as it was being thrown away at work. I think they cost a fair few quid. It does light up at least. Looks brand new. Anyway, I would like advice on a controller. Is it really as simple as downloading an App onto my phone ??? And would I need an account of any kind ??? I do not / have never used my phone to scan anything and do not download much (if not automatically, such as updates on my laptop.). I do not use the phone for internet use very much at all but if it is as simple as it sounds I would be daft not to. Any sensible / simple advice gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
  11. Possibly Dual Mass Flywheel starting to fail.......... Does your car have a DMF???
  12. I haven't chipped either of mine yet. Been pondering it though........ Two wheels empire and ebike tuner seem popular for the dongle's. Just needs to get the correct one to suit. These for my Vado. PEARTUNE 3.0 FOR BROSE SPECIALIZED SL 1.1 MOTOR – Two Wheels Empire Levociraptor Gen2 for Specialized eBikes with 2.1 or 1.1 Brose motors – EBIKE TUNER Different one required for my Scott / Bosch motor.
  13. Oh Yes. And I have fitted the Shimano 105 CS-R7000 cassette . Early days with only one ride but seems ok even with the original eKMC chain. It wasn't dropping down gears at first but seems ok now. The one thing not keen on .... SRAM gearing. Always had Shimano and without issues. The previous model had 10 SPEED Shimano but this has 11speed dram due to shortages I guess. Not a fan really. Shimano shifter way better with push pull rather than push push to change gears. And the NX derailleur springs are so stiff. Still love it tho...
  14. The controller is great design with little + & - buttons on the handlebar. 10 bars on the display for 100% and individual bar for each 10%. The circle ishows the mode. Eco, Tour (as shown) and Turbo.
  15. Happy to say I have started commuting again after a forced period of rest from the saddle. After a few thousand hours in total (over a number of years) sat with my right foot on the accelerator pedal and plastered to the floor in a (horrible) Transit van touring the Midlands and beyond, fitting kitchens, I get a lot of Sacroiliac (now I know what it is called) joint pain on my right side. Having to take cycling a bit steadier and less frequent and atm using full power mode most of the time. I overdid it last time commuting all week and doing a few outings on my mtb at the weekend too............ Pity as I love being on the bike. Bit annoyed as I lean't my new commuter bike against the car the other morning to turn and lock the front door. I realised it was risky as couldn't rest it on the tyre because of the mudguard, but thought it would be ok for the few seconds I was turned around. Thanks to a gust of wind, crash, over it went. Gutted, but luckily doesn't seem to have done any damage (other than that I cannot rectify, Phew....... It did break the mudguard bracket though and I had to take that off. (Nearly went in the car, Lol.) I won't do that again (he says) Lol. When I get on the phone I will post a pic or two up when more time. 😉
  16. Thank goodness for that, I might be able to sleep now, Lol.
  17. Well that was the correct one for your car pal. (as said, it was slightly different to mine). I guess you either need to purchase whatever has been advised (not my advice) Or just find a local Auto Technician to reset it for you. Take a few quid with ya ............
  18. @ADOKS13 This has slightly different instructions to mine ... this for facelift Check number 5 instruction ............. then number 6 Mine is non facelift.
  19. If it has cleared numerous times before but not working this time, I SUSPECT a fault with the trip reset button.ie the twist not contacting ......... Or the following post link and number 5 instruction
  20. A pic of your instrument cluster (dash) may help.......
  21. I always try to give way to traffic coming uphill if I can. And if you look well enough ahead, you usually can. I actually like what Ken says (in his first post) regarding a stream of traffic. In certain situations it makes sense to me to let them continue if they are already moving.......... I wish they could programme traffic lights to do this. I guess they COULD) As the amount of times I get stopped at the top of our road as the lights change to red. There's one car there ffs, I scream at the camera, Lol. So I have to stop for just one car ......... and then the other car has to stop, just for me sometimes. The timing of these lights could be so much better... Grrrrrr
  22. @ADOKS13 Good luck. What model (SPEC) do you have ie Ambiente / Elegance ????? And is yours Facelift ???? I am guessing that you have a basic service reminder and that you should be able to reset it yourself. I base this guess on the assumption that, if what you say regarding Nige's information is correct, then surely this would be mentioned in the manual...... And if it is a more complicated system then the notification would TELL YOU to take it to a dealer for resetting, no? I work on logic and common sense, and it works most of the time ......... (no offence to Nige) Again, good luck with it bud.
  23. @ADOKS13 If you have sorted it already, then cool ......... but this is what my manual says, for if you haven't. 1 : Switch off the ignition (obv's this has to have been on in the first place) 2 : Press the reset button of the trip counter for distance driven AND hold it down 3 : Switch the ignition ON and release the reset button 4 : Now turn the reset button to the RIGHT....... The service interval displays are reset ................... (or should be). IF this doesn't work, try the same immediately AFTER you have driven somewhere / finished your journey home maybe. I guess all actions need to be done reasonably quickly after each other. Hope this helps.
