  1. Unusual set up and different to my (sold in 2016) 2005 Audi A4 with Adaptive Bi Xenon's........ (So VAG group, but earlier) These DID NOT have an additional Halogen bulb for the Main / High beam. Xenon bulb (middle) alongside Turn bulb (outside) and switchable DRL (inside) You could hear the flap 'flip' when you flashed the high beam, and it was just a solenoid that pushes the flap up and a tiny return spring on it. Adaptive = left to right movement and Bi Xenon = lighting both the Dipped and Main / High beam. I know this for sure as mine failed it's mot due to a very tiny connector inside the light coming loose from an equally tiny PCB. I was annoyed as this only affected the high beam, which I never used or needed. The Dipped beam was fine. I managed to mend it but it was a bumper off job to get the headlight out, to work on. It passed it's mot but due to the movement of the bulb holder mechanism (Adaptive), it came loose again a few years later iirc. I think I mended it 3 or 4 times as it was very tricky trying to mend it with the only access through the hole for inserting the bulb. I did take photos ........ That tiny little blue connector. The other option was circa £1000 new headlight unit......... bugger that. I did need to 'fashion' a long screwdriver socket to insert down through the wing to unscrew a fixing at the bottom of the wing, holding the bumper on, oh yes, including wheel off and all wheel arch covers and undertray......... etc all just to get the headlight out. iirc you had to take the bumper off if you just needed to change the bulb. It may have been due to access at the back, with only access to the turn bulb IIRC.
  2. Swap the two bulbs, right side for left side, see if the warning goes to other side, maybe.
  3. Ok. Makes quite a difference to throttle response in my 1 series, from Comfort mode to Sport mode ....... Hope you find a solution.
  4. Are there not any 'Driving Modes' / settings on the vehicle. A similar mention the other day mentioned 'Progressive' and ' Linear' settings and seemed most, including me, use sport mode. Different vehicles though, different manufacturer for me. I mentioned that the car now 'Goes' when I press the 'Go' pedal.......
  5. Bendy lights ............. Love it, Lol. I assume correct name is Adaptive Xenon's ??? (It was on my A4) I hope you don't need a new headlight, or if you do, I hope they are considerably cheaper than the Audi ones were ..........
  6. Would they invite people that have already ordered one, for a test drive ....... If they want more sales then more likely they would invite people that Skoda think may be thinking of ordering one, for a test drive, no?
  7. ^^^yes, but .......... A vehicles fitted sound insulation and suspension set up regarding the prevention of noise travelling through the vehicle via the suspension makes a huge difference. You could have the same tyres but if a vehicle has good sound insulation and (i'm assuming here) suspension bushings that Isolate or prevent the noise travelling both through and into the vehicle, then this vehicles interior noise level will be much lower.
  8. Yes, lots of makers do this now, if i'm not mistaken. I was looking at the 128t 1 series and the 135i M Sport has the same 2l Turbo'd engine (just tuned differently (I think) Yes, I settled on a 118i and power is still reasonable. I would have chosen the next one in-between the 118 and 128, but there isn't one Lol.
  9. That would be Roadside Assist ........ They do 'UK Recovery' ............ Recovery to anywhere in the UK. https://www.lv.com/breakdown-cover
  10. @paco It wasn't assistance for his Skoda that was needed bud ..........
  11. Thanks man........ @EnterName .......... I'm under 50 ................. ............. or am I .......................... I can't remember, Lol.
  12. @nta16 No worries .......
  13. Thanks ........ If you look at the previous page you will see that I 'liked' two of your posts......... But if me simply querying what I think is incorrect information, makes you think I'm adversarial, well, that's up to you.
  14. @Andrew2024I'm guessing you are a little bit younger than me ........ just a little bit, Lol. Ironically, it is my Birthday today. Genuine.
  15. ^^^^ Are you sure that is what the Op is asking ......... they have stated that they have already seen listings that distinguish between the two..... So must have seen different part numbers already, I think, logically.
  16. If I am understanding your question correctly I think you have pretty much answered your own question, albeit with a slight uncertainty. The profile of the rubber on each side is the same ie wipes equally forward sweep and backward sweep. It is the only logic I can think of with you mentioning 'handed'. as assuming the blades would be 'flipped over' if the same rubber was used for both lhd and rhd vehicle's wiper blades. Please enlighten me if I misunderstood your question, as it is an unusual one.
  17. @Faciletigre ...... Just checking ......... Bluetooth is switched on on your phone isn't it. I ask as we have had very similar scenario's before and the simplest thing turned out to be the solution. I have no experience of the Bolero though, but just trying to help. And welcome to Brisky.
  18. And I would have thought softer tyres would be quieter than hard tyres, but IIRC there are many opposing opinions on that too.
  19. I guess you are going to get mixed reviews on EVERY tyre hat you look at, wherever you look at them. Tyres do give you a dB rating so if you can find one at 67dB then that should be about the quietest ......... HOWEVER I do not think you will find one with that rating in the size of tyre you are looking at. You may find some around 70/71dB but a lot depends on your car's own sound insulation and suspension set up very much. If you are lucky, you may just be in the size range to look at tyres with specific sound reducing technology implemented in it's manufacture. For instance https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/why-goodyear/soundcomfort-technology.html#:~:text=The rolling noise of the,big difference in noise levels.
  20. Ah, sorry, I think you did mention that earlier. I forgot.
  21. Hope you can get it cheaper......... Not sure how much mine is going to be this year as I believe all road taxes are going up by some amount...... Genuinely cannot remember how much I paid last year, I would have paid it on visa card and without going through my records, so not sure. Nothing I can do about it though anyway but my Insurance did go down almost £200 from just under £500
  22. That is good news........
  23. Sorry if this offends but I have to question this........ By whom, over the decades, have you been told that your battery has been good.......... (No one has ever told me my battery has been good unless I have asked for it to be checked......... and only ever once required, and it was fine.) You say 'when you check (yours) it wasn't', (ok)......... If you could check it yourself why would you ask someone else to check it ???????? just curious Also this is not a good statement ......... for longevity, batteries are not best charged to 100% every time........ And if storing them, should be 60 to 70% ish charge or thereabout.
  24. That would still make it an Approved Used surely giving you the Skoda warranty and breakdown cover though, no???? I got a years warranty and breakdown cover with my already 2 year old 'Approved Used 1 series'.....
  25. Have you driven the car a little, giving the error time to clear itself, or have you checked the manual or googled for a possible reset option....... (Would have thought iit would reset automatically tho )
