How many people do that catch with this?
Bit weird blaming EU guidance still isn't it? Never had an advisory for my tread depth here in Germany so can't comment on if they do that here. I can ask around though. IIRC tyres usually start life at 7mm for standard and 9mm for winters or with M&S mark so to give an advisory at the depth you mentioned seems OTT.

Laptop upgrade from Windows 8.1 and thoughts on Chrome OS Flex...
What @varooom said. As for the EEE pcs, It's worth a try but I suspect you'll have more joy with a Linux flavour such as Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

Diesel Monte's 2001 Skoda Fabia "Project vRSDI"
Aye the old fella was quick alright. Plenty of torque as well. Saw a couple of red faced Porsche Boxster owners faces at the traffic lights GP 🤣

Diesel Monte's 2001 Skoda Fabia "Project vRSDI"
Still the best car I've ever owned tbh. That pic is from my poor rattle can attempt if I remember right. The professional job was much better. GT lips are like rocking horse **** and have been for a long time now. It was a genuine Skoda body part. Oh, and it was a PD 154.5 if you don't mind 😝

Doppelgänger
All the Firesticks were bought in Germany. I do have an older UK bought one somewhere but that's not been used in a couple of years. I wonder if I closed my UK Prime account that would sort it? I don't really need it now it's a PITA to order anything from the UK. In between I've been checking and comparing the 'My Stuff' such as purchases and rentals and it's the same content on both accounts which is bizarre lol Well this is getting stupid now. Installed the Prime app on my German mobile, signed into my German Prime account, tried to watch Picard and it's telling me it's not available. Signed into my Prime account on my UK phone using a VPN UK server and I can watch it 🤔🤣 I think I need to be having words with Amazon lol Oh interesting. The German Prime account is showing me the series info in English rather than German.

Doppelgänger
Background; I have two Amazon accounts - a UK one that I set up years ago in the UK and a German one which was set up after moving to Germany a few years ago. Both have separate email addresses and separate bank accounts linked to them (one UK account and one German account) I also have two Amazon FireTV sticks - one registered to my UK account and the other to my German account. But, when I'm logged in to my UK one I can't watch (for e.g) Star Trek: Picard (content not available) OK, fair enough, that could be a regional block but when I swith to my German registered FireTV stick to try and watch Star Trek: Picard, I get the same message saying content not available. It was also released to watch in Germany yesterday. Now, here's the thing; I can log into my German Prime account on a laptop and watch Star Trek: Picard. (I can even log into my UK account with a VPN connected to a UK server and watch it on a laptop) and then cast my Chrome browser to a Google Chromecast and watch it on the larger TV screen. I just can't for the life of me figure out why I can't watch things on my German FireTV stick even though I'm logged in to my German account using a German router on a German network in Germany yet I can on a laptop? Are Amazon associating my German and UK accounts thereby giving me a regional geoblock or is something else, (and who know what that could be!), going on?

Headlight help
You can't find any on sale as they're as rare as hens teeth now. They were an option on some MkI Fabia's. As mentioned, you have the headlight washers fitted which is/ was an MoT requirement so are highly likely to be factory fitted. You can check by either Googling the part number which can be found on top of the headlight casing when you open the bonnet or from one of the codes on the build sticker which is under the boot carpet. There's a load of codes which can be deciphered online. I've used http://igorweb.org/equidec.aspx successfully in the past. If they're genuine xenon's you need bulb type D2S which are widely available.

Recent pics of your fabia for no reason, just stick em up!
I can agree with that. I've never owned a MkI estate but have owned two MkII estates including the Scout version I posted. I've always regretted parting with my MkI. I miss it's PD engine punch and it's 154 bhp.

Yes, you're right 🙄 To balance things out here's a couple of pics of my old MKI Fabia's I recently found 😆

Recent pics of your fabia for no reason, just stick em up!
It's not specified. The title is 'Recent pics of your Fabia for no reason, just stick em up'. For those more interested, it was built in late 2011 and first registered in early 2012. One of the very first (if not the first - long back story) non vRS Skoda's in a vRS colour.

Headlights.
I tried various halogens in my MkII in the past. Sadly (IMO) the projector lenses in the MkII with halogen's aren't fit for purpose. I went down the HID kit route in the end. Much better. No idea what the current UK regs are on HID kits though.

The Fabia vRS Review and Photo thread
Took this old beast out for a good run today. Built in late 2011, bought in early 2012. 51,000 KILOMETERS on the clock. One of the very first non vRS' to come in a vRS colour.

Škoda broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the ‘longest continuous vehicle drift on ice’. FAO @AnnoyingPentium You want me to open it and check (can't test it, obvs) it's all intact or would you rather savour the ceremony of the unboxing yourself?
