I'll just do mySkoda's. MkII Fabia Kombi sold in Hamburg in 2019. MkI Fabia 1.4 Comfort. Bought for £500 and sold back to previous owner (BossFox) for £500. I did do a lot of tidying up on it. MkI Fabia 1.9TDi Elegance. M favourite and wish I never sold it on. Did a lot of work on that.

Fair play to him. Sunday's are perfect for putting the hammer down as trucks are banned on the Autobahns on a Sunday. No idiot truckers pulling out at 79.7Kph trying to overtake the truck in front that's doing 79.6Kph I only maxed my Skoda Oxymoron once or twice. It's a novelty and aside from burning DERV too quickly it takes nerves and a lot of concentration. And the novelty soon wears off. There's talk about bringing in limits. Probably from jealous EV drivers who'd take a week to get from Hamburg to Munich if you add in max power all the way plus recharge time

Thanks, George. It was de-badged so no idea if it was electric and I never checked for a tail pipe It did have winter tryres on and if electric then many torques more than and ICE.

I've mentioned before on here (in another topic?) that in Germany they use a lot of Lada Riva's and Suzuki Jimney's for winter service on side streets etc but this is a first! No idea what a Smart Fortwo will be like ploughing

It's your car. If you're happy with it that's all that matters. Aside from the potential problem with the reg plate it looks OK.

Go to settings then click on update and security. O the right hand side of that page in blue writing you'll see OS Build and system info. Click that and you'll get a page like this below. You can then check when that build was released to determine how up to date you are and whether an update will be massive or just things like security patches etc

I didn't know Nissan had them but I use the curry hooks all the time in my old MkII Fabia Kombi and now in my Rapid. Pistonheads has a whole topic in praise of curry hooks. Page one even praises Skodas washer bottle cap but likens it to a she-wee https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1911024&i=80 Curry hooks are probably availabe on PHEVs, full EV's and other non ICE vehicles and will no doubt be discussed at length in future media.

We tried one, the 1.4TDi. Three pot diesel and it sounded awful, drove terrible and the interior and boot space was shoite. SWMBO likewise went for a MkV Golf TDi 140 in New river blue. That had some great features - the best being a VW branded bottle opener in the centre console for those drives home from the pub and you're still thirsty Or a magazine for Hydrogen cars called 'No Charge'. However that may cause some confusion at the checkout.

I suspect that chap's using written off BMW 330 motors for his conversions OT for a mo as it's on the same programme, The Mazda they tested was awful. esp for rear passengers in a crash. I remember a couple of bus lanes in Southampton that were only in operation from x time to x time. People were so afraid of getting a ticket they remained pretty much empty leading to unnecessary congestion. Surely it's not beyond the whit of man to have clear signage, perhaps even illuminated, to indicate when motor vehicles can use the bus lanes.

Chevrolet used the small block V8 from the fifties to the early 2000s. Similarly Skoda and many others have used the same blocks for years. Fitting modern ancillaries can get you better emissions, more power etc from an 'elderly' engine block. Seeing a lot of Nivas and Jimnys coming out of hibernation here now. They're the go to vehicles for winter service for ploughing/ gritting the side roads.

I had one on mine. No good for yours though so it'd have been a wasted journey (You have the wrong fog lights for it to fit)

I think the best you can get and remain 100% road legal are either Philips X-Treme vision +130 or Osram Nightbreaker unlimited. I'm currently running the Philips in my Rapid with standard halogen lamp units. A crisp white light.
