  1. Go to settings then click on update and security. O the right hand side of that page in blue writing you'll see OS Build and system info. Click that and you'll get a page like this below. You can then check when that build was released to determine how up to date you are and whether an update will be massive or just things like security patches etc
  2. Oooo this sounds interesting. Will there be a politics club
  3. I can see the stories now; 'Is your curry hook wi-fi connected to your infotainment system? 'Blutooth connectivity for your curry hook curry temperature sensor - don't get home to find a cold vindaloo ever again'. etc etc
  4. I didn't know Nissan had them but I use the curry hooks all the time in my old MkII Fabia Kombi and now in my Rapid. Pistonheads has a whole topic in praise of curry hooks. Page one even praises Skodas washer bottle cap but likens it to a she-wee https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1911024&i=80 Curry hooks are probably availabe on PHEVs, full EV's and other non ICE vehicles and will no doubt be discussed at length in future media.
  5. We tried one, the 1.4TDi. Three pot diesel and it sounded awful, drove terrible and the interior and boot space was shoite. SWMBO likewise went for a MkV Golf TDi 140 in New river blue. That had some great features - the best being a VW branded bottle opener in the centre console for those drives home from the pub and you're still thirsty Or a magazine for Hydrogen cars called 'No Charge'. However that may cause some confusion at the checkout.
  6. I saw that. Very interesting. I suspect that chap's using written off BMW 330 motors for his conversions OT for a mo as it's on the same programme, The Mazda they tested was awful. esp for rear passengers in a crash. I wondered if that's even legal to have a door you can't exit in a smash? I think so far the Enyaq has fared best in the team tests.
  7. Who knows tbh. I wonder if it'll just end up like reviews of Coffee machines or fridge freezers in Which? magazine with A++ to F energy ratings
  8. I remember a couple of bus lanes in Southampton that were only in operation from x time to x time. People were so afraid of getting a ticket they remained pretty much empty leading to unnecessary congestion. Surely it's not beyond the whit of man to have clear signage, perhaps even illuminated, to indicate when motor vehicles can use the bus lanes.
  9. I don't think Pilkingtons actually fit the windscreen. They're just manufacturers of glass.
  10. Yup. Something like thirty five or forty years IIRC
  11. Chevrolet used the small block V8 from the fifties to the early 2000s. Similarly Skoda and many others have used the same blocks for years. Fitting modern ancillaries can get you better emissions, more power etc from an 'elderly' engine block. Seeing a lot of Nivas and Jimnys coming out of hibernation here now. They're the go to vehicles for winter service for ploughing/ gritting the side roads.
  12. Seems to me the only one being rude is the bloke who's not moved on from his colonial past. 'Natives'? Really? He's got form for that kind of shiz. And for unnecesary wasting of mods time.
  13. No, no, no. The original 'Mustang Slayer' belonged to Mil who lived for a while in the Middle East IIRC. 'Took him like a King'
  14. Not sure. Dunno if the mounting points are the same.
  15. I had one on mine. No good for yours though so it'd have been a wasted journey (You have the wrong fog lights for it to fit)
  16. I think the best you can get and remain 100% road legal are either Philips X-Treme vision +130 or Osram Nightbreaker unlimited. I'm currently running the Philips in my Rapid with standard halogen lamp units. A crisp white light.
  17. Yeah I was just reading that myself. It seems if the headlight unit is marked with an ECE R99 certification, then HID's should be OK.
  18. Can you still use HID kits in the UK. I know the regs say 'conventional headlamps' are a no-no but what about for headlamps with projector lenses? I had a HID kit on my MkII Fabia and it was a significant improvement over the halogen bulbs that were fitted. Never failed an MoT with them either.
  19. More than likely. Like switching from bolts to rivets on the door panels.
  20. My 05 53 plate Elegance didn't have a lockable glove box either. But then mine didn't have electric rear windows. Maybe stopped in late 2002?
  21. You lock it when you get out of the car
  22. 55-3 page 1 though it's not a great help. Bodywork.pdf
  23. It's possible the cable might have stretched. It's a while since I had a MkI so can't be sure. Have you got all the .PDF's from the Workshop manuals?
  24. I caught part of that on iPlayer but dozed off It's on my list of catch up stuff. As an aside, Elon's putting up satellites at a fair old rate - smashing records even.
