  1. Do you think Skoda make the belt, idler pully and water pump? Get from an OEM manufacturer instead of being ripped off for exactly the same items.
  2. Vehicle was not "towed" in the manner you believe. It was a recovery truck then, not a tow truck.
  3. Think it was aimed at you but you had already said you have a Maxidot. I suspect they saw the "S" in your signature and assumed that was the model as they have no Maxidot.
  4. I had glow plug 3 fail and the things you read on the net about them being stuck in and breaking made me think twice about replacing it myself. But I bought one and sprayed WD40 down beside the plug a few days before taking it out, It came out with no problem but you do need a proper socket with rubber insert to grip plug as there may be carbon deposits on the end that need a twist and pull after the threads release. It came out so easily I did the other 3 without lubrication, much easier than petrol spark plugs.
  5. I don't understand that, who is it aimed at?
  6. And then proceeded to tow it!!!

There are a few roads without speed limits displayed on the screen.
  8. I have 16" on mine and there is certainly no lack of steering feel.

The clutch would be the first in line to suffer with the low down firing pulses not being smoothed as well.
  11. So if they are not good is that not a reason to avoid them and have the job done properly? Read what you have written.
  12. Who knows what the problem is but any in the know would have a dedicated kit installed not a by-pass kit.
  13. Is the Bongo on it's last legs? The Yeti is never going to be as good at camping as the Bongo.
  14. That sounds strange.
  15. Have you tried removing the battery positive lead for about 30 seconds and then reconnecting?
  16. Sounds like exhaust vibrating under load on the body or could it be the air conditioner pipes on the bulkhead?
  17. I pull it down on the edge of tailgate followed for last foot by a finger on wiper spindle. It is closing a lot better now tha it did 5 years ago when new.
  18. If the part number is the same it should be what you want, the suffix letter is changed with any updates of the part improving it or making it cheaper to make etc. So you want the latest suffix you can get keeping the same part number.
  19. Could it be exhaust the out of alignment thrumming on the body.
  20. I use Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30 Engine Oil that is VW 504 00/ 507 00 specification in my diesel and for 11 years in my 1.4 petrol Fabia before that. The cam belt change is at 5 years regardless of mileage and every 5 years after that.
  21. What is the oil temperature showing on the MFD when this happens?
  22. If it is that bad does it have reduced performance being in safe mode? It will not reduce the soot much even when up to temprature, it,s when and active regen kicks in that that happens.
  23. If you cannot see that without something like VAG DPF that is free and an OBD II scanner about £15 how do you know ""The lockdown played havoc with my DPF""? Are you getting warning lights on the dash?
  24. If you have an OBD11 reader and smartphone VAF DPF app gives you all information. The screenshot here was with a cold engine, the DPF changes colour when it is regenerating.
