  1. jaysus havent updated for a while.. 29th sept 1st Oct crackin the goal is hard.. weather bern a mixed bag of horrible isnt helpin... also fitbit not distance made it a disappointing effort
  2. it means the basic chassis is the same, so seat mounting points, and suspension connections, engines mounting piints etc are in the same places, but the cars are designed up from that differently. so, are they "basically the same car" yes and no. the basic underpinnings are same, but they are not the same in terms of weight and weight distribution over the axles.
  3. try getting a cooton bud / q-tip and dip it in some contact cleaner / isopropyl alcohol and clean out the aux jack. it may just be dirt. otherwise, start looking at how to strip the centre console to check for cable breaks to the headunit.
  4. i dont know if he did, but he hasnt been on in 6 1/2 yrs, so.... you may be waiting for a reply. anyway, if you are looking getting coilovers, make sure they are an octy rated setup. the weights are different to a golf, esp the rear, and it wont sit right.
  5. thats when you get the angle grinder... or at least a blow torch for some warmth
  6. thats that the plusgas is for init??
  7. @Wino is a dab hand at rapid pt numver checking. he'll confirm im sure
  8. im gonna go with its colour interactions on the news cameramaking it look double red
  9. the rear washer corrodes itself from the inside. likely that the previous owner pulled the fuse to stop the tesulting electrical gremlins. can get a replacement unit if you want. the boot trim tends to fall off last owner possibly binned having got fed up of putting back in sounds like the drivers door lock mech is knackered and was "solved" by disconnecting it. ebay for a replacement unit, and theres a few good guides on replacing them deanvrs did one in the guides section.
  10. so... you shouldve taken the advice from June then??
  11. 36 laps destroyed the wheel bearings, and only minced 1/2 a set of brakes because he had the driver aids turned off, wouldve been gone the backing plate if they were turned on. thats an impressive amount of damage inflicted in such a short time.
  12. pretty sure hell need an hgv license along with the firearms license
  13. any of the chinese ones tbh, theyre all the same. just make sure the pt number matches for the door position.
  14. i passed a column of these today.. should be able to handle the rough stuff? its a very unusual thing to have in your rear view mirror....
  15. i would cinsider rocket to be a red colour also, so it being green is a bit weird. i got a blue one too, so i can wear for a few runs, then wash and have a second waiting in the drawer i was gonna get the get vayper ones, but they has none in stock in size. i went small after measuring myself again a couple of more times, and im glad, id say the med wouldve been baggy so less effective
  16. its been discussed a few times how people are worki g harder working from home and productivity is up massively compared to most office environments. plus... you have a poppet! new babies are able to bend the fabric of space-time, so tou think you been doing something 5mins but its been an hour...
  17. @ColinD. thanks for the tip! Alpkit Koulin base layer tops. really comfortable, snug fit, good price, teeshirt over it was alot less sweaty than usual. trail tights.. really snug, but comfortable. i like the thigh pockets, hold the phone fully immobile during the run so not slapping off my thigh. last night was the coldest run ive done so far, but my torso was just lovely and comfortable. hands were cold during the outward leg. legs.. could feel the cold air coming through, but it was alright since i was moving. need to clean that mirror.....
  18. i couldnt face a run wed night, or friday night. something about 5 hrs broken sleep and 11 hr days out in the wind cold and rain put me off wanting to go running.. so i went tonight, in my new Alpkit base layers. ill do a post on them tomorrow. not a brilliant time, but given ive not been out since Monday and that im knackered anyway i was happy. it was a solid run that i was comfortable with the pace i held throughout, so it was grand.
  19. since i thought of that, i just a vision of some lad going in, paying 18k for a "midsize saloon petrol" key. hoping for a vrs 245 and being at the gate on the way out in a base spec 1litre focus saloon
  20. i would love to see just a big 50gallon drum with all the car keys in it. no reg tags on them, just all the keys together but that gave me an idea.... just separate the keys out into different barrels based on size and fuel type, with descriptions of whats what so all the hatchback diesels are together in a barrel, all the electrics etc. then you open it up as a treasure hunt. pay lets say, 10k for a hatchback diesel key, then you rummage in the barrel blindfolded and pick one. if you can then find that car in the storage facility you keep it you get the type of car you wanted, cheap, but mightnt be the spec or model you expected.
  21. the back also looks really unbalanced. i can get over the off centre number plate, and boot handle, but i was behind one yesterday with a towbar and i could get rid of the feeling that the hitch and its cutout in the bumper looked like it was off centre by about 3 or 4 inches. even though it wasnt, it just looked all sideways. its also clearly eaten all the cgrustmas cake every year.. its massive now! must be bigger than a circa 2006 RR Sport, possibly even a Full Fat of the same zera!
  22. the first pic in that link, the m4 , on the right, the back end looks like a kia optima!!
  23. id go along with that. my FL mk2 Octy is faded the exact same way since before i bought it. i even asked the exact same question as the OP about there being an led in there somewhere mine is so barely there it really looks like its an etched bottom surface for light diffusion.
  24. @ColinD Alpkit Koulin base layers ordered. thanks for the tip and they curently have a spacesaver sale on incase you need any trail equipment
