  1. contact a local scrote who will open it faster and doing less damage than a locksmith?? probably cheaper too...
  2. at least they were equal though.. ive thought about it... and i guarantee they are those 1 in 599,999 who will have low oil thats 5yr old, tap water in the coolant, and never done the timing belt but the engine will never miss a beat 🙄
  3. i didnt even let myself think about that...
  4. for some it is, others dont care or noticed. i was doing my tyres pressures one evening, put my 1euro in and had mine done with 3mins air going spare. a woman was fetting into tmher car along side me and i asked did she want to check hers since its was wasting money. she said thanks. it was a gen 1 focus saloon. the tyre pressures were horrendously awful. one front was 12psi, the other 25. backs were just as bad... she and her husband were oblivious...
  5. got a call back from the consultant this evening. hes fully booked until early December but is hoping to make extra space - he runs 3 clinics. seems theres been an abnormal increase in enquiries!
  6. its true. if you take the number plate off a newish A4 or A5, the grill is probably as big the m4, its the way its split vertically makes it look strange.
  7. utterly off topic but the best boots by far i have ever owned were Meindl Islander Pros. they lasted 9yrs, i never had wet or cold feet wearing them including 2 winters in aberdeen... they were chucked when the sole peeled off one of them after 5 hrs or paintballing on my stag weekend. i wrapped the lace around it to tie it back up and soldiered on another 90mins before we finished up.
  8. as above, theres a joint in the pipe right under the changer.
  9. one of our plant hire contractors recently purchased and has modified 3 unimogs to be rail mounted. along with a series of 3 way tiltable rail trailer for bringing large quantities of ballast to site when required. 2 of the Mogs have individual towing capacities of (im told by one of operators) 800Tonnes in rail mode. and they can be driven by remote control from outside the cab
  10. swmbohas had enough doen below the last few yrs, and more planbed already, so being able to skip one trauma (tube tying) is at least one easing..
  11. we had a mis carriage before each of our 2's creations, so yeah, pregnancy was incredibly stressy the first time around. second wasnt as bad, but 2 csections, and all the hassle my wife has been through since the second one without a feckin pandemic has been really difficult. its nice to hear from some people who have made the decision too helps reinforce the belief its the right thing.
  12. ones enough 😂 it is reversible, but i dont envisage rhat happening
  13. its the health hib, this is a health question. As some may know, following the arrival of Spud jr in Feb (feels like a couple of weeks but a different timeline ago!) my wife has been through a medical **** storm that still isnt fully resolved. we made the very real decision during the worst of it in March that we cannot have another pregnancy, as the thoughts and fears of repeating the events of thos first 2months is traumatising. straight up as a result of this decision, along with the being knackered from young baby and ongoing symptomatic fallout my wife suffered, and our own paranoias about potential pregnancy have led to our sex life being pretty non existent - letting the fears get in the away of anything else and worrying about failure rates of contraceptive methods... so, i have rung a clinic to enquire about getting a vasectomy. no needle anesthetic and keyhole entry, very short recovery time of a couole of days and costs less than than 500quid. has anyone else had this done? what are the feelings about it post event?
  14. hi, i stand to be correct3e, but i dont the Superb seats will fit? pretty sure they have different mounting points for the guide rails onto the chassis.
  15. well the TFL number is 0343 222 2222 the number given 0343 222 3331 is a registered scam call number... https://who-called.co.uk/Number/03432223331
  16. 4x4^2 ... does that mean it has 64 little wheels??
  17. Sunday morning, 655am. darkness into light, was lovely. the time above made it even better. today was earlier start, still dark when i got home. problem though.... when i get up, swmbo wakes up also, and cant get back sleep, which isnt ideal, given the still not 100% health situation. That and any time from 530am either or both of the Spuds are liable to wake up too. but night running has the problem of me ending up on the endorphine rush at 11pm and so cant sleep... so i may have to look at splitting the programme... into sma set day routine rather than the current "every second day" which is a fortnightly cycle to - 6am runs Tue and thur 9pm run Fri and Sun ibthink i can work, gives the possibility of a lie in to happen at the weekend..
  18. if its dead via the loom, it might not be locked (as in it mightve not locked but just wont open) did you carefully count the threads the ribbed end of the outer bowden cable before removing and refitt with the same count visible? did you test the mech several times with a screwdriver to close the latch before you closed it? try leaning a bit on the door panel just beside the handle to push the metal in just a bit and pull the handle at the same time. if the cable is over tightened this will relax it just a smidge and might allow it to release.
  19. *bump i seem to remember someone posting about changing the region to Australia?
  20. you need an obdii bluetooth dongle aswell...
  21. Change of Tactic Alert!! im due my run today. but, i decided last night before bed - If one of the boys wakes up and has resettled before 630am, ill go for my run in the morning. 542am - spud sr starts his dawn chorus.. "are you ok?" "i need a wee" "come on so" he was asleep again by 555am. so, i stayed up, got geared uo and left the house at 615. Target- if i dont have ti stop and walk ilbe happy as ive never done early morning running. also, id left my headphones in the study, which has a quite loud door handle, so i was going au naturale sound scape.. 5seconds slower than Mondays PB... shocked is an under statement
  22. you need an obdii dongle to plug into the diagnostic socket on the car. then insrall the carista app on your phone. the fob closing can be turned off or on. tbh im thinking of turning it off, as i sat on my key recently while doing an evening feed with our newborn and opened all my windows. it pi55ed rain all night.. seats and carpet were d soaking the next morning. it can be a great INconvenience option...
  23. so then a couple of more runs.. being tired was a bit cruel... but last night... i was calving when i hit stop! i felt over the first 2k it was a good pace, but i didnt look at it until i was hitting the last 200m. side note, that was 5 runs in the same gear. no sweaty stink off them and my tshirts are less sweaty taking them off after the run too. so yes, Alpkit gear is worth the investment!
