  1. this morning... i had a sort of impromptu running partner for about 500m... another runners route overlapped mine for a bit and we were about 5m apart she was leading, and holding a decent pace, i was doing well to keep up. calves and shoulders say shes been running longer than me.. and her much springier gait. i also tagged on an extra 400m going around the block instead of up the steps by a bridge so 6. 4km today, every little helps!
  2. Friday morning, was a nice run, really damp though, freezing fog... i also managed to get out 10mins earlier than usual today was a nice mild run, little cool and very dark, sun still down when i got home.. im really liking the making it longer, esp as im not stopping and walking a ***** to get home im probably back at the house quicker than i was on my more recent 5km route as the 6k brings me all the way home. downside... no cool down period so i get back into the warm house and flop sweat for 20mins getting spud sr's lunch and breakfast ready
  3. it may be very tight to fit your adapter into the the hole in the panel to reach the port. the Bluetooth dongle i got is slightly too wide for the access panel and i had to break off part of the edging around the obd2 port, and it still needs a hard shove to get it in.
  4. Luk or Sachs do both - someone didnt do both on my previous car and the subsequent dmf dying wounded the clutch meaning i had to do both... instead of neither... luk or sachs you wont go wrong, not sure which if either is oem just get the full kit from one itl work out cheaper
  5. 1u is a mk 1 octy 1996 - 2004 (2010 in taxi spec 1z is a mk2 octy - 2004/5 - 2013 edit extra nugget of info... a 2 after the letter is a hatchback and a 5 is an estate. ie 1u5 - mk1 octy combi 1z2 - mk2 octy hatch.
  6. our pool fleet is worse... any speeding fines are sent to the lease company as the registered owner, who then forward to our fleet management dept who eventually send them to the relevent department's regional manager whose name is listed against the vehicle, who then has to ask everyone with access to the vehicle who was driving at the time and location of the offence for the lease company to be informed, via our fleet manager, so they can get the issuing authority to redirect it to the offender...
  7. i had a rummage down the back of the couch too Happy legal drinking Birthday Brisky, I only missed the first decade
  8. leylandi should be on the invasive and noxious species lists
  9. so, yesterday thank god was a day off any way, the lack of sleep would made any running an act of torture.as a reault i slept well last night, though the body needed another 4hrs sleep this morning when the alarm went off at 635am.. i was tempted to stay put in the cozy, warmth. but i got up and went. this morning was ruddy freezing, the irish freezing where its about 5deg, but 99% humidity so it feels like its -22deg. itwhen youre passing the early morning walkers with 2 jumpers, hats gloves scarves etc on and all youre wearing is a base layer and a teeshirt, doubt they think im insane i took the first km a bit handy as i was feeling the tired, total time +1min on my best effort for 6km but i dont care, i made myself do it when i didnt really want to, so im happy
  10. mmm wonder is that from people getting the traffic related captchas wrong...
  11. its a trend everywhere i think. i dont have stats for over here, but - anecdote alert - my current town has .. 10 open fuel stations, only one is "independent" but they also own one possibly 2 of the franchised fuel stations in town. another 2 franchised ones are also owned by one family, and i can count at least 3 closed ones that are now used as second hand car sales forecourts, and one motor factors that once upon a time also had pumps..
  12. i like your honesty about it. it is very easy to only report on how brilliant a thing as expensive and allegedly fantastic as a Tesla is day to day, and gloss over the quality problems.
  13. Rollin' coal for a few miles
  14. and wholesale rate buying power of the big chains. independents probably made up a big chunk of market share in the 60s but they cant compete with Tesco et al. in terms of volume purchase thus higher price on the pump and peopme can and will shop around for fuel.
  15. well i got another call from the doctor... 18th Dec provisionally booked for the job to be done. well i got another call from the doctor... 18th Dec provisionally booked for the job to be done.
  16. nifty video. looks like a neat enough solution too, given the options. swmbo has a tendon partially torn away from the bone in the rear of her shoulder. only option she was offered a few yrs ago was cortisone injections and needling... it isnt bad 95% of the time now, unless she does something unusual or drives a car with a french gearbox (the amount of clunky play in the gear change aggrevates it.)
  17. 632am - beep beep... alarm, off. 634am - sitting on bed turning off house alarm via app. 636am - "mamamamamamam" from next room.. spud jr is awake 🤦‍♂️ so, i change him, feed him, he doesnt want back asleep, so i give up at 745, accept im not running. swmbo arrives into kitchen and says " shur go now its grand, ill get Spud sr ready for school" so, 755am - 6km in 30m 3secs! i wouldve cracked 30mins if i hadnt need to almost stop 3 times to cross the road due to traffic m, dont have that issue at 650am!
  18. so last friday morning was a dsgusting run. i was tired, hadnt slept great, really couldve skipped it, wasnt in the form and it showed... even the weather was that horrible humidy evaporating rain sticky mild feeling that makes you feel like sweating even if its a bit cold. it put me off, and i wasnt in good form after it. but after a weekend off i. got ip this morning and went. notice anything?? i was approaching the end location of my 5k route, and i was still feeling good, so said sod it, if i run this way, and carry it home, id say itll be near 6k. i had to do 2,laps of our cul de sac to close out the last 150m, but i felt really really happy, shagged tired, but happy! first time running 6k, and to do it nearly sub 30mins was a massive bonus gonna do it again tomorrow morning, see if i can crack the 30 min barrier
  19. i havnt taken much notice of the time to get to temp tbh i also have the 1.6cr, but i would expect it to be slower in "chilly" weather. irs worth noting though... the temp sensor in a mk1 diesel had 2 outputs - one for the dash, one for ecu. the dash sensor tended to fail, mine didnt display above 70deg unless i was pointing downhill stuck in non moving traffic for a few minutes for months. i dont know if this is the same on on 1.6, but if there nothing else wrong, id say your fine..
  20. f'k all at a guess must have a look at mine!
  21. interested too... though id like one that does sleep tracking too
  22. how is the oil looking? as you said the coolant low warning light came, if it is the oil cooler, and oil is in the coolant while the coolant level drops there then also is coolant in the oil...
  23. holy hell, you joined in 2008 and it took 12 yrs to make a post????? that has to be an award worthy record
  24. if i had to guess its a cable clip, from the loom going to the speakers, or maybe a guide for the pull bar from the internal door pull to the lock mech?. it has 2 little barbs on the wider side (bottom in the end profile pic), so they clearly hold something thats pushed into the gap. the narrower side (top in your end profile shot) looks like it hooks into a slot somewhere. i havnt a door card off mine yet to visualise where it should be, sorry.
