thanks. i didnt realise the panel acted as the regulator too!! godamn it 🤦‍♂️😅 i thought it was just a metal panel instead of the plastuc sheeting they used on the mk1 which, while terrible in one way, was a lot more accessible for working through (as long as you took the time to re-seal it properly) thanks for the links, they may be getting another sale added to their listing

i have to do this too at some point... did you use the rivnuts to put the door panel cover back on too? thats my main thing... i dont have a rivetter, and i dont feel like buying one for one job. that and i read somewhere here that the regulator rivet (i think) is a stainless steel one for the load it carries? maybe? its a while ago..

definitely not the skin on skin friction is also annoying...

oh my god the f#&$^g ITCHING!!!!!!!! its really starting to get a tad irritating.

as above the dash panel surrounding the port is stupidly tight. bit of trimming (possibly both the dashboard and the dongle) and it will, with persuading, go in.

there isnt an assist system its just a phrase im claiming i was actually helpful in fixing your car

well done, im claiming an assist on it given i had suggested there wasnt a leak, that it was loss through the over pressure blowing out the expansion

if there is anyone interested in any detail on the procedure let me know, im happy to share. i told one of my buddies earlier on i got it done today and he has asked a load of questions, as he and his wife were told a 3rd child could cause serious damage after the difficult births she has had. he had considered very briefly this option, but not in any great detail. he is now giving it a much more thorough consideration.

5+hrs since all done.. still no pain medication. im kinda walking from the knee just to minimise shuffling at hip level and taking it slow standing and sitting but otherwise grand.

i have my sample pot and all ready for action in a couple of months. home now, no pain meds yet, just feels like.... someone gave them a slightly excited squeeze. a very dull throb. other than that nothing to report and the 90min drive home in traffic was fine

it may be the sensor under the seat. if there was something under it and it was wound down all the way to the lowest postion and got squashed it can throw an error, or dislodge the cable. it may be unrelated to the horn..

when you say your airbag doesnt work, is it that the light stays illuminated?

i have a little hessian bag full of cat litter in my car all the the time. lob it on the dash at night and it makes a huge difference.

if its running that long before stopping then its heat related. swap the fuse for a known good one and see what happens

ahhh a decent night sleep. alarm went off i didnt want to get up but i did. legs were heavy heavy heavy so the time wasnt great but... 10km. the last km climb is tough :(

so spud jr wokeat 4am Tuesday and didnt go back to sleep until 7am.. so no run was had. got ti bed and sleep at about 2330.. god i was tired. ge woke at 3am!!! i got back to bed again at 415am and alarm went off at 625. i felt sick... but i dragged myself out and despute the promise of heavy rain and yellow wind alert i did an 8k in a leisurely 42mins. couldve pushed to 10, but the weather was horrible and i was knackered. still am. but at least i got up and out, skipping 2 in a row wouldve been worse. hopefully tonight/morning will be better and ill get a 10 done, same friday before my procedure Friday afternoon.. hopefully be runable again on monday to complete next weeks stint of 4x4 dec strava challenge

okay, i thought from the title this was going to be about some dodgy back street garage defrauding people by claiming to do work that isnt done, or some such thing. i still dont see what the warning is? if someone cant by internet magic instantly diagnose an issue from a description like "its making a strange noise when i do 'x' " are you going to come to their house and slash their tyres?? thats seems abit extreme. cars are complex. an issue can give a symptom that isnt easily related to the cause. eg my front window wipers wouldnt turn off on my old mk1 octy because of water ingress in the rear wash motor. the rear wiper and wash worked perfectly.... and the front end was fine on its own, but with both fuses in the back was grand and the front wouldnt stop. is that a directly related issue? nope. so it could take several examinations and tests to track it back to the cause in front the car nevermind over the internet. bit unnecessary to give out to everyone for not being magicians...
