New Tyres
I've always used "Tyre Shopper" when needing new ones, they seem to always have the best prices after researching every option. Definitely recommend a check on there when doing the research on prices. Prices do fluctuate a lot, for example I got 2 Eagle F1 asymmetric 3 (the ones Kamiq originally come with) for £122 each a few months ago, they're now showing as £156.99 each on tyre shopper. But ATS currently £142 each

Power Feed for Dashcam
Yeah I was surprised aswell, usually on previous cars I had them plugged into the cigarette lighter, but for the Kamiq for no reason just fancied it hard wired in, fit and forget. Then just happened to come across an article saying hardwired dashcams have to be declared as a mod, so immediately updated my insurance. Don't want any potential claim to be disregarded due to a tiny little detail like that. Plugging in via the USB ports sounds good, the ports thankfully are quite close to the main dash so shouldnt see much wiring.

Power Feed for Dashcam
Also just a little note, I had to declare my front/rear dashcam as a mod when I opted to hardwire it in, just an FYI for your insurance to be 100%

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
ah ok yeah very expensive if someone had no insurance Interesting to find my insurance is due for renewal next month, and noting down last weeks windscreen replacement as a claim (which didn't affect the ncb) increased the premium by only £13 amazingly.

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
Coincidentlally I've just changed my insurance which was due next month, their excess is £110. Seems they all vary (Have been with Chris Knott for a very long time, but for the first time in about 5 years their quote is more expensive than even go compare.)

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
That's the price I think if your insurance didn't cover the cost, did it not have windscreen cover? This is my 2nd windscreen replace (1st one was on my previous car) and it's always been £75 excess only which doesn't affect your no claims bonus.

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
Just for anyone interested if they happen to also have a Kamiq windscreen replacement They quoted the estimated install time of 2hours 20mins (to fit, and recalibrate the camera) - however today they took only 1hour with a further 15mins waiting for glue to dry a little. Can't attach any dashcams until 24 hours later as the wiring would stick to the windscreen glue otherwise. Good job done by Autoglass, and appears identical to the original.

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
wow yeah I'd be p**sed if that happened, how can they deny physical paper proof over the excuse of they've upgraded their systems, ridiculous And definitely was annoying to be looking at the chip repair, being right in the middle of my view, so don't mind at all for it all being replaced, just hope they do a good job. Have to wait 2 hours as they have to recalibrate the camera system aswell after, long wait in a tiny room zzzz

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
Ah sorry wasn't clear, so they've refunded me the excess I've paid which was £75 to get the windscreen replaced. What they should have done really, was the guy who turned up last March. He should have said it wasn't repairable, and I had to pay the excess for a replacement. When I found out the repair wouldn't pass an MOT purely specifically because of its location, I messaged the autoglass warranty team asking why repair it, if it's going to fail based on the location of the chip. But to save the hassle, I just rang them up asking to simply pay the 75 and get the job booked in. Their warranty team then rang me just yesterday on the back of my message sent last week, could see my replacement booking for Friday, and decided to say give us a call once done and we'll look to refund you...... Whether that's the full or not don't know, either way they surprisingly want to resolve

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
It's on the paperwork as 13mm to be precise Autoglass warranty team have since covered the replacement cost as it should never have been repaired in the first place. Called me today after messaging them how something could be repaired but then deemed to be a fail due to size and placement. On that basis, it was indeed justified

Autoglass repair, autoglass (now have to) replace
Just wanted to drop another FYI to avoid a potential panic come MOT Had a stone chip literally 2 weeks after owning my Kamiq in March 2024, got autoglass to repair it the nextday. Smooth finish, noticeable and annoying to see being in my direct vision, but was fine. Anyway MOT is due in March, and thought I'd drop down to my local skoda dealer 5mins away to make sure it will pass an MOT. They kindly checked with the MOT guy, and said it would fail. It's slightly over 10mm (although I measured it to be 9 or 10mm), despite autoglass saying anything under 20mm is fine in the drivers view. The main fail reason being too much in view. Could have gone down the route of getting their warranty team to come out, take a look, and possibly then cover the replacement, but couldn't be bothered with the hassle and just paid £75 excess for a full replacement being done this Friday. The main point of this post was simply if a chip is in the area above your steering wheel, double check incase it's an MOT fail and end up waiting for a full replacement and being off-road in a panic.

Service plan on car thanks to previous owner- worth checking FYI
Wasn't going to bother writing this but it may come in handy for some people To summarise: Bought my 22 plate Kamiq last February 2024, service being due I looked into getting it booked in, before being booked in I however said I want to check the full history, having been advised at point of sale a service would be carried out by Skoda Citygate. Sent an email to their service history team, see a line on the history saying "Service Plan policy xxxxxx end date x/x/2026" Enquired further with Skoda live chat what that was exactly, and they confirm it's still active, and just have to email [email protected] - along with a copy of your V5C pages 1 and 2 and your drivers licence Therefore my point is it's definetely worth a double check of the service history from Skoda directly, specifically if it's a 2 year old car as the previous owner may have also bought a service plan at the time when new, I honestly had no idea at all and even when booking online it stated there is no service plan in place, but Skoda UK confirm the car has an active plan that simply needs transferring to my name. I was prepared to pay for a service this and next year. Just a tip I wanted to share incase it saves people money basically

Rattles and Creaks
haha yeah true re more noise, I have a tiny tiny noise near the glass roof, but not bothered. This thing was bloody annoying, so much so I didn't care if a clip broke and just pulled it towards myself. It unclips very easy, pure silent now. Although mine was because one of those metal clips was broken, so was rattling around in the enclosure for it.

Rattles and Creaks
I'm fine with most sounds, but when it's like a paperclip ratting in a glass jar then it's noticeable.

Rattles and Creaks
Just to update on this also - my virtual dash surround also had a reoccuring rattle. I ended up so frustrated that I pulled out the plastic surround making it partially loose, which would make the rattle disappear, wasn't bothered if it was loose, it was silent., but then another time the rattle woud somehow come back once driving over a rumbling bit of tarmac. Got so annoyed I pulled out the entire plastic surround off. It's all held in with metal clips on the dash, and plastic tabs that fit into those metal clips. One of those metal clips, the top right corner, was totally loose and broken, hence the constant rattle sound as it wasn't securing anything. Putting the bit of rubber wedged into the corner of the surround, dampened it for a while, but then it would rattle again another time, assuming that metal clip just moved slightly enough to just jiggle around in it's space. Anyway removed the entire metal clip, and so far nice silence. That entire plastic surround has about 3 clips on the bottom, and 3 or 4 along the top, with a cover over the steering wheel part of the actual surround. Puling towards you pops the surround out of the metal clips on the dash, and just pushing back inwards slots back into the clips.

Automatic locking system override
Actually just noticed after a software update the door settings option isn't on the menu anymore in vehicle settings.

Automatic locking system override
Mine is the opposite, although 2022 model, doesn't auto lock which is fine I can manually press the big fat lock button. But there's a menu to access the settings to turn off/on, but when doing so a pop-up say's "this function is unavailable right now"

Additional extras worth having I feel....
All good, was good to have a different view, managed to smooth it out and fits tight now looking better. Think I'll keep it, always like a smooth leather feel (sofa in living room included) More snug fit now:

Additional extras worth having I feel....
Ah really I though it looked alright, I can always return it, will have a think. The red stitching matches part of the seat and the handbrake (monte carlo red stitching)... I think I was more afraid of the fabric being torn or scratched. Hmm, will see how it is over the weekend and return. Thanks for the feedback honestly 👍

Additional extras worth having I feel....
Wasn't too kean on the armrest being fabric, couldn't find a leather cover that was specifically for the Kamiq, but there was a Seat Leon one of the exact size. https://amzn.eu/d/i1KFtpl

"Opening and Closing" menu missing
did you ever resolve this? As I have the same issue strangely, doors do not lock automatically when driving off, and the menu option says "currently unavailable"

Rattles and Creaks
Funnily enough I did nearly the same thing just yesterday, had some spare rubber door draught proofing, and squeezed it into the top left and top right of the plastic surround of the virtual cockpit. Doesn't move at all now, and no tiny little clicking rattle type sound. But as you have aswell, on the passenger door somewhere there is a slightly similar light rattle, it's the only one to try and find. Need to have someone drive whilst I use my ears and hands pressing everything, another tip I saw on YouTube was someone linking their phone to their sound system and playing different types of bass tones, low and high frequency, this then highlighted the rattles whilst just parked up. Might give that a go aswell. Photo attached top left of plastic surround

Rattles and Creaks
I have the exact same issue, I managed to find it's the plastic surround of the digital dash. As I've been driving and hearing the little rattle, I was pressing down on various parts of the dash, it wasn't until holding down that plastic surround did it stay silent. On closer inspection that surround is a little bit loose, it moves just a fraction as if some screws are not fully tight, but I can't see anything without stripping stuff back which I'm not keen on (or have any idea to be honest!) So far I've been testing out putting blue back between that surround, and managed to get a silent journey this morning. So will work out a way of adding something less obvious then a piece of blue-tack. Probably end up doing what you've done Peter as the scenario sounds near identical

Downloading map updates
All updated thanks, didn't actually take that long considering the file size was 20gb+. Version went from 23.2 to 23.6 so wasn't too out of date prior.
