  1. Do APR Dealers even still do remaps on Twinchargers? RTMG are maybe the best for you to discuss things with
  2. @Keencyclist If the car drives well and the DSG feels fine then drive it, drive a bit spirited and the DSG will do it's thing just fine. But if you want to try the DQ200 DSG reset then why not. What is the worst that can happen? Has the DSG had Service Campaign '34H5' carried out since 2017? That was a software update for some from 2013-2015. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns Might not show even if done, and will not show if done, so check with a dealership if no sticker in the spare tyre well with '34H5' and a dealer stamp and date.
  3. @StEdmund My knowledge is from training as a mechanic then as a car sprayer and buying and selling cars and working in VW Group Dealerships doing Warranty assessments on bodies and paint. Knowing the fitters, techs and master techs that know their jobs and those that should be punted long ago. The issue is VW Group and Skoda UK in the UK. BS to customers, always driver error. They will deny faults until they can deny them no more. Then the next person goes through the same crap. I meet the Motoring Journalists, and there are only a few that tell it as it is. For Skoda & VW,s that is mainly Tim Rodie who gets long termers, or Bob Flavin and a few others. As for What Car / Autocar, Autoexpress, they are deaf dumb and blind selectively with VW Group. An issue 4 years back. As far as Skoda was concerned, just a characteristic. When things are good these guys tell you. and when wrong they will.
  4. @StEdmund I do not have any modern Skoda or VW. i daily drive old ICE cars or EV,s. But i do get to borrow & drive new cars, i also gert to new car launches to try them as a disabled driver, but only automatics as i have 1 leg, so really i have never experienced a manual and cutting out, or loss of drive. But then nobody should have to. As for someone being able to reject a car that does, that is because the Importer & Manufacturer must be well aware there are issues.
  5. Karoq & some in the DVSA Safety Recalls, 2019 recall 1,5 TSI ACT for some builds.. & a 2020 Octavia, some recalls for some. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns
  6. A Scenic was quite good for passenger space a luggage. This should have been a very good light goods carrier, that being it is a MPV. / Multi Purpose Vehicle, or carry More people vehicle in comparison to less people carriers. aka cars with 5 seats and no luggage space for 5. 87 kW usable battery, if he is not getting 4 miles a kWh then really is it 4 x 87, 348 miles, full to empty, or maybe 3.6 miles a kWh average, UK average year temps, 313 miles. If a tail wind, and the luck of the gods.
  7. As to the New / Replacement parts. The Factory have them, they are building new cars for new customers while people that have already bought the cars and they received payment for them whistle. If anyone wants a Like for Like Courtesy car than tell Skoda in your country to provide one. Dealership Principal Dealers and others are driving top of the range cars that Skoda / VW still own, none of them have to drive a Peugeot 3008. If anyone wants a Peugeot 3008 then fair enough. Too many let them take the total p!$$. They seem to forget who is the customer and who,s job is as a service provider.
  8. £6. Freedom light.
  9. Those that know about those particular cars / engines will be along hopefully with advice from their experiences and knowledge.
  10. Maybe the DfT are going to confirm that the ban on the sale of new Petrol & Diesel cars being first registered in the UK is going to be 2030 again. Maybe the UK Government are going to announce that there will not be the same tariff on Chinese Imports to the UK that there is to be in the EU. Maybe the Transport Secretary can do the Transport statements and the Chancellor the Treasury / Import / export ones, tariffs, quotas etc. Maybe the Prime Minister can make sure that leaks and briefing stop and that announcements are made when they decide on what is happening and then those with insider knowledge are not tipping off friends, family, speculators, journalists and anyone they think should know before the general public.
  11. A decent stage 1 map can be great. The APR Stage 1 was and the REVO was not. So do you have anyone local that can remap that can be trusted. Maybe someone with experience of Twinchargers? Talk to those at TVS. They are the people that should know. Had your car had the Breather Mod and Software update early on in life. You say it is running stock software, is that stock from the factory 2011 & not as was done with the Breather Mod? ? Did you get the later Oil Spray Jets? Maybe talk with them.
  12. Now people will think when stealing from a car to check where the umbrella is kept incase someone thought it a good place for money, drugs or whatever and not just something like a brush.
  13. @ken2 1.5 TSI ACT manual. ? From what build date are they all the same across the 4 brands? What about the ones that do not do it? Which there are ones obviously.
  14. @Rickypup Are you able to put up the cars registration number so that others can maybe be forewarned if looking at a used car. Nearly new / low miles. There must be more like yours that get rejected and no updates carried our and some unfortunate person is landed with a lemon that Dealerships will say has No Faults or Issues, or anything 'They have heard about'. Or some might say it is just a 'Characteristic'. They all do that!
  15. Skoda / VW UK and the lot they have doing the Customer Service service is an issue. The lack of knowledge of the vehicles and referring customers and those that have vehicles back to Dealerships to get information. These are often people at Dealerships without a clue in Sales, Parts or Servicing Departments. After Sales for some from some is pathetic from Skoda UK & Dealerships. eg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/521243-q5-tsi-power-cutting-out/page/6
  16. My hearing is crap, but that start up sounds pretty crap even still. First start of the day, or when the car has sat is a Cold Start. Different though in Winter & cold weather and oil at or around freezing / ambient temp, or maybe UK July and mid teens, celsius ambient / so oil. Maybe only slight difference. Maybe less noisy with a Pre WLTP VW Engine with 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III than 2018 on and 0w 20 FS IV. ? So what servicing has it had? Spark Plugs replaced at least twice. Fresh air filter in now What else has it been getting or there is a record of?
  17. I know all the details of the Recall, but that was 2014 on 2009-2012 DQ200 DSG,s so not relevant. I see now that to the left you have are showing a 2016 car, that is not visible when on a phone. So tell us about the 1.9 TDI DSG. Is it a 2.0TDI DSG, and how old? Newer cars have a DQ381 DSG with a 80,000 mile service interval. Cam Belt and Water Pump advice has changed since last July, but then that might have come after the Cam Belt and Water pump might have already been changed on the car you are looking at.
  18. @GladysFriday Did you ask and get in writing what 'Software Update' your car got, and was that other than 57NL. Was it the Software Update that was holding up the Delivery of new cars in June & July 2024?
  19. Buyers Beware. Just use some of the brain cells you were born with! Those Financing the purchase of a Porsche Taycan. With Cash Money, or borrowed cash money be you a private user buyer or one getting a works car like The MacMaster. They cost you money, lots in depreciation. But then if you want a luxury / prestige Sporty Car for UK roads for getting to and from places of work or any car they do cost. Tool of the trade really for Business Users & the Tax Payer / HMRC help out with these for work purposes. 'Ultimately have to replace the batteries'. We will see how many that get a Taycan once you can for £15,000 actually replace the batteries if the car has maybe as little as 50% of the original range left. If any get to such a power battery capacity. Simples. They were stupid expensive and then people specced them up, and then fault after fault and still faults and people are nor wanting to splash out stupid money to buy used ones, or even lease used one. But then some will, and some never learn no much how life experience they have. They will keep driving them though, because that is why you get cars unless as collectors or investors. No point getting a Porsche 911, or Even a Mecan non EV and hanging about charging stations making videos on how bad an EV is or how much money they lose. Or the person getting them might.
  20. Just bumping due to the other thread by @BomerTimpson That does not say it is a 90 ps 1.2 TSI and nobody asked other than me. Just because it is always worth trying to find out what someone has before advising them what to do to improve performance or do upgrades. It is not just about Engine Power, or acceleration, the gearbox the car has matters, and the brakes, tyres, suspension etc matters.
  21. 2.0 TDI. They have different DSG,s, DQ250 probably. OIl & Filter service @ 40,000 miles intervals, **with a 1.6 TDI. (There were recalls, and an Oil change with 2009-2012 ones.)** As to Cam belt and Water pumps with a TDI, that is different with a TSI. ? So what Engine / DSG has your Superb got that you are selling? & miles & age?
  22. Pathetic after sales service from Skoda Dealerships. Really this nonsense needs more from Skoda / VW UK. Deaf dumb and blind Franchised Dealerships / Authorised repairers. The people you have to report Warranty issues to and unsafe behaviour to. They learned nothing from the WLTP / 2018 kangarooing issues. That ended up with RECALLS. Well past time that the DVSA were involved.
  23. @BomerTimpson What power of 1.2 TSI have you 90ps or 110ps? A remap is the simple solution for more power and not just a different way the acceleration feels. Good spark plugs, good clean air filter and E5 97 or 99 Super unleaded petrol not E10 Unleaded,
  24. Welcome. Is that really just 3,000 miles on the clock? When was it last MOT,d or taxed? I would be servicing the AWD system.
  25. Thread posted in the Roomster section is in English.
