  1. The ban will be on buying and first registering New ICE vehicles, still 11 years away or if back to 2030 still 6 years away and then even that may not happen then and it could be pushed back. An early euro 6 petrol or diesel might not be made uneconomical to run if 14 or up to 19 years old by the times this happens. Maybe were people do not need to be going into the growing number of LEZ,s then not an issue.
  2. Octopus energy tariff requires you are where you have the Smart Meter, wall charger or are using someone else's. Much cheapness, as it can be for people with off street parking and smart meters / chargers. The Social divide.
  3. 3.8 miles to the kWh in MINI Electric. 32.6 kWh battery, 28.9 kWh usable, so really count as 30 kWh and 3.8 miles a kWh = 114 miles. It needs low speeds and not too hot and not too cold weather to get over 120 miles. 18*oC ambient is a sweet spot. No AC on. Yesterday & last night 350 miles cost me £45 with public charging and back to 100% charged at home. £6 on the 3 pin once home, & £39 public charging. Petrol at 142 pence a litre (£6.45 a gallon) and getting 50 mpg would have been £45 and not the frustration i had with chargers yesterday. If just getting 45 mph then that would be 7.7 gallons, £50. So 110 miles with 22 pence a kWh home tariff and 240 mile with 31 pence, 38 pence and 58 pence public charging tariffs. If i had charged at Podpoint that might have been 65 pence a kWh, BP 69 pence and MFG and others, 75, 79 or even 85 pence a kWh. InstaVolt. Charging non peak time at a TESLA Super charger with Tesla non Tesla could have been under 50 pence a kWh, but i was not passing near any. As low as 41 pence a kWh. 52 pence peak time. ............. No idea what Charge Place Scotland are doing but i am due them £120.85. They took by DD this month for charging up to April 2024 & no idea when they will be wanting the outstanding amount. As it is were i can use the RFID card and it works there is no point using a CC or Debit card. Lots of the sessions are ones where the charger cuts out and needs restarted, and sometimes no minimum charge, £1 or £2, and there are ones that were charged & even a £5 charge for 1 kWh. They have not responded to me disputing these, but then there are times i get a charger working and get electricity and no record of it. Swings & roundabouts.
  4. Or allowed in the UK. Also Air Shows. Just ridiculous really.
  5. I suspect it might be environment / climate if they need replacing at under 56,000 miles.

What matters is what they were each at when the TPMS was last set. Were they all at the same pressure then? Who set the pressures and the TPMS last?
  7. @Bertie90 Just say no unless it is one that has already had an engine replaced or rebuilt. Too much of a lottery to blow £5.500 on.
  8. Its been happening with plenty engines for years now and DSG with a lot more BHP / Nm than the 250 Nm max that any DQ200,s are dealing with. They never designed or engineered the system to be fragile. There is more to be concerned than the components you mention. Like the MCU, and that is even where Coasting might never be enabled.
  9. Never seen or heard or issues with 'Coasting' mode with Wet or Dry Clutch DSG,s. Why would it cause excessive wear? Is it with your Scala & a DQ200 DSG that worries you?
  10. Red Paint thankfully changed a long time back other than maybe with Vauxhall & that was cars and Vans. The new pigments were tried out first by Ferrari on Fiat Punto,s,you did not know until after a few years which had the more expensive finish, if you see and old red Punto you will know if it had the good stuff or not, then Ferrari did options on the red you could get. Skoda had no issues with Corrida red other than sometimes with the plastics painted. Kia still have badly matched panels sometimes with metallic red metal & plastic mismatched. One of the red Fabia i had. 2 2 Options of the Scenic Long Range have low Advance Payments with Motability and i imagine they will be popular.
  11. Cut out again. Moved to now available charger and starting 4th time now at 75%. 10 mins hopefully then away. The charger that the Enyaq was on seems to want to charge me for it's 55 kWh. No bl00dy way will that be happening.
  12. So finally after the charger cutting out the No speak English has taken away the white and black car and not the pickup yet. So I am charging again and so is a Taxi that got on where the black MG was. That is an hour I have been here and still not managed to get enough of a charge. P!$$ing down now. Should have gone to MFG.
  13. So the Enyaq is away. Car parking services and he does not speak English so can not say if they are exempt from the overstay. I asked could he tell me in Hungarian. Shrug. I will ask Edinburgh City council if they speak English.
  14. Me. 27 minutes and not even 10 kWh yet. Truth. Is paying 58 pence a kWh for a crap power supply.
  15. The red pickup is on the AC which counts as a Rapid and 90 minutes max then £30 fine. The notice says applies to all connector types. So 2 1/2 hours charging and has got only 25 kWh. There are 7 kW, 11 and 22kW AC with long allowed charging times it could have been on. And a lower tariff. I am on a 50 kW DC and started with 10% / 12 miles and it is charging at a not very good speed. No other rapid charger to use as the are out of order. So I will get enough for 90 miles range and bog off. This is how things are quite a lot. Enyaq, 2 1/2 hours, 55 kWh, MG 70 mins 35 kWh. Crap.
  16. Is it just about a 1.4 TSI ACT vs a 1.5 TSI ACT? Manuals or DSG,s? (& no a 1.4 TSI PHEV coming into the comparison?)
  17. Even New not yet registered. New Mini Cooper S is out. 2.0 lt Petrol. But as with many cars, auto only. & There will be the Current Models sitting waiting on buyers. Mini Cooper S John Clark Works. (Not just JCW trim) Then there is the New Countryman for a not Small Car. Tim Rodie is a Briskoda member and has his Youtube vids of running a vRS 245 Estate as his daily and a Skoda Superb Estate. (Media long term loans)

The cars have them mandatory now in the EU and Northern Ireland, and we will see when the RofUK adopts or not, but the stuff is built in now. The Speed limiters which ever of 3 types are available to switch off or over ride as you please just now, but then there is Data Logging so crash investigators will be able to check how often and where the speed limiters were disabled or over ridden, which is perfectly fine. As to the speed warnings, they are dead simple, keep to the limit and you should never be alerted, But then the systems can be crap and get the actual speeds or revised restrictions wrong. That will be partly because the Mainland UK and islands other than Northern Ireland has not legislated to have mandatory Speed Warnings or limiters for passenger cars.

@bigcon what have you got, a new car with the EU,s new speed limiter / warning system? When was it built or first registered? New ones are going to default on each start are they not, even though not yet required in the UK other than in Northern Ireland since the 7 th July.
  20. DRLs go dimmer or out when. Sidelights or sidelights and headlights are on. They can not or should not be bright. They are daytime / daylight running lights. ? Do you not have them coming on with the ignition and no other lights on, and is that what you are trying to code to have happen ?
  21. @clampguy1 Welcome. The last posts were nearly 4 years ago. I hope the members had their issues resolved.
  22. Are you sure that your car has DRL,s?
  23. They had to and still have to buy lots from anyplace. Because they were the biggest independent / family motor group. They sold or supplied many new vehicles and turned around many used cars and after sales can be a nightmare when you get a lemon and they handle many thousands of lemons. And turn over lots and lots and lots of staff with many who do not give a damn. Senior Management being the real issue. Some are always there and leading badly.
  24. Well Toyota GR Yaris are aplenty. Probably the best fast small car. Insurance might be high. I do not fit in one very well, i tried an automatic at a special dealers day and knew i would get more points or a ban as i would be tempted to show anyone up my arse just how well it went.
