the truth about electric cars
PodPoint @ Craven District Council Community Centre Car park has 6 x 7kW chargers available (now) & @ 62 pence a kWh. That is maybe £4.34 if you get 7 kW in an hour. Plus parking charges obviously.. '2.4 kW added, madness my friends'. Yes it is because 3 kW @ 62 pence is £1.86. 20 minutes. 2 or 3 %. added. 79.2 kWh Battery. 71.0 kWh usable. Something odd altogether. Lots of kWh losses or something to go from Under £2 for 3 kWh to be charged £4.17. .............. A food reviewer that knows the price / cost of everything that goes in his gob, Fish & Chips, Coffee.s, & Pastries / Doughnuts, Border Biscuits etc should know what the cost is of what they feed the car. £4.17 divided by 62 pence is 6.7 kWh of PodPoints electricity purchased. For those getting 4 miles a kWh that is near 27 miles. If he can get 3 miles a kWh then 20 miles. For the cost he spends sometime on a hot drink. Those that count pennies really should get to know what those pennies can buy them. .............. My battery at 100% will show 100 miles today. So near 3.3 miles per kWh. 1% being 1 miles really in a 30 kWh battery. 2-3 % is 2-3 kWh. 2.4 kWh is 2.4 % showing. 2-3% into a 80 kWh is not 2.4 kWh.

the truth about electric cars
Skye, anytime these days. No toilets, no parking, not much fun. Ahh the good old days, loads of parking and midges. Then people not with enough fuel when they do the NC500 in camper vans because the price they spotted at the last filling station was to high.

the truth about electric cars
Hindsight is what it is. There were no Mk1 Fabia until there were Mk2 Fabia, there were just Fabia. Foresight is a wonderful thing. Show us Ingelton then show us the 3 charger locations up the road. For those viewers abroad.... & not the Porsche place he usually might use and really does the job quite well since the car has the battery size / capacity it has.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham ButcherIt lets him down because really without a doubt he is on a mission to be let down. He chose the big battery car that is not that efficient and that is simple, fast charging makes it easy. I chose a small battery car, that is not that efficient and made worse by the chargers being blocked often by big battery cars getting charged to 100%. Or even 80% just because they are stopped and they are not paying, so as well to park and plug. PS. Maybe i should had put a crying emojy above. EV Charging might be more available than parking.

the truth about electric cars
"but he was showing the charging facility for the area as it really is'. Yes the public charging in a small area of the route, where there is better charging not far oop that road north wise. Highlight away. It is a problem at Ingelton if that is where you are desperate for charging or you live there and do not go near the not far away rapids. Well that how it is. Park in the Community Car park and pay to park like non EV,s, then use the 7 kW PodPoint and pay the cost of 7 kW charging. Just get 2.5 kWh of a charge. That is what 'fast chargers' gives you, he says 'Slow'. they are very slow, but called 'fast'.

the truth about electric cars
When the business is paying their charging of the 'Company car' as one Porsche owner told me at Stirling Park and ride when i said there was a 40 minute max charge then £1 a minute, it does not matter how much it cost as if you average it out it is cheaper than the chargers where they went to eat. So he did think about the money and not using the eateries charger. The guys as it always has been guys in the vans have always been the same, there range is crap and if they need to charge they do and nobody has ever told them about penalty charges.

@globalste please if you can be bothered just so i know try the new Booking page for HAWCO Inverness, VW / Skoda, they have Peterhead as well and see the prices they charge. Last years down below. https://www.hawcogroup.co.uk/service-parts-repair https://www.hawcogroup.co.uk Just as well there is Victoria Garage Maud for Skoda owners wanting proper work carried out at proper prices. Then there is the John Clark Group in Aberdeen, Dundee & Perth who might well follow Skoda pricing. Lat years prices.

the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol it is just as well i am a calm person that can hold me tongue considering the time i get someplace and a Taycan is on a 7 / 11 / 22 kW charger and at 100%. I just go 'pillock', then occasionally if they return while i am still about i have asked WTF are you for real. The real **** take with one old guy was he just hit the stop button on the charger with the AC tethered charger he was plugged into and had been for 12 hours and the car charging on the DC was left not getting charged and the charger never reset and i could not use the AC to get 11kW charging.

@310golfr If pricing is coming from the top like Skoda UK or VW UK then strange because those prices the OP showed are much more than others Skoda Main Dealers / Authorised repairers are charging, or quoting.

Water in Engine oil!
Scented windscreen wash to freshen the tail pipe emissions, which are nothing really because of the Adblue (urea) and the special 0w 20 FS IV oil for the WLTP certification runs.

the truth about electric cars
'Lets go.' Well planned or chosen. headed to a AC charger and used his own cable. 'Thats the way he rolls, pass any rapids, ultra rapids or just ignore those just up the road & go plug in and get 11 kW max charging, maybe even only 7 kw.' 'Should have got a Mini. Or for umbrellas in the door a Skoda or Rolls Royce.' 'Forget the width, feel the length. ' Forget the damn weight. Pots and Kettles. Many a big elephant of a motor kicks about with just a driver in and passenger seats or luggage space empty.

The next generation MINI Cooper Electric 2024 & MINI Aceman 2024/25 pics & Videos.
The New MINI Aceman reveal is on the 24th April 2024. As to the New MINI Cooper Electric still no journalist / vloggers / influencer,s getting to drive them or if they having being allowed to publish them filmed / photographed in undisguised ones. There will be an embargo on that. Software issues still maybe... Re the 'Leather steering wheel' It must be a very good version of Leather Look & Feel if BMW / MINI are to be believed. Maybe his error. JCW,s is a trim only, not any performance different from the other Bigger Battery Cooper S. The Cooper E being the smaller battery version with less power.

Water in Engine oil!
H2o from external sources into the Engine. (Not into the door inner's, or the rear or front carpets or spare tyre well.. Skoda characteristics, now that is common.) Fording and water into Air Filter and to engine. Well the Air filter gets wet. The engine might then Hydraulic lock.) Deep enough for the Dip Stick tube with no dipstick in to suck in water like down a straw. No dip stick or loose. A driver knows they did that! Some muppet at a service or anyone, topping up the coolant into the oil filler hole having taken off the cap. Now that is a favourite.

PHEV hatchback internal boot measurments
think a minute more of a look on the internet would have got the internal dimensions of hatch or estate. This was the first key word search result.

Are Skoda Dealers online booking sites using AI or some system that gives prices that are ridiculous to some potential customers that might just pay these. Is there no available booking times for Recall Actions, warranty jobs, diagnostics because they are out the door with Golden Goose Egg jobs. All the techs away getting trained to do BEV servicing or not. Or busy doing PDI,s on PHEV,s that they can not then actually find time to take in for work if there are issues. Is the OP,s car being quoted ridiculous service item costs because of is a PHEV.??

Problem getting in
You have your seat as low as it can be, so an adjustable one passenger side. You need to know what the 2022 car was. It maybe did not have a hight adjustable seat. You might have to visit someplace selling Fabia and have the friend seeing what works best. Maybe there was 15mm difference in the cars height. Ground to sill. Then sill to seat makes a difference.

Volvo EX 30 - Quicker, relatively cheap, proper EV styling without nod to ICE car looks
What gets me is the cars that have the touch screen does not appear to be any less a distance than a fully outstretched arm and finger distance away from a driver position as the sit back in their seat holding a steering wheel and driving. They need to lean forward and over to the left, lifting their back off the seat unless they are the kind with the seat right forward because of short legs or just the odd position i see some driving cars adopting. At least Black Cabs have their meter screens back near the driver.

ECU removal
Maybe there is no reason not to with a DQ200 0AM . Different with wet clutch DSG,s. Just do it, what is the worst that could happen?

There was a 2022 Price List. Then a partial 2023 and lots of POA. DQ200 DSG have no Service Intervals. None are by years, so not at 4 years. VAQ (Front ) Diffs were @ 3 years / 30,000 miles, now at 2 years, those do not show. Octavia vRS. Haldex at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner.

Here is 2018, 2020 & 2021 prices, Fixed Servicing Skoda Participating Dealers, 3-10 years old car. 2019 Major Service went to £289.

Filter replacement on 24mth service
^^^ Crazy crazy rip off replacement parts at Servicing. Even that Brake Fluid replacement cost is taking the Michael The Pollen / Cabin Filter has always been at 2 years / 20,000 miles, even up to 2019 Fixed Price Servicing At participating dealers, cars 3-10 years old. This is showing fixed servicing, and the PHEV Oil & Filter changes are on the fixed regime. Brakes were @ 3 years then each 2. Now back to each 2 on them, not just PHEV,s. Check your Air Filter. They should but might not. 6 years is ridiculous if never checked in that time. Pollen filter as you are doing. DQ400-e DSG is every 4,000 miles. Not as with DQ381,s now supposedly at 80,000 miles. CRAZY.
