  1. ^^^ What does the rest of the tinternet / Social Media say about Hacked Black Boxes and people voiding there possibly cheaper insurance? If they can be hacked and are being hacked then surely that needs clamped down on. I just read how pretty hopeless they can be.
  2. This was posted by @nta16 concerning the UK, he is a good source for stuff like this.
  3. It is E10 95 ron, or E5 98 ron, or 100, 102, 107 ron (Octane.) The stage 1 map you have was maybe to suit the Super Unleaded. It might make no difference to you to run the petrol with more ethanol, you bought it not knowing it was tuned anyway.
  4. Open the Air Box and look at the Air Filter and see if clean. E5 has from 0%-5% max Ethanol. E10 can have up to 10% Ethanol, and is 95 Octane. (Minimum) Were are you? 98 (Min) E5 would be right and depending where you are it might be Winter Spec now and 100 / 100+ octane. In the UK there is no 98 Super Unleaded, it is 97 or 99 Minimum E5.
  5. I was assuming maybe wrongly that @barnsleyboy being a nosy neighbour and a road captain like me, would have already been on Ask MID to see the car is insured if not the driver and looked at the MOT status.
  6. Sounds fine, drive normally for whatever country you are in and it should be fine. Advice sounds right. When was it last serviced, plugs changed, air filter checked etc? Plenty here have had them tuned similarly. Now that you know it is modified i suppose you just have to declare that with your insurance.
  7. Just because he said he has a Black Box fitted does not mean he actually does. Just have a word with the Community Police Officer. That is why they are there, if they are there or there about and not selectively deaf, dumb or blind or absent when needed.
  8. Battery Warranties were discussed the other night in a post about PHEV,s. Worth knowing just what the T&C,s are. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_July_2023.pdf
  9. Apples, Pears & Oranges, all fruits. Here just totally different engines from different eras, Euro 5 then Euro 6 Emissions, then Euro 6 & WLTP / RDE2. They are not running test cars with AC on. They just have stuff operating differently, engine management and battery charging and regeneration of batteries.
  10. Welcome. Battery not much good at 100%, and 100% displayed might not really be 100%. as it is the car wants to regenerate and produce electricity and the 100% when driving off in a BEV or PHEV surprises some as they need to maybe use the brakes. As to the TC/ASR, Is it the ECO bias tyres being pretty crap if non aggressive driving from a junction and dry. What tyres are on the car and did you reset the pressures from the hand over and reset the TPMS?
  11. Are you asking about Mk3 Fabia Estate length,s? Longer than a Mk4 Hatch. Longer than a Kamiq. Mk4,s wheelbase longer than the Mk3.
  12. Pain in the ar53.
  13. It might well be a DQ381 which are used for FWD or AWD, but the DQ380,s were used in China but in Europe as far as i know. Plenty do remaps in Aberdeen and are Established someone local can maybe recommend another than the one your friend did. Out at Westhills i was told was good but then again that was just someone telling me. http://dj-autos.com A good place i would trust is at Braco so near Dunblane and your are going that way.
  14. @mrted83 SVS Dundee that @Schtummentioned will be fine if Dundee suits, i can give you a number for Forfar mechanic if you want. ? What are you considering as a Major Service, Oil & Filter, Pollen Filter, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, Brake Fluid change and anything needed? Best you use someplace nearest and discuss what is needed by what has been done and not just go by the term 'Major'. Get to know them there and maybe take advice if they are someplace that can betrusted.
  15. Hardly necessary to remap the DSG for Stage 1 and some town driving and long trips if you are going to drive as you do now and just maybe use extra oomph for overtaking and not for traffic light sprints. As the mechanic already told you.
  16. @mrted83i can point you towards very good Independent mechanics when you require anything doing.
  17. @Tym94Just as bad really. But it is you that could get the fine, and then it is those that have a MOT Station and do DPF removal or cat or some REmaps for Pops and bangs that the DVSA are starting taking actions against.
  18. @Tym94He would not want his or his garages name out there then if he is prepared to do DPF removal for customers.
  19. @Tym94Welcome. Who is the guy that will be doing the tuning, is he a man with a van or premises someplace?
  20. When Skoda supposedly clarified it last year for TSI,s people were still asking is it all engines including TDI,s. Dealership staff still give different answers as does the Customer Services Contractors.
  21. I really do like and enjoy driving the MINI especially on back / narrow roads. Also on faster good roads, very stable. As fast as i can drive and the legal speed is fast enough really on some of the best roads for fun, but the ride is terrible on the 17" wheels, 205/45 R17 All Season tyres. Good in the wet and cold, and been OK on what few miles i had them on snow. They grip well but on the poor surfaces it really is a hard hit and the car can hop & crash about a bit. So 16" rims going on and 195/55 R 16 All Season next week as i am planning a good few longer trips this year within Scotland and North of England & am going to carry 2 spares so the 17" wheels / tyres will be just fine for that. .............. Quite a good vid here from Nobby on Cars IMO. I am glad i got the current car and did not wait for the new one even though longer between the need to charge would be nice i suspect there will be snagging faults and i really could not live with the interior or centre screen and not Speedo / Info in front. I am not a fan of the heads up display and have it Off on my car as not needed.
  22. Lewis is going offski to Ferrari, just not anytime soon....2025. Yet BBC saying 'Not confirmed'.
  23. I have not seen any Reviews / Viseos of the New MINI Cooper Electrics being driven undisguised in either of the Battery Sizes / Power they are coming in. Now there is more coming out on the New MINI Aceman.
  24. @PhoenixboyThat is how it should be. No issues. No use though to those that might have that you did not. ? Is it North East England you are in rather than the North East of the British Isles?
