Tipping point?
There has to be a lot of things happening in the 4 countries of the UK in the next 7 and a bit years with the governments actually doing stuff and not just talking about it. So much BS from those that are in power now and those that might stay or get replaced. Yet another Transport Minister in Scotland. Yet another serial failure in each post she holds, which has been many. All the best wishes for those involved in the commercial and manufacturing side and investing. They need it because the Governments can let them fail any time they want. They keep talking about talking about spending on stuff they can not back all the way and they let people down. Millions and millions over the pass decade has gone to those that filled their pockets and got away with providing crap equipment / technology. Stuff now not fit for purpose. http://elementaldigital.co.uk/scottish-government-unveils-ideal-public-ev-charging-offering What is needed in many many towns and lots more in locations around the cities. Not just tourist sites and miles from where people want to be leaving their vehicles. The Scottish Green Party is a problem in Scotland as far as the move to EV,s. This Minister who has a place in the Scottish Government. Cycling is needed, he cycles, just not everyplace and we pay for his use of public transport or his getting where he can not walk or cycle. http://scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/politics/patrick-harvie-dragged-one-civil-30058011 It is 2030 that is the date for the end of the sale of new conventional petrol & diesel cars in the UK not 2035.

Kamiq Service Intervals
Fixed Servicing regime is 372 days, 9,400 miles, or has been with Skoda / SEAT, or 9,600, or maybe with VW / Audi 9,300. S-Tronic service maybe 38,000 miles & Skoda, VW, SEAT DSG,s 40,000 miles. (DQ381 80,000) People have asked on this forum for years. Why is my car showing inspection service in so many days and oil service a year away? That is because that is how many VW Group cars arrive in the UK. Many ask why there car was serviced how ever many miles ago and is telling them a service is already being alerted. Again because what happens happens. .............. There was the time when it was Minor then Interim service and then Major time about. Or staying on Major / Major and do an annual oil change. Servicing is more then Oil & Filter changes and look sees. The Issue was fixed Services charged or a first Major charged for a 20,000 miles yet no Air Filter, Fuel Filter, or Spark Plugs being changed. That was at the 2nd Major Service. The Body Inspection was at Major Services, each 2 years, not at 'Inspection services, Oil & filter and look see & report.

Hard start
@MickyaWelcome. You need to help people to help you. Like saying if a petrol or diesel, which engine in those flavours. How many miles, what servicing has it had, what recently, state of battery etc etc.

Kamiq Service Intervals
@kodiaqsportline Maybe go back to the OP in August 2021. Real world, as it happens out there with others. Just you make it up as you go along and tell us how all is good in your experiences with dealership employees / staff that know their stuff. Where is this recommendation to main dealers to change cars to fixed servicing. They do with the Demonstrators. They might with lease and fleet, and they might not when they should if a Service Plan requires Fixed Service Regimes. The cars leave the factory on variable servicing and have for over a decade for the UK other than Citigo. http://volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners-and-services/servicing-and-parts/service-plans/service-schedules.html Recommended Fixed Service Regimes as VW says on the website, use etc, Not recommended to change at a PDI without asking the buyer. Simple for Dealerships to put on their Registered Keeper Owners List if the car was changed to Fixed intervals and word letters and phone call alerts accordingly. Also maybe be aware if a vehicle is a Cam belt or timing chain engine. Or a PHEV that also require Fixed Service Oil Changes by the VW Schedule.

Looking for our 2nd Skoda
Welcome. Hopefully someone will be along that knows the cars well. Is there any issue as far as going to places with Low Emission Zones coming in that would require you to have a vehicle of the right age / emissions? Have a look in the Briskoda 'cars for sale section' and check & maybe post in the Wanted Section. There might be just the chance of a suitable car coming up. Also you getting your current car sold.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
I will have had the car 3 years in August and even though i have an extended lease i was handing it back as i really need the money it costs me every week. Anyway the MOT was booked for 10th July, 8.00 am waiting appointment & then after that was arranged the Recall Action that i was told was required. AC Compressor. Presently i am able to charge free or cheap and since i have no car on order and am waiting to see what might be available to me from Motability from the new list in July i will wait see. Maybe run it through the winter or until i get a new car. Phoned the Dealership this morning to ask since the Mot will be an hour and the recall work a few hours, days or weeks can i have a Courtesy Car that day? 'No problem', ME< Will it be a Corsa Electric or an Automatic anything? No Automatics & no Corsa Electrics as they are off the road. This is Arnold Clark yet again at their best. It was a regular member of staff i was talking to, full time in the service department. I asked if they could check how long the Recall work might take, will the part be in, have other Electric Corsa been in, etc. Not a scooby, but booking me a Hire Car from Motability. That appears to be my answer. How long is a piece of string? No idea we have no tape measure, no idea how to use one, or anyone we can ask. We are just Scotland's biggest Motor Group.

Epc and engine light problem lead to limp mode
As just a mater of a quick check did the mechanic plug into the car with their device and read it for fault codes? *Did the mechanic consider since it was the EPC light & Exhaust Emissions light that there might be misfires and did they take out the spark plugs and inspect them? * Enough misfires in a cycle should have logged a fault code, and that is going to put the car into limp mode and disable the turbo. Even misfires not logged can put the car into limp mode. ? When were the spark plugs last replaced? Does your engine have the armoured leads fitted or on 1 lead? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495806-ht-leads-skoda-fabia http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/430215-11836-cylinder-disabling-6352-cylinder-3-misfire http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/458349-problemtic-fabia-12-tsi

The orange are really just a bit too much for me. They certainly are noticeable from a long way off on a fine sunny day & even a low visibility one. I have had Orange Jimny,s and Land Rovers over the years but would not have a car in the colour as my driving habits need the cloak of invisibility. Lots of MG4 about as pretty cheap as far as Advance Payment from Motability, and i see a good few Taxi / Private Hire cars and Uber, and they are Black. (Only available cheaper than those below on Motability list is the MINI Electric, Zoe or Leaf.)

@BiscayneDid you further tune your cars handling and suspension by checking what the tyre pressures were at hand over and setting to your needs for load carried, season / weather & then resetting the TPMS?

Welcome. Surely having a light bar fitted correctly will not affect the warranty any more than having a tow bar and electrics at the other end of the vehicle, but you could always check with the warranty provider. That would be Skoda would it not. No idea if you have Skoda police or emergency vehicles in Australia but they do in New Zealand and they will have additional lighting. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/491168-driving-lights-lightbarspotlights-etc http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488296-led-spotlights http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/457554-let-there-be-light-160w-led-bar

Skoda Octavia 2021 mkiv dsg7 noise in reverse gear
Was that a technician from the dealership that said that the sound was normal? Did they not have other cars with a DSG at the dealership that you could try. They would clearly not be normal and not making a noise like that. Best get it is for a diagnosis while under warranty, maybe at another dealership where they give a damn.

Kamiq Service Intervals
Simply doing the job is ask the buyer if they want their vehicle changed from Variable Servicing to Fixed for their usage or because of a Service Plan. Not just doing it because it suits them.

More blind reviewers need other than those Motoring Journalists that borrow cars and appear to not put their own money where their mouths are. 'There are non as blind as those that will not see', or spend enough time with cars before bigging them up.

Which DSG gearbox is fitted to a 2020 model year Superb Sportline Plus 280?
@Chris48Does that dealership actually have a Service Manager with technical knowledge or maybe training or qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, or even an NVQ in upselling. As long as they have a tongue or can do sign language and ask someone that works on Skoda / VW's they will be OK. And as long as their memory from the discussion and back to the customer is good enough. This is their job after all, maybe 5 1/2 days a week, and maybe 45 weeks a year. Or how long they last in the job. Service desk staff are selected on the basis of no interest in cars or motoring and no ability to actually learn about the product or remember what each they dealt with the previous hours, days or weeks actually needed in the way of servicing regimes or recommendations or important stuff or actually to check using that keyboard in front of them that they do have a NVQ in the use of. They never forget about Fuel Treatment, AC servicing and that if there is brake wear it must be 80% and not 20% with 80 % left.

Which DSG gearbox is fitted to a 2020 model year Superb Sportline Plus 280?
When it comes to the time you decide you want the DSG serviced and get a price that might be the big shock. Then if the Service Desk staff give a price ask them if they want to 'call a friend' or go speak with the Master Tech about just what DSG the car has. They can then maybe find out if they are changing the oil filter or not. (At an uneducated guess they are not planning on.) This might change in the next year or 3. Maybe this 80,000 service interval schedule, guidance, recommendation will change as well. It will be interesting to know what Main Dealers in the UK are charging for servicing a DQ381 and if the same as for a DQ250. *Pick a price, any price maybe.*

On Saturday's 'Off the Ball' on Radio Scotland there was talk about Taxi Drivers. Stuart Cosgrove does not drive and uses taxi,s lots and Tam Cowan who does drive uses lots of taxis and has the patter. He was mentioning that is best to not annoy taxi drivers but when he hears them wax lyrical on the EV car / Taxi and how much less it costs to run he would like to ask why they are not cheaper for the fare payer than if they were getting transported in a dirty diesel.

SKODA OCATAVIA ESTATE 2012 FUEL CONSUMPTION AND GEAR ISSUES
So really if it is very warm and you want the interior cool the AC is doing cooling. Worth it's weight / cost to run surely. AC on and maybe you want 15*oC in the car and it is 21*oC outside, is different from 29*oC outside and wanting 14*oC in the cabin. Good to have th choice if you want. As to the DQ200 DSG. Service Campaign '34H7' from 2014 was on ones from 2009-2012, pre summer build. MCU issue, synthetic oil changed to mineral & a software update. 2012 from the MY 13 cars got nothing. (sad for many owners because they had a high number of issues, by Skoda / VW were in denial. but we found the truth out later'. 2013-2015 got Service Campaign '34H5' started in 2017 in the UK / Europe for a software update because of accumulator failures. a preventative measure. Then there are generally MCU failures, or selectors or clutch packs. Plenty reason a DQ200 DSG might have been worked on, they were not all bad, but fitted to a 1.6 TDI CR there was a higher risk of issues.

@lol-lolObviously it works for you. But then you are among the higher earners that can put aside money with the help of governments from money from plebs that are just about getting by, or not even getting by and still be as tight with money as though you were born of Scottish Parents. Rishi keeps telling us how they paid half of peoples energy bills last year and they will help this year. They paid all of some people's who had to go cold, and maybe a fraction of some peoples that use lots and can afford to, because they splashed the cash to bill payers and energy companies whether or not they needed help or even resided in the UK last year or last winter.

Which DSG gearbox is fitted to a 2020 model year Superb Sportline Plus 280?
Which engined if any Superb got a DQ500 DSG? As Tina Turner sang # What has 4 years got to do with it? Other than if that happens to be at 40,000 miles or maybe 80,000. The Skoda 'Fixed Servicing chart' is just wrong. Considering the growing number of DQ381,s being posted on social media with issues, maybe with a keeper have them serviced long before 80,000 miles, but by a VW / Skoda approved repairer / dealer. and with the Filter replaced. But then they are going to say not required. See the Kodiaq Section and even the Karoq section. Maybe my post 8th June has enough links to give you the idea how the DQ381 might well be as bad as the DQ200 has for well over a decade. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/514055-karoq-7-speed-dsg-fault-4x4
