  1. Glasgow city council have 600 vehicles not compliant with ULEZ and they are hiring vehicles to go into the area. Even the vehicles required to uplift vehicles are non compliant. Pith up in a brewery stuff. Actually brewery deliveries are disrupted as is so much else. Tipping point. Not enough EV tippers, flat beds, bin lorries, just general vehicles for workers doing work.
  2. @cervaro67Welcome to the forum. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions No Recall, nor Recall Action or Service Campaign but there is a TPI and the fix need not cost a fortune. Mk3 Fabia Section has the threads. Like this one. It is a DQ200 DSG. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505730-weird-message-only-leave-vehicle-in-postion-p See post page 2 9th August 2022 by @varooom http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501580-error-workshop-only-leave-in-position-p
  3. Best check your local dealerships prices for what Skoda Fixed Price Servicing @ participating dealers are and are they participating, lots are becoming POA. Prices are rising rather quickly, and widely different area to area.
  4. Do you have a DQ381 DSG with the Service Schedule of 80,000 miles, or is it some other DSG? Are they going to change the Air Filter @ 4 years? Good if they do, too many never even check it at services. Brake Fluid is recommended @ 3 years / 30,000 and then each 2 years. Testing it is the least that should be done. skoda-allin-mot-and-servicing-terms-and-conditions (1).pdf
  5. That is enough too much more than Skoda Fixed Pricing for the trumpets doing your car. Just as well going on a wee day out to Skoda Specialist Cars Dundee rather than Skoda Perth also a John Clark dealership. Just my opinion / experience, knowledge of both workshops. (An old customer of Thomson & Potter Burrelton before John Clark took over and opened up in Perth.)
  6. Tyres might well be rotated a couple of times a year. But please do not put some mis-shaped crap with tread still on them to the front, Please do not start again this discussion. about Experts say, tyre fitters refuse to fit new tyres to the front etc etc. New tyres must go on the back, move used tyres to the front etc, over steer, under steer. Videos on skid pads, ice tracks etc etc. FWD and no grip, no steering, ABS required etc and who cares if the back wags the dog. You will maybe control the back end if you have grip / traction or the ABS or ESP will, crap hardened Factory fitted tyres off that FWD car might just have you hit something before the rear has time to step out. RWD or AWD then a bit of a different story. But still just fit good tyres, set pressures and do not drive like a muppet or a driving god with new back tyres.
  7. @MujBriSkodaWhere in the Highlands are you? I can maybe point you in the direction of someplace that will actually do servicing and maintenance, brake services etc. I take it that you will not use Hawco with crazy pricing, and Parks really are worth a swerve.
  8. Pollen filter might get done at 1 of the 2 services. & the Sparks should if they are going by their Recommendations, Guidelines or Specification. The Air Filter might not even get looked at if the car is not 6 years old or @ 60,000 miles. (If not replaced point out the website, and be sure what the T&C,s say.) But if there is a list of what items are done and included in the 'All in' that would be great. Extended Scope is as per Schedules or Recommendations @ 3 years / 30,000 miles & then each 2 years / 20,000 miles. EDIT. skoda-allin-mot-and-servicing-terms-and-conditions.pdf
  9. The 2 years servicing needs to include what actually needs doing @ 4 years and 5. They are not changing spark plugs @ 4 years are they or doing brake fluid @ 5 years. Are the changing the pollen filter @ 4 years. Is it just Oil & Filter service and then an Oil & Filter @ Extended Scope? Is the actual Service & Maintenance & Consumables Extra's? They are not doing the cam belt. http://insurewithskoda.co.uk/extended-warranty
  10. @MujBriSkodaIf you have a Mk3 Fabia and in the UK and under 3 years old so covered by manufacturers warranty tell them to go check the TPI and then with Skoda and replace the 'Turbo Waste Gate' free gratis to you & under warranty. Likely they will find that not needed if Skoda says no and you are not paying.
  11. @DonweatherI know, i used a file from an Australian Company to do a DSG years ago. http://hp.net.au/home/product-tag/dsg-tune http://hp.net.au/home/product-category/ecu
  12. It is an early 1900,s quote supposedly so really who cares from what London writer it originated from or if it is saved on their 'WhatsApp Group' from over a century ago.
  13. Heading off to try find some nice cool coastal path riding with water currently frozen in bottles.
  14. @DonweatherHardly a surprise.
  15. Welcome. ? What age / mileage / budget are you working on? ? Where did you get this coking up from? Condition condition Condition, & service history of stuff actually done and not just a FMDSH if it is just Oil & Filter changes and not the scheduled stuff. If Parks Skoda Hamilton had anything to do with the Servicing then you really want to see what was done. The Haldex (4x4 system) services are due at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner, & need more than just an oil change.
  16. @Retr0_D0gsJust so you know it is not an internet myth that Insurance Loss Adjusters do check Enthusiasts Forums. If you were to be unfortunately in having an accident then that is when Undeclared Mods might bite you in the bum. The third party insurance stays valid but the policy holder may get asked if they want to withdraw any claim they made. They might even end up paying for the insurance underwriters losses. There has been Loss Adjusters that were active on this forum and probably still are, or at least look in occasionally if they were dealing with a claim involving a modded Skoda. One that someone says that the car must have been altered from Factory Standard or Remapped before they bought it and they had no idea.
  17. Welcome to the forum. No out of sight out of mind if you post about mods done and not declared on an open forum. All you might being doing is driving with invalidated insurance.
  18. It sums up how many are with getting an EV and no prep, or none before trips. The first charger used are a PITA when the things reactions are slow and the buttons not clearly marked. There are a few I use that work ok, the original at Stirling Park and Ride is just so unreliable and the single one in Tomintoul just not worth trusting to be working..
  19. Welcome. I will flag your post so that a mod can move it to the Fabia MK3 section.
  20. Tesco momentum 99 E5 is not about 5% more expensive. It is less than that. It is maybe 6 pence a litre more expensive than Tesco Unleaded 95 Ron E10. If counting pence might as well get them accurate. Super unleaded in the UK is E5 and 97 or 99 octane but only has to have up to 5% bio. It might have none. E10 can have up to 10 bio, but might well not.
  21. BBC 1 Panorama tonight. Electric cars: Is it time to buy?
  22. @Hairy_Joe any I drive might have a reserve light come on and show the range and that range depends on how being driven and the average mpg in the recent miles before the light comes on. So out of interest what sort of mpg do you get from the vRS or 1.5 TSI when you head to fill up and what range does the different cars show when the light comes in?
  23. ? But does the red light come on with the same quantity of petrol in the tank?
  24. Welcome. Someone will be along that knows stuff like an answer to your question. ? When were the spark plugs last replaced and the air filter checked?
  25. Go anyplace as your car can do double the NSL on any fuel with the factory engine management and will keep up with modern traffic with the remap and even Esso Synergy+ 99. It might even be as quick off the line between traffic lights as a pizza delivery moped and not fry the clutch.
