  1. You are in the Fabia Mk3 section. They only did Euro 6 1.4TDI's for them. So if you want to talk oils for other TDI's or diesels then fine. This thread was about a 1.2 TSI Euro 6. VW-Approved-Oil-List.pdf There is the Fabia Mk2, Roomster & various other Euro 5 petrol engine oils chart with the engine codes and the oils. As people including garages and main dealers still go by. VW 502 00 perfectly fine for Fixed services, and with a 1.4 TSI / TFSI Twincharger 132-136 kW all i would use as Long Life Oil was and is an issue with them. As is only 3.6 litres in them.
  2. @Black_ThunderReally all that UK members here with a TSI are caring about is what oil they use or a Main dealer or an Independent might. For well over a decade that might well be Quantum or ot could be Castrol or anything. & VW502 00 was common enough until many just used Long Life so VW504 00 / 507 00 or now VW508 00 / 509 00 since the WLTP and VW going to 0w 20 FS IV. There are Main Dealers like Parks in Scotland that did Fixed Service deals and actually used VW 502 00 with TSI's and the owners never new that was part of getting the cheap deal.
  3. Nonsense, Where are you getting your duff gen? VW502 00 is the spec correct for TSI's / MPI's from when they were produced and if you want to use for Fixed Service Intervals. 5w 40 FS. If you have your links to your Volkswagen stuff on only 5w 30 FS III or 0w 30 FS III so VW 504 00 / 507 00 then good. TDI's require VW507 00 for fixed or variable servicing. Long Life.
  4. Fuchs Oils are the supplier to TPS in the UK and the partner with VW Group and the produces of Quantum oils.
  5. @Black_Thunder Fabia Mk2 from 2010 so facelift and there were still the engine code for Fixed Servicing only VW 502 00 could be used for Fixed Servicng with TSI's and MPIs, and it still can be right up to now, Euro 6 / 2023. COMMA oils come in all kind of Specs and they produce oil for other international brands. Nothing wrong with the correct oil to the correct spec from COMMA, unless someone has proof otherwise. Something they will produce not just an opinion.
  6. @MudBarfhe might see later that i posted and say if he can assist.
  7. New Builds are New Type Approved models. Mk4 Octavia are not new as type approved before 2022.
  8. Welcome to the forum. @ApertureSmight be the person that can help with the Cruise Control. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/368177-te-roomster-motorhome/page/2 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/471124-skoda-campster http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493694-campervan-conversion-help-please
  9. It is a Tiptronic gearbox and as far as i knew even after 8 years of them being introduced & ones over 100,000 miles there was no Service Schedule for checks or guidelines or recommendations. It is interesting and helpful that @varooomhas found that. It would be good to know what date that was published / available. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/269424-my-fabia-estate-petrol-16-16v-6-speed-tiptronic http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/344641-every-6-speed-tiptronic-gearbox-on-petrol-16-16v-fabia
  10. You might well have issue with ABS / ESP sensor and brake issues. You might well have damage to the tyre that you might only see when it is off the rim. .................... As to your Sainsbury experience of old & if they have anything wrong with diesel in the filling station tanks, there will be many many customers than you that got it so you should have simply asked them about this. Local Facebook and other Social media would have had that showing. The deliveries arrive in very large road tankers that might be going to several different sites and not only the one you bought your derv at.
  11. @EnterNameThe issue was different with the Twinchargers but worth knowing about as it was VW / Skoda not giving a damn and not listening to the issues, and not acting on them. Borewash was and is an issue, and even though they run on 95 ron the prescribed fuel was Super Unleaded. There are enough detergents in oil, and in the fuel, and when you have issues like borewash then an oil suitable for the temperatures the engine might be reaching and the fact the Standard Oil capacity is so low that you need good protection. (I never used just 3.6 litres, i used 4 litres as did others, and never used Long Life Oil, even doing oil changes much sooner than 9,400 miles / 12 months.) The first Twinchargers did not have a Service Code for Flexible / Variable servicing but had Long Life Oil from the Factory and got Long Life oil , VW504 00 /507 00 at Dealership services. 2011 the Servicing code changed from Fixed or Variable. They were better off IME with VW502 00 so not long life and the Super Unleaded. (Long life oil / short life 1.4 TSI / TFSI Twinchargers. The other issue was crap OE plugs, wrong gap, then the revised OE plugs with a different gap still crap. Inlet manifold cooked one plug, crap engine management etc.
  12. Until new type approved cars from 2014 on there were many that included ones used for towing that did not have ESP as standard. (Not including the Yeti in this) There were cars without ABS back in the day. Even cars without power steering. Times move on. If the car has been engineered to assist in towing being safer then there are reasons behind that. Not everyone is a driving god. Plenty still tow without Power steering, ABS or ESP and maybe with tyres more suited to offroad than on.
  13. Thanks. If full time AWD then sorry. So they have the 'quattro' system and 'quattro' badges but are not a Quattro.
  14. @Zedboywhat i meant was the capital Q for a Quattro or just Audi quattro as in the same as having haldex. Like these s-tronics which are just a DSG, or a TFSI which is a TSI but with a premium charged for a 'F'.
  15. I would expect to be paying the tariff for the time i am getting the energy. I did speak to a hybrid driver that was on a tethered AC in Dundee on the side of a Raid and got fined £10 for overstaying as the charger shows as a Rapid even though he was only getting 3.6 kWh and had a 12 kWh battery. That is a Dundee Council accounts error and CPS told him not their problem or error.
  16. Surely they know the tariff at the time and the kWh taken in that period, that is on your account, or paid on your card if you are paying that way. Not found the time limit yet for Aberdeenshire Rapids but i do not intend paying 47 pence unless desperate. As it is if there is a Max charge period you just stop using the card and then restart with another card not the CPS one. I though Angus were bad looking at 41 pence a kWh.
  17. If they fitted spark plugs they are getting the wrong parts. It should indeed last a long time used as a taxi or not. The issue is a TDI & the DPF if used as a taxi with short cold starts or sitting idling lots rather than doing longer runs. Mercedes were there doing the defeat devices on their cars which Skoda / VW had to stop doing by 2016 and Toyota are good as Taxis because they are what they are, Japanese.
  18. Welcome. Was that the glow plugs that were changed, because spark plugs replaced was never going to sort anything. Was the main dealer in Brockenhurst having cashflow issues and thought you could help them out? What makes the Independent think Skoda / VW UK will pay attention to anything they day or ask for on a car with over 100,000 miles?
  19. The OP says they have an Edition model, just not that it is a FWD one but it will be if fitted with that tyre size and still the original tyres. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444136-19-tyre-size
  20. @eddytHow many miles has this engine done and how long have you owned it? You have spent a fair amount on parts already without any success.
  21. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511708-tyre-change-options
  22. Any reports of cracked heads with 1.6TDI,s on this forum where there are rather a lot of members with these engines in various models for over a decade now?
  23. @Zedboy is that Quattros or quattros that you were spoilt by?
  24. Aberdeenshire tariff increase from 1st April. & offpeak overnight tariff.
