  1. Various configurations because of RAV4 from 1998 have different requirements engines etc. So get the pictures, see the battery dimensions, were the terminals are, there fitment size etc. Registration Number, VIN, or take the old battery to a Motor Factors.
  2. This crap. Tesla fully charged on the Rapid and locked in, and the Hybrid plugged into the 43 kW AC which is a rapid for some but only getting 4 kW soi could be on the 7kW posts using their own cable. I was able to get on another Rapid. Below, finally after many months the holders for the cables are not behind temp barriers. Pity Electric Vehicle Charging Only is not painted on the ground. But then the 2 bays should be kind of obvious what they are, and there is one little sign that those parking ignore.
  3. There are not standard sizes or positions etc on batteries so best use suppliers websites to check, or even a local motor factor. Others here would just be checking online as you or your friend can.
  4. Best look again. & if you get 16" rims you need the correct size tyres / width for whatever. @Carlstoncan tell you what is what.
  5. Rims / tyres get advertised on this forum and sometimes from members in Scotland. There is a for sale section. Plenty sellers of wheels including breakers and you might have more come back buying from a business compared to a private seller. No a car is not driveable with a damage rim if it is more than cosmetic damage like scrapes or scratches. Set your tyre pressures, reset the TPMS and see how the car drives, see how it steers and grips and brakes.
  6. A member appeared to have killed their 1.6TDI recently having run it with low oil. You oil level check after doing it cold to know there is oil should be done at Normal Operating Temp, so after the oil is at an indicated 90*oC or so, parked on the flat and after the engine stopped a few minutes. & the oil is to VW504 00 / 507 00 so 5w 30 FS III, do not use 0w 20 FS IV, that VW508 00 / 509 00 is not for your age of engine.
  7. Good thread revival.
  8. That happened as well so that any car could get the stolen wheels. Others just came off the transporter with what was fitted on the production like.
  9. Australia got Montes with 16" as well. A member here for a short time did good upgrades on his vRS and his good lady had a Monte. Looks great with these wheels IMO. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/248845-schumi2s-fabia-ii-vrs
  10. @DieselMontethere were Monte Carlo in Ireland that got Black Gigaro 17" because i think they came in wearing 16" rims. There were also cars that had wheels stolen off them as i remember from about a decade back. Fitted for the UK as well! http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/307063-black-vrs-alloys-on-a-monte http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/339405-gigaro-wheels
  11. Those are not Monte Carlo Trinity alloys, looks like Black Gigaro, but some Monte Carlo did get them fitted. (I sold a few sets of Black Gigaro in Scotland, or Dark Chrome that i painted black and left the silver / alloy rim showing / unpainted.) When you need new tyres you could go to 215/40 R 17 or 205/45 R 17 on those rims. You could change the rims for 16" or 15" and inform your insurance and quite probably pay nothing extra. As many do for winter wheels/ tyres, and the insurance in the UK do not have dates that cover winter, and you are in Scotland. Maybe you have an insurance broker that asks for £25 when you change things on a schedule / policy, but that is the greedy ones, or the muppets on the phone. You are not doing anything different fitting 16" rims to a Mont Carlo because that is factory standard size from Skoda in other world regions. That includes in Europe / EU. and the sizes for fitting Snow Chains as Skoda show in their bumf applies in the UK as much as in the rest of Europe / EU. PS I see new discs are fitted. ? Is there a spare 15" wheel / tyre in the boot and the tools, locking wheel nut socket, tweazers for nut covers etc.
  12. How many miles has it done and is this just recently or has it always sounded like this?
  13. Welcome. Someone will be along that can help hopefully. ? So what engine does your 2014 Fabia have?
  14. If you get 54.9 as an average over ownership then there must be times that it is shipping fuel at 70.6 mpg because there are plenty times it will not b getting 30 mpg.
  15. @z1ts Lovely. Just a heads up. Pictures show it is a DSG. You do not say that in ad or if a TSI or TDI. Just mentioning because the same happened over the gearbox in an ad for a Yeti.
  16. @Andy585 Enjoy the car. I get better mpg or range with my EV around Sunny South Ayrshire / A77 because of the average speed cameras, good roads for using 'Coasting Function' and generally different road surfaces from roads further north.
  17. WLTP is not real world, nor is RDE2. Not driving UK summer or winter of any days on UK roads with UK conditions or speed limits. Maybe with or without Stop start enabled or regens happening etc. So the only thing that matters is location location location and how you use, journey length etc. Ps. Manual or DSG. Tyres at comfort pressures, light loaded car or eco pressures, family car / taxi with actual people and stuff in it.
  18. Until it gets repaired you could get some rust inhibitor on, but the body repairer / painter will be taking that back to bare metal anyway.
  19. Guest_ replied to a post in a topic in Skoda Octavia Mk3 (2013 - 2020)
Good idea. Just find a trusted local place, decide who's map and have the car up to date with servicing, plugs, filter, oil & filter and go for it, maybe the engine & DQ200 DSG. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496005-octavia-mk3-14-tsi-remap
  20. Pretty silly IMO not to have it checked out on a ramp, wheels on and wheels off before leaving for a long trip, or any trip.
  21. E5 super unleaded 97 from Sainburry or 99 ronTesco Momentum might be £2.50 a tank more than their E10 Unleaded if you use that and maybe nothing more iof you buy your E10 from more expensive places. The Winter Spec E5 & E10 Petrol might be no longer delivered down south from this week and it will be the summer formulation they have until Oct / Nov.
  22. @Breezy_Pete No idea whos', it is out of a vRS Induction thread and moving the battery to the boot just like the Polo GTI Twinchargers are, or the kit for turning the battery around. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/308808-turning-the-battery-round
  23. Commonly with a Mk2 vRS Fabia it is where to put the positive that has people dithering.
  24. No point up-selling to people with cars that are on lease and that get free servicing and maintenance. Approval comes from the Owners. They are my tyres that i fitted to the car and not the ones that go back on when the car goes back and i asked the fitter to do a repair. I used to be the person that did repairs so have an idea what can and can not be done. If the tyre was none repairable i would have gone and got the originals to be fitted as i would not be buying a new pair. http://kwik-fit.com/tyres/information/tyre-repair http://motability.co.uk/get-support/if-something-happens/cars-wavs/tyres
  25. UK Tyres & Exhaust Centre employees commonly plug tyres if they can be plugged. KwikFit plugged a Michelin All Season tyre a few weeks back for me on my car from Motability that can get Free repairs or replacement tyres. This was after the car was in at a Main Dealers for work and the Technician spotted a screw in the tyre, marked the sidewall with chalk but failed to put on the work sheet or tell the reception or me that the screw was there. PS No idea when KwikFit stopped doing free puncture repairs for OAP's on a Wednesday.
