  1. They would really need to be manufactured a bit better than Skoda had them. 'Simply clever'. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/472241-door-protector-retrofit http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485966-door-protector http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446211-snapped-door-protector http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/455445-rear-door-protector-keeps-falling-off http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449637-door-protector-problem-fix
  2. The huge company that are VW Group are needing to be able to have Skoda UK selling more cars, but as it is people want to buy but can not get them actually delivered any time soon. 2021 Skoda delivered only 55,800 cars with all their models in the UK. Vauxhall sold 40,914 of just Corsas. Tesla 34,783 Model 3. VW sold 60,000 Polo & Golfs in the UK. Huge budget for advertising and they need to get to the right audience. The Kamiq is Skoda's 2nd best selling car worlwide now, but 120,700 in 2021 is not very many.
  3. Looks big. Lowest priced one sounds OK.
  4. I just got 5 miles per kWh with the weather @ 16*oC. That was not all down hill. That is thanks to the software update on my car this week. Also got the screen to show the graph of usage having put it to km per kWh. That is not available in the same way when on miles per kWh showing regen. Larry. But then being on kilometers is no use to me.
  5. Welcome. There is a default position at Dealerships. It is to blame the driver for overfilling. Without evidence or proof of any kind. The issue is one that they might never have seen or heard of other than when they have a driver to blame. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446243-adblue http://briskoda.net/478892-adblue-top-up http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/402452-adblue-issue
  6. Add into the factor the 4 miles per kWh he got. Add in that Home Tariff's are for those that can charge at their home or someone elses. Then calculate maybe the 3.5 or maybe 3 miles per kWh in colder weather, or the just 2.5 kWh that you might get and then the need to get on a public charger. Real world UK maybe November to April in parts of the UK.
  7. If they could have had the car as a Wi-fi hub they would have.
  8. So what it means is that there system is rubbish and they can not complete updates without interruptions and it crashing. Imagine a big main dealership that might have 5 cars a week to do but there are not enough days in a working week. That would be Skoda Main Dealerships in the UK.
  9. The advert caught your attention and you know which car was in the advert since you posted in the Kamiq section, so if you were on the market to buy a car it might stick in your mind, you might even research them. Maybe Skoda have to try harder and attract new buyers, dog owners or those interested in dogging. 3 years ago this one had people posting on Social Media as well. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444865-paloma-faith Always include a dog, they appeal to older people.....
  10. @Stubod I thought they advised that Cam Belts could be good for 70,000 miles and water pumps could fail sooner. Not seeing a saving when it is a 1.4 TSI.
  11. Do not fit a standard leisure battery then. Maybe fit an Optima.
  12. @StubodStrange advice from them. I wonder how many failed water pumps they have seen on 1.4 TSI's. If the water pimp leaks you change it, it is not like a Timing Belt failing on you. Water pumps on Euro 5 1.4 TSI Twinchargers can fail at not many miles, but those are engines with timing chains.

Looking forward to hearing from those with 1.5 TSI ACT's with a DSG and remap. Plenty threads already. briskoda 1.5 tsi tuning, or remap. eg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/489448-sportline-15-tsi-engine-tunermap http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474324-15-tsi-remap http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501075-15tsi-dsg-remapping-risks http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/471197-15-tsi-evo-remap

Talk to Eco-Tune. Then see what they say and your guy, and if you want to travel i can get you proper power, but you will need new clutches. DTUK. Big pinches of salt. But maybe they will give you a warranty. Not.

There is a little back up. But that is at your own risk. As i posted, people run 320 Nm +, but then others have expensive failures. Nice Winter spec E5 99 ron Min being delivered to Scottish filling stations from next week. Some might be 100 Ron / 100 +. Luck of the draw. Tesco Momentum 99. Lovely stuff.
  16. Guest_ replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
@Vlady Sorry. you have a Dq200. ? Who offered to remap and give up to 340 Nm with a 1.5 TSI running on 98 octane petrol? The UK Super Unleaded bring 97 or 99 octane minimum.
  17. Guest_ replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
A DQ200 if a Front Wheel drive. DQ200.s in a Skoda 1.4 TSI or a 1.8 TSI had DQ200's. these had 180 ps, but 250 Nm max which is the limit. VW Polo 1.8 TSI DSG 2014 on had 192 ps but just 250 Nm, the Manual has 320 Nm but the same engine and different mapping. People remap 1.4 TSI's to over 200 bhp and 300 plus Nm. Some to 320 + Nm. With 340 Nm i would want Uprated Clutch Pack and a DSG Software upgrade / Remap. I had that with a Mk2 Fabia 1.4 TSI Twincharger with a stage 2 remap and other bits and pieces. EDIT. Talk to http://ecotune-scotland.co.uk
  18. Very possibly one of the common issues, rear lights / seals, or the rear flaps. Best not google flaps! if at work. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449965-water-ingress-in-spare-wheel-well-estate http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488207-water-in-spare-wheel-well
  19. @Kevgem Do you really care if people you do not know and that are not anything to do with your loved ones tell you it is OK? Personally i would do that. But then i sometimes use All Season Tyres on the front of a FWD car and not on the rear or Snow tyres on the front and All Seasons on the rear. Not recommended by anyone anyplace really. But i have a devil not care attitude to advice and am not in the habit of crashing off the road in the past few decades, i did all that in my first decades of driving.

I am no god, but i know. DQ200 Twin Dry Clutch DSG's are perfectly adequate for FWD 1.0,1.2,1.4,1.5,1.8 TSI's up to 192 ps or 1.4 or 1.6 TDI's. AWD or 2.0 TSI's or TDI's get Wet Clutch DSG's. and now Hybrids might. ? So since you are certain it is a DQ200 DSG @Alanphe yours is a Front Wheel Drive only car, not an Edition or one with Haldex?
  21. So i got a call from the Branch Manager. A nice call with him apologising for my disappointing experience with the Servicing at the branch. Seemingly there has been discussions regarding what i put in the customer survey. Things clearly went wrong at various stages from the booking to the collection of the dirty car which was not ready for collection really. (I am to blame for the dirty car being handed over when it is going in for an inspection, but it was horrible weather and dirty country roads taking the car in. that is my excuse, normally i hand in clean cars and say do not wash them.) So someone might have had their ear chewed, and maybe really the staff have been told to get their act together. Then there is the fact that they have Corsa Electrics as Courtesy Cars and there was no need for all the nonsense with Motability getting the RAC to arrange a Europcar Hire car for 7 days from Perth delivered to Dundee. (Or RSA the insurers for Motability calling me to see what accident i was in that required them to provide a hire car.) Now waiting or still waiting on Motability responding to the Survey they sent me & which i responded to, then there is the one that Vauxhall sent to me on the performance of their Dealers and the cars. Maybe my language was a bit too explicit for them.
  22. Guest_ replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
@AlanpheJust to be certain. Is your Karoq is a 1.5 TSI DSG and Front Wheel Drive only, & not a 1.5 TSI DSG with AWD? I just ask because there are those with DQ381's that have been told they are Dry Clutch DSG's.
  23. Guest_ replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
The DQ200's have 2 oils, in the box and in the MCU and indeed have no servicing guidelines, schedules or recommendations for oil changes. No idea who it is that suggests with lots of city driving an oil change would be a good thing. (There are people that do change the oil, but more likely to get that wrong than doing a good preventative measure.) @Alanphe They have Mechatronic Control Units be them wet or dry clutch. But as @NottsIanposted, the wet clutch DSG have the oil shared oil in the DSG.
