  1. No call back, 4 times not actually transferred from reception to service desk, dead lined twice now, hanging in again. So this is pretty much Arnold Clark as usual. Best dealt with early in the morning. or never. LOL. I can not download the video. Maybe later though. Hopefully they send on to Motability and if not i will be doing. What a rusty mess of a car underneath, but then it is 2 years past August since First Registered and kept outside in Scotland & driven on salted and gritted roads. It was build nearly a year before registered and then held up pre transit and during transit because of lockdown. The brakes need serious servicing and replacing of discs and as for suspension parts they will be interesting to see in 10 months time when in for a MOT. There is a lot to be said for rear drum brakes on an EV. EDIT. PS So i will knock that on the head until i hear the car is ready to collect. If the work advised on the Health Check video has not been carried out then i will not be collecting it until done. If Motability says it was not really required to be done then i will not be collecting it, ever.
  2. Corsa electric still with dealership. Before servicing the Recall actions were being done. Software update. Seemingly it was at 97% and the system crashed. So tomorrow they will try again. This might be a Robert the Bruce's spider type event. PS. EDIT. Health Check video arrived. Rear Discs shagged, Pads OK. They advise replacing. Front OK need a clean up. A bit of scoring. *Actually crap and need more than an Italian Tune Up, or Skimming.* That is for them To strip & clean. The car is in for Servicing & Maintenance. 4 Tyres OK. depth OK. **Should be Michelin Alpin 6 fitted. ** (Not actually OK, there is a cut front drivers side wall which seems to have been missed.) They are my tyres though and i will deal with. So the Tech seems to not know it is a Motability Car & they will be getting it done and after they tell Motability, not me. Tells me the Coolant is low, they topped up, ran the car, no visible leaks. Advice might need to come in again for investigation. Well it is an Electric car. It is the Heat Pump system, slow drop. Setting it's own level and if no checks can be done now what are they going to do? Currently on hold waiting, to tell them to go call Mobility, tell them the rip off price to replace all 4 discs not the just the very scored rears and one front scored disc, and new pads. For once they are correct in advice to replace.
  3. @toeIt would be useful if you said what engine you have and if a manual or DSG. There is the alternative to it being the water pump causing the issue if it is a DSG. Is the cost of the Diagnosis not more than just reading fault codes, as in carrying out a bit of a look see. In the UK the Fixed Price Servicing and maintenance is £60 for the first 30 minutes. So car in and plugged in and that is under 30 minutes if all that gets done, not going to be 30-60 minutes & the £110 cost Service Desk staff might quote. You are not paying for them making personal phone calls, having a wee break / cuppa.
  4. 'They' have done all sorts. They had not done that in 2008/2009 though. So what comes since does not really matter.
  5. Better in the p1ssing down rain like tomorrow in parts of the UK where others will be having a scorcher after a cold night or a mild night. Maybe a few heatwaves will be coming over the next April. Winter Fuel starting to be delivered in the North in the next 3 weeks. Not necessarily will fuel consumption increase because of that, because maybe the weather is not that colder that much while it is on sale. E10 Winter Formulation will be the same around the UK once it is delivered in the south. E5 might well not be as a winter formulation, same as not in the summer.
  6. @mrvinylWelcome. PIP Motability component is £64.50 a week, so full allowance to pay a car from Motability is £258 each 4 weeks. It is £279.50 a month. Still good value, but then unless a low or nil advance payment which is mostly on EV's now unless a car manufacturers want rid of that is at least £10,062 over 3 years. That is all in with Servicing, no VED, insurance included. You do not need to lose your NCB anymore while on a 3 year lease or as a named driver with Motability. Insurers will look at your Accident history or claims and might allow 5 years of not holding a personal pollcy. This has been the case for quite a few years now. I first went with Motability in 1978 and have had 11 cars in that time, some on lease and 2 bought using HP when they did that. I used to need my own cars as well as 12,000 miles a year was not enough, going to 20,000 miles a year was a game changer. I have done 35,000 miles in my EV in 26 months and am still under £150 in what it has cost me in Electricity & 2 CPS cards. They were £20 each. @WolfiefromWolves Have you looked at EV's like a MG or even a Kia / Hyundai as an option? ................................................................................................................. Motability SUV's in Petrols & Diesels might be available on the list.but the advance payments are a factor. There are sometimes good deals in a quarter if they suit what anyone is after. This is what the lower Advance payment ones are in the normal list this quarter. Bottom list is from this Quarters Highlights.
  7. Ahh the freezing south, i so worry for all down there as winter hits you hard and early. Regardless of your tyres fitted then anyone that does drive where field run off freezes you know you are up sh-it creek without a paddle when you hit sheet ice if not paying attention.
  8. The only White goods i can think of that you put on for a short while are the Washing Machine, Tumble Drier or the cooker. No idea how old a cooker needs to be to not have a timer. You only have to be in the house and go switch them on @ off peak times. As to timers that go into the plug socket and switch on, my gran had them 70 years ago for night lights and even the electric blanket and so had my dad for the Greenhouse heater.
  9. Some are saying it is a fixed price for all Skodas, but they are not anymore with all main dealers quoting with a TDI nor a 1.5 TSI. If they are doing them for all the same price then nice. Electric Car Servicing might strike some as being cheap and nothing to do, well there is brake fluid, filters, coolant, there is 12 volt battery then the usual, looks see and hinges and locks and what ever. Brake discs corroding from not much use and pads actually wearing cleaning rust off.
  10. The Golf is rather good. oil service due in 900 miles. Tyre pressures were correct. Just a 115ps TDI but shifts in S and the paddles are good but there is not much engine braking. 70 MPG will be easy on back roads 77 mpg average was when i stopped and reset things and tried to get a dash and gauges and radio station and AC and everything else. There are buttons, far too many, and light touch stuff and touch screen. Not for me, but comfy and handles well. Limited to 75 miles a day then an access charge of 35 pence a mile do not going to be going over the miles with it.
  11. Surely or Shirley it can. But that would require the engine to have fired up. Which they are not if running purely on electric. 3 mile trip.
  12. Good reminder for the OP. Air bag compatible. If the seats have airbags.
  13. Flush that engine. With what engine oil is in there. Then filter and see what has come out. Run the engine to operating temperature and drain it hot while being careful removing the drain plug, or just suck out the oil. Maybe when you first get a used car remove the sump plug, next services just suck out. IMO.
  14. Is this a Skoda Approved car, or from a Skoda or VW Dealership? That would be someone doing the DSG service for less than the £215 Main Dealers charge. Which some might. I would want to see that 100,000 miles Recommendation or guideline or schedule in writing from a Skoda source. But they are putting a warranty on the car. As long as the T&C's are available then good. citygo brake warning light (2).MOV
  15. Welcome. It required a Haldex Service @ 3 years / 30,000 by Skoda / VW Recommendations, guidelines or schedule. So if not done it is overdue. If the DSG is a DQ381 then the DSG Service Schedule is @ 80,000 miles, if some other wet clutch DSG it is at 40,000 miles. There is not a 4 year schedule, it is by miles / km.
  16. I received a phone call this morning. 'We see that your car is coming in for a Service and 2 recall actions.' 'It is just that one of the recall actions can take quite a few hours and could you maybe leave the car for more than one day'. So i said that was really no bother and why a Hire Car should be dropped off with them this afternoon and i have it for up to 7 days as i gather there can be issues with the Recall action. So if it all comes together the car is heading off into their capable hands later. I have my Driving Licence Code ready, but no call yet asking for credit card details for charging me for 'Fuel' if i do not fill it up. What it might be i have no idea but if not an Automatic that will be another of these little things that happen. Edit, PS. A Golf TDI DSG. Maybe off for a wee skoot around the NC500 then...
  17. Odd that the Bodyshop Manager should mention the Yeti. Different matter as in Zinc Inclusion. Maybe he manages though and is not a Panel Beater / Painter or qualified in such things. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/341311-rust-spots-on-lower-door/page/7 Not a pretty picture. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/421511-new-to-me-skoda-yeti-adventure-but-rust Plenty Zinc Inclusion threads on Briskoda in the Yeti section. They start in 2015 and continue. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478746-zinc-inclusions-and-paint-wear
  18. Try heating the cabin while plugged in at home. Pre-heating. Read your meter, then see how many kWh is used and needs replenished when you get back home. Good that you have a 25.5 pence a kWh tariffs charging 9 kWg for £2.30. ? Are you keeping the battery up to 100% ready for heading off places, and would it not be better to keep just below 100% and if you need to put in the last few % do that before a longer journey. PS @ 3*oC a BEV might do 2 to 2.5 Miles on 1 kWh from a cold start with heated seats, steering wheel and heater turned up and heating in a minute or 3. Mine sometimes does just 1.5 miles per kWh when well below 0*oC from starting of and doing 2-3 miles only.
  19. Guest_ replied to Dave-Yeti's topic in Skoda Yeti
@Trevor M The obvious thing reading the thread is that it is about a 140 TDI and not 170's. Apples and pears.
  20. Winter coming around again so did you ever get the AC working during a rather warm Summer, or the brakes serviced and working well?
  21. Someone will be along to help. ? Who put in the new battery, and when? Was the new battery coded?
  22. @ThamesValley Welcome. Servicing can not have been much is it. Oil and filter changes and looks sees. No Air Filter changed or Spark plugs at 4 years and only about 26,000 miles. ?Has the Air Filter even been looked at? ............. Bottom in green, pre 2020 Servicing, how it used to be. Minor & Major Servicing or even Major & Major.
  23. @Stillwaitingforoctavia Just nosy but how much was that ridiculously priced protection pack that they knocked £100 off of. I hope 4 years servicing is actually Servicing to the manufacturers recommendations so there will be Brake Fluid changed @ 3 years, spark plugs at 4 years etc.
  24. Check that Oil Filler cap is on correctly, and the dipstick is where it should be. Dip the oil cold and see how much there is, and then dip at operating temp after at least 5 miles at this time of year. Was that service at a Main Dealers, & How much did the service cost? After you check under the bonnet i would be asking where it was serviced if there was any Software Update carried out, and have the person check that with who did the work. If there was ask why you were not informed. ? Was the Air Filter actually replaced? It was not due to be, but if checked and requiring a change it should be. But then you would be paying for that. On the old Service Regime pre 2021 the Spark Plugs were replaced @ 4 years / 40,000 miles as were the Air Filter. That changed with the Oil & Inspection Services & Extended Scope.
