DSG clunk - normal or not?
@MPoll1994 Welcome to the forum. It is worth putting a post in the Kamiq section about your DQ200 DSG's behaviour and see if others are having the same issue as you. The OP's car was 2 years old but that was 3 years ago. ? What is your car, a 1.0 or a 1.5TSI DSG?

Kodiaq Cooling System
? How many km do you do from a cold start in winter with 18*oC ambient before the Oil gets to an indicated 90*oC? The issue with your car needs addressing whatever they might say. That will most likely replacing of a part. Warm up time when Idling is not something that matters really. It is started and driving and how soon. The Ambient temp etc. you talk of for winter has not much in common with much of the UK. Your cold start warm up time for the coolant with a 'Cold Start' at 18*oC winter ambient temp would be many people in the UK's Summer temperature. More towards 0*oC might be a winter temperature to start off at.

Skoda Electric Models
This is to be smaller and cheaper than the Fabia sized one so 5 seats unlikely. No idea why Skoda are so keen to show what they can build sometime maybe when they can not get enough MHEV & PHEV out just now or even the EV's with all components fit for purpose as with ones members here are not collecting till fixed.

Used Car Prices
@J.R. Penny pinching to the nth degree, ssshhhh!. Every item from the car arriving to going out the door, transport, itemised & costed, and done at not the cheapest, not as far as the 'sheet shows', inspection, correction, valet / ptrp, new plates, stickers, Servicing if you can call it that. then the 'Service and Warranty' Plan when not added to the buyers finance, the free as part of the deal. Plenty nice cars about for staff usage. Do not have the lovely 'Demonstrators' soiled by potential customers like HMRC are giving the tax brakes for exactly that. https://gtg.co.uk/about A love in with the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland and others is such a good move. Electric Scotland. Host events, be where ever you need to be with EV's helping Scotland get to Net Zero. The more ICE vehicles that can be put off the roads the better, Sir Arnold would be so proud of how well it is going. Training will need to be much more intensive than it ever has been over the decades.

MK3 choice
Welcome. No idea about a DSG being scary, maybe you mean unreliable. Try one, they are a joy. Do not worry about a newer 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG with a 1.8 TSI. No point getting a 2.0TDI if you are doing lots of short runs. IMO. Maybe @PetrolDavewill give you some advice on a 1.8 TSI / DSG L&K as he recently got one i think.

There is nothing wrong with most of the Motability cars and motability is the biggest group buyer in the UK. Cars serviced to manufacturers recommendations and usually now that is Variable Servicing so maybe 1 service at 2 years on a low mileage and another 2 months before 3 years and a MOT 1 month before. There are no a huge number abused with many drivers or hired out, loaned to others with no disability or disabled passengers. After the Motability funds where at the disposal of the major banks from 2008 and the banking crash then swapping and returning cars became easy & the £26,000 cap on the cost of cars never happened. Sir Arnold never got to where he did without knowing where to get good cars cheap and doing as little to them as was possible. If the cars had new tyres on them before the reached the workshops, and wipers and were serviced and cared for inside with little wear, and body damage usually having been repaired properly with the person with the lease paying only £75 a hit, and any warranty work done without a song and dance from the manufacturers, & then the millions can just keep rolled in. Nobody losses really other than tax payers. Now car go to BCA and Motability sits on Billions of a slush fund which only millions go back to the customers or tax payers. The major banks can use the billions of quid.

If Skoda can have a New EV for sale in UK Dealers before the end of 2026 for under £20,000 they are amazing. Maybe less than £20,000 for the car and must be on credit with a 50% APR. The UK is where the GBP is the currency used. They must have Diane Abbott doing their accounting & Derren Brown their media releases. They might as well start building Skoda Citigo iV's again for the UK if materials / batteries are so cheap http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/skoda/304438/new-electric-skoda-suv-to-cost-less-than-ps20000

Arnold Clark or the other named dealerships they own have never not done well. Even selling less cars / vans etc they make huge profits and can manage to make the overheads high so that they pay less tax. They have everything done by businesses that are their own and all along there is stuff to pay and people making money / profits. Back in the day when AC started doing 'Interest free cars' which were 3 year old cars that they had Buy Back on from Motability that really changed the Used Car Market, not only in Scotland. Motability cars at that time were limited to 12,000 miles a year. Dealers that wanted to supply and buy back put on mud flaps and put in mats and cars were very well serviced and cared for in the 3 years when any parts / warranty work was needed. Arnold Clark did great out of Motability cars, fleet cars and much else. Eventually Ford & Vauxhall had had enough, as had Motability Customers and we got 20,000 miles a year with the lease. Subaru & Fiat and others offered Disabled buyers good deals because they were not getting Motability customers, before those years BL had done the same thing. Having a Green card / Orange Badge got you a discount on a new car.

Remap thoughts please?
It could. It might, it can. You could put in D and it will go through the gears, up and down, maybe stay in top if you floor the accelerator in top 6th if and old box or 7th, or maybe drop a gear or 1 or 2 or 3. Put in S and it will hold the gears longer but do the auto thing.. You might decide to manually change gear because it is a Semi-Automatic and it might decide to ignore you at times if you go to low with your gear choice.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
So waited all this time to get the car in this Week. 2 Recalls which were not done when in for the first EVHC which they called a Service and they never did. So eventually the RAC are supposed to have a car there the night before from EUROPCAR, courtesy of Motability. Tomorrow on the phone if i ever get through or a call back i might find out if the have an EV Technician in on Thursday to do the Recall Actions and a 2nd Service or EVHC or whatever. If the car goes in and the Recall Actions are not done then the car will not be getting collected until they are. Micky Muppet Road Show with this crowd.

Other than the colour and only one flipper it looks like this. No idea what it tells you, does it maybe mean Auto-Lock not activated.

2018 Octavia VRS (245) vs 2017 IS300H
@adj209 You had best go out and drive some big boy cars then. Maybe try a boring EV and see which car gets you up to 60 mph quickest then stopped again without any dramas or anyone around even aware you were accelerating quite quickly.

Remap thoughts please?
@MarkyG82Do you shift up to a higher gear to get the best performance when doing spirited / sporting driving or do you hold the gears longer? If you drop a gear rolling along singing a song, decelerating etc. If you want to boot your Remapped engine and want to get that power / torque you paid for are you going to go up a gear or down a gear to a lower gear to get a shift on, hit the sweet spot in the RPM, get the most go go to get that whatever off your tail? (Not the caravan.)

Anything to look for buying a used Karoq?
Auto hold functioning, clutches disengage, foot brake applied the clutches disengage, e-brake the clutches are not engaged. Cars still with a Manual Hand Brake like with a Kamiq, Scala, Fabia and the DQ200 DSG clutches are not dis-engaged when the hand / parking brake is applied and in D or S.

http://www.bca.co.uk/Services/partner-finance http://bca.co.uk BCA / British Car Auctions lend money to Traders / Dealers to buy cars at auction for their stock so now with interest rate rises that will be interesting to the cars in stock and money owed. But then the money in the car trade is all about finance and it is overseas finance that owns the companies and the lending. They are Money Lenders. http://www.cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/boss-of-arnold-clark-faces-64-8m-tax-bill-after-dealer-groups-performance-rockets/253188 http://arnoldclark.com/about-us John Clark Motor Group. Yeti burning oil. Should pistons and rods be replaced as well as piston rings?
@BrettJ Similar as in they use oil, different in that you have a TDI & not a Euro 5 1.8 or 2.0 TSI.
