  1. Welcome. Sorry no idea but hopefully someone with a ASG will know, maybe having had this issue. Personally i would say best she learns to drive and pass her Automatic test without hill hold assist working. She might need to drive an automatic in the future without it. ? Has your car had a Brake Fluid change at anytime, if not best have that done.
  2. http://lovemyev.com/explore/ev-tafiffs/ev-tariffs The Government spends the peoples money. Green is kidology as is Ofgem approved renewable energy certificates. Like Carbon Trading. http://octopus.energy/green Octopus provides energy to & from the National Grid, Octopus owns wind farms and means of generating renewables. They also burn woodchip pellets. The Government call energy from DRAX green, it is not emissions free. Energy is sold and bought on a global market. EDF have Green Energy production in the UK and export to France where customers pay 2 1/2 times less than we do in the UK. But then the French Government / the people own 85% of EDF. I have seen my first Octavia iV public charging. No problem with how long it sits getting a free charge, there are other hybrids and EV's that sit for hours, and some sit all day or night. Nobody is getting just Renewables electricity from the National Grid. You need to be generating your own to know if you get from wind, solar, hydro etc. 14 mins, 30 seconds.
  3. Calm before the storm rolls in.
  4. Welcome. All the best with it and hopefully someone here can help you set things up. Unrelated, but, Remember if you have not done already, check the coolant and oil levels, and the tyre pressures are safe and reset the TPMS. If it happens to be something not completed at the Dealership that did the PDI just tell the Dealer Principal your hourly rate is £115 if you need to take the car in to be sorted out or they can send someone out to the car.
  5. Because other customers are waiting for their diagnosis and repairs and seeing as they have a Skoda that will be Warranty Work in many cases. So no need for 'never seen that before' as there is nothing new if that is your full time job unless you started last week. if, 'they all do that', then fixing them should be pretty straight forward. You can use any Authorised Skoda Repairer if they have a slot. But maybe best avoid Parks of Hamilton or any location.
  6. If the car is safe to drive and you feel safe driving it then do that until it can go in for a diagnosis. If it fails while on warranty then good, you get a new box, or clutch packs, selector fork or what ever. Pay for a new warranty and all is good. If not safe to drive call Skoda Assist and have a hire car delivered by them. But the responder you had out should have said if safe or not in their opinion , they could have arranged a car. ? How many miles had the car done?
  7. It will be £115 inclusive of vat after 30;minutes to 60 minutes if not covered by warranty. So go to a Glasgow Automatic specialist or a mechanic and ask them if they can do a test drive. The leak is another matter. Ps. Explain to the Auto specialist that you have a Skoda Warranty and can not have work done now. Maybe they will say on your bike. Maybe get your custom in the future. Luck of the draw.
  8. Was that not the person at Henrys? They are not Skoda but a participating dealer in Skoda UK,s fixed servicing and maintenance. So first 30 mins is £60. Unless that has stopped. I have not seen or heard your car, but the cattlegrid rattle was common. But the rattle on a car running ok is not common with a DQ200 or something I have come across.
  9. Ps. First 30 minutes of diagnostic £60. So ask on that. If a warranty claim is valid then no issue. If something minor like a disc cover or brake pads they might waive the £60 or £115 if doing the quick diagnosis and work for you paying. PPS. Is that not £115 including VAT,. Like the £60 is. Vat included.
  10. If you were advised not to drive the car then call Skoda Assist for then to arrange a hire or courtesy car. Other wise the rattle might not be DQ200 related. It could be disc brake cover related or stone trapped or anything that a Responder could have checked for. Ps. Service desk staff like those courtesy cars there for those and such as those. Staff nipping off doing a wee bacon 🥓 butty run. They can have an actual technician take your car for that run. Road test. 15 mins max.
  11. A google search. Skoda 1.4 TSI twincharger air intake gets up Peregrine performance, Forge, ITG, Awesomes websites etc.
  12. Do you want modified intakes rather than standard replacements?
  13. A mod can move this to the Mk2 Section. Have you priced the parts from a Skoda Main Dealers parts desk?, they are available in a day or 3. and not expensive. They might even come into them from TPS, can buy from there. https://tps.trade
  14. They do not drive like a Mk2 Fabia of any flavour / wheel size IMO. They feel more solid. I have driven automatic Fabia hatch & estates with Tiptronic and DSG's and also Roomsters with both these autos.
  15. Welcome. Sorry i can not help but someone that can tell you how to code out the Side / Position lights should be along. Would you not consider keeping them on and adding in the rear sidelights coming on with the ignition. Does anyone other than yourself that sees the cars lights in daytime really care what they are seeing if at least they are seeing a moving vehicle approaching?
  16. The Roomster Project section has a nice selection. They need preserving as classics. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/434341-20-tdi-implant-for-16-roomster http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/208309-jonny-5ives-my-08-roomster-scout http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/209946-j5s-roomster-scout-sold
  17. @Rich210I used 195/80 R 15 Insa Turbo Rangers for a few years on an Automatic Jimny when i did not use Insa Muds, and they were good on Snow. The same tread pattern as the BFG Goodrich A/T's i had on my 110 Land Rover. The Orange Jimny on the snow is on Yokohama Geolander G012's.
  18. Trying to make money off you, or trying to save you money because you end up needing to spend 2,000 euro getting the clutch packs replaced. You have to decide. So you can do stage 1 and not do anything to the DQ200 DSG. Or do it and do something like remap it. ? Do the company that can remap to stage 1 but say no need to remap the DSG actually do a DSG remap if you want it, or is that not a product they have? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/416315-remapping-16-tdi-with-dsg
  19. There are so many cars out there during this supposed shortage of used cars that drove up the asking prices of used cars and inflation. During lockdown anything that came in the country got registered and especially if they were supposedly low C02 emitters. Lent out to NHS or whoever, leased out, bought by Motability and leased out. Cars that were never raced or rallied, well not on a track but just miles put on them and then back to the owner & on to auction or to the Pile them high and sell them cheap or not so cheap. Actually for more than they are really worth. Banks, financial services / Insurance companies and foreign finance and investment money into online companies buying cars, turning cars around and maybe even making losses or what looks like a loss as you pay tax on profits and paying back borrowed money means your profits are low or zero.
  20. Welcome. Best talk with who you would use to do a remap. I would not use a Plug in Tuning box. The DSG can be remapped as well. It should be fine if you were looking to just go to 150 PS or so. The DQ200 DSG works fine as long as not faulty and can handle more than the 250Nm that VW has as the limit for it. People run tuned petrol engines with over 200 bhp & 300 Nm with a standard DQ200, clutches and ECU / Manuagement.
  21. I do hate helping to finance his videos and cars by watching them and having to listen to the tripe. Even if i could afford a Porsche Tin Can EV i would not want one. I wish i could afford to buy Porsche Shares when VW sell off Porsche so that i had a financial interest in Porsche that charges customer lots of money so that they can run something that they think makes others envious of their success. He will get an ulcer, maybe have a stroke and end up needing an easily accessible vehicle.
  22. Truth of the matter is the car is what the car is, a big heavy lump of a people and stuff carrier that is designed and built as all manufacturers Plug in Hybrids to assist them in getting the Average Co2 g/km figures required up until the Euro 7 emissions comes in. They work for some business users for tax reasons and employees and for private owners / drivers as well. The reason that the miles that can be done in EV mode is so low is the reason the UK government stopped throwing tax payers money the way of the Motor Trade, Manufacturers and Business users. Kidology is the issue. If they could make them as Range Extenders with the Engine charging the battery which drives the wheels they would. Others have done that and built the taxis and vans that are now on sale. VW is always behind the curve, they were building factories to build Diesel Hybrids and then the Defeat Device Scandal bit their bum.
  23. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505938-i-need-help-with-sorting-some-computer-settings-that-have-suddenly-just-been-lost @hetty1 Has some other helpful person at the dealership taken 10 minutes to show you how the systems work and how to choose screens and to use the scroll wheel on the steering wheel? They have usually never heard of it before, or 'they all do that'. That is because the Sales People were maybe selling white goods or doing some other job just recently and know nothing about cars really. Book them in and put them in the hands of the Service Desk Staff who know even less, and might get told something by an actual Technician who might have seen it before, or actually seen it and fixed it.
