  1. Sorry no idea. How many miles on the car now, and has there been any servicing recently, even the air box opened and the Air Filter checked?
  2. Welcome. Have you checked the spare tyre well is dry? You are doing the sensible stuff. When you can in winter get a Greenhouse Heater in if parked up and the windows a little open to dry things out. Get Damp traps in the car and boot, and change them as required. Do not leave anything not needed in the car and remove damp / wet mats and dry overnight or whenever.
  3. Welcome. Best not wait for Misfires enough in a cycle to give fault codes and have an Exhaust Emission light come on. Check them and as well to replace since they are out. ? Are you using E10 95 ron, or E5 97 or 99? If not using super unleaded it is maybe worth getting a tankful and see how that goes.
  4. Your DSG was not due a Oil change. As a 40,000 mile schedule. Software updates / enhancements are part of a Main Dealer Service if they show when the car is plugged in for the Diagnostic Check which shows as part of a service, or if there is a TPI. Maybe the car is not plugged in, the same as Wheels are not removed, or a car is actually road tested. So anyway it is not unusual that the Service Desk reception person knows nothing so can tell you nothing other than maybe about some up-selling they would like to do as they are trained to do. Best use a good independent to service your vehicle. One with licensed equipment and more than ideas. Maybe even one that is a Dealer for Remapping / Tuning companies. Often Dealership Ex Master Techs, .................................... In Green how it was. and with some still how it is. Actually do stuff and not just look and report, or not report/
  5. @ajm83 Was that your car in for a service then? What was getting done, and was the DSG due an oil change? ? Was the Master Tech you spoke to evasive, or was that Service Desk Staff, maybe the Service Manager? Sometimes you have to remind them you own the car, you pay their employer for them to work on your car and the Official Secrets Act or Data Protection does not apply. You are customer / owner / driver, they either know or do not know, but if they will not say go ask the boss. They have the best Demonstrator and a desk with a view.
  6. The Mahle filters were manufactured only a skip and jump away from where you are, and i always used them. Nothing special with parts with a VW/Audi logo on them. They are just whatever VW Group can procure while screwing the manufacturer down in price to supply. That is why many blow VW Group off.
  7. That is some price for Filters. A Taxi Discount was nice and buying parts for a Skoda with a warranty from new even if used as a private hire taxi. What a shame that anyone buying a Skoda Approved used car with a Skoda Warranty will find the Warranty no valid if the car is used as a Private Hire Taxi.
  8. Hopefully someone can help. No idea why you consider it to be a bit of a gimmick. When did it last work, or you use it?
  9. @Jpotter Not any help. but just interested in this Red water level light. What does this Coolant Level light look like. Does your fathers car also have a Coolant Gauge? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497431-flashing-red-coolant-warning-light PS. Make sure the shifter is properly in P, or it can be at N and foot hard on the brake when attempting to start it.
  10. Sorry but tried looking at the downloads and not getting anything. I can not see the Light. If the car is on the slope is the Hill Hold Assist not holding the car for a couple of seconds then? Go to a VW,SEAT, Skoda Specialist or an Automatic Specialist and get the matter resolved. Maybe best keep the threads / posts simple & to one place. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507170-citygo-auto-hill-hold-help-please http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493682-citigo-asg-rolling-forward-in-reverse
  11. @matchboxwhat size rims have you got to put the tyres on and what size tyres are you fitting? Are these to be the same as the car came with, or if you fit 4 might you change the size? Good performing 'all season' 3 peak winter certified tyres need not be expensive and need not be from Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear, Continental or other major brands, they can be from companies they own though, like ones that Michelin own. Kleber, Tigar, Riken etc. If in a rural / country area with an Independent Tyre Fitter, or even the likes of ATS Euromaster who are owned by Michelin as are Blackcircles, then visit them, see what others in your area get fitted, rural folk, farmers, carers, district nurses etc. People who might not only know the price of stuff but the value of them and spend where they need and not on what they do not need. I like TIGAR tyres and have used them as i have used Kleber tyres in the past.
  12. 70,000 miles is not fast wear for what are maybe supposed to be sporty discs for sporty drivers who use brakes to go faster unlike others who hardly touch their brakes and discs are just a rusty mess. If the last a nice long time maybe not much braking gets done and pads get changed at the rate of 3 sets for 1 set discs.
  13. @DieselMonte are you still on 205/40 r 17,s or have you gone to 215,s ? I read your on Sport is that the least assistance on your car? ,...,.,...., Different Mk2, vRS or Monte by age have different ways to change, Some GTI some another name / code. Winter tyres, or narrower i reduced assistance. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/236545-power-steering-adjustment http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/294303-vcds-steering-assist-polo-gti-setting http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/318138-vcds-steering-settings
  14. Service books were dropped before 2015 and it went on the system, but that is sparse. **The mileage is the important bit. It would help.** Well my nosieness. More needed though, Not enough there. You need a Service history for your Haldex servicing @ 3 years / 30,000 miles & DSG @ 40,000 miles. Brake fluid change recommended is @ 3 years as well. do dates match?
  15. This might be a warning to overs but not a nice way for you to find out. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/464763-skoda-extended-warranty I have upset a taxi driver in the past saying that the car was their business and the warranty was covering a new car but not a used one. They said their dealership did not care, sign off etc. and they no longer did the taxi runs. Dealerships are not clear enough about cars they sell and warranties. In Dundee when the cars got DPF's there were dealerships that had buyers sign that they had explained to them the diesel might not be suitable for use as a Taxi. These were white plate private hire cars on Lease and without meters and which might or might not be getting clocked.
  16. @Aakayamy Was this a Skoda Approved Used car with a Warranty you bought? The T&C's there will need to exclude, Taxis, Private Hire, Couriers etc. The Skoda Aprroved Extended Warranty with Car Care ltd used to and i used to warn buyers of that to read the T&C's. EDIT. Sadly you are stuffed there. Unless you told the place you bought it from's salesperson that it was a Taxi you were buying it to use as. But then a verbal is not worth the paper not written on. Exclusions. 36172_SKODA_Approved_Used_Warranty_Dec20_SINGLES.pdf
  17. There are fixed price Servicing and Maintenance prices at Participating Dealers. But this year there is on the website , Price on applications. ? What kind of warranty have you and how long is that for? At least the job done now at a Main Dealership should come with a 2 year part and labour guarantee on their work. A 1.0TSI Cambelt replacement is something that is not quite straight forward. Well it is to those with the gear and more than ideas. You are just going to have to ask the Service Desk staff to confirm their price for the job on your particular engine. Check they are not quoting including the water pump, but it will be with a new tensioner & idlers. http://skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price http://mechanexpert.com/timing-belt-replacement-on-mk7-golf-1-0-tsi
  18. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507303-skoda-octavia-2016-contaminated-coolant Welcome to the forum. It is a sad state of affairs. Main Dealerships are quoting and charging ridiculous prices to flush and resolve an issue that is basically a Manufacturers failure in design, manufacturing and materials.
  19. There is not a shortage or cars registered in the UK and sitting 'In trade' awaiting a buyer from the motor trade. Lots of money laying about and vehicles owned by financial institutions. There does seem to be a need for some investigation into manipulation of the market. A sort of collusion to inflate prices of goods. A cabal. Money is lent on a product not worth the value put on them. But then Current Market Value is the term used and anything is valued at what someone is willing to pay. Hence so many unsold as asking prices can be ridiculous. Some paid too much getting that car into their stock. They disagree. https://www.am-online.com/news/used-cars/2022/07/26/car-dealers-lose-11-000-a-month-using-opinions-to-price-used-vehicles
  20. Interesting to know if that included cars to the UK so not in the EU. These would need to meet type approval and be capable of being retested as in the WLTP if required. VW groups word can not just be trusted. Random testing is carried out.
  21. Maybe people will drive cars they can afford, maybe they want to show they can drive a prestige new vehicle and that fits into their life, work balance. Maybe for actual business use the appropriate cars will be bought or leased for the job and for the companies financial benefit.
  22. 10 out of 10 this morning for AC & a quick response to my phone call to the Service desk and to the person that dealt with me and who was very reassuring and actually quite knowledgeable. Very refreshing. So fingers crossed that all goes as it should 2, car dropped off, 2 different work shop actions done. 2nd service and Recall actions carried out and if any parts like brake pads or even discs are required Motability approve them. Why would they not !
  23. Skoda seem to not be prepared to even make an effort to get on building a Small or medium EV and have a product many of their traditional customers might want. A passenger EV that the Taxi / Private car drivers / customers could purchase instead of the Octavia used by many around the world should have been a priority. Skoda Enyaq's do not seem to be the vehicle getting bought for that purpose. Then small EV City car / delivery van was something that should have been another one they could have produced for hire companies, fleets etc.
  24. The Websites might be a mess and inaccurate but the statement at the bottom about left hand drive cars for images and that Specifications might change etc is always at the bottom of the page. It is there now on the Scala pages. Then there has been no secret about changes and stuff deleted during the Semi-conductor shortage. What is wrong is the supplying dealership employees not being up on all that. Just be sure you are not ordering and paying for spec which is standard or options and then not getting what you paid for.
