Skoda Electric Models
An All-electric Octavia. Later this decade. Like 'by 2026'. Start the media spin before '2023' then while ICE cars have waiting lists as much as a year long. Good to see they are in a hurry. http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/all-electric-skoda-octavia-works-join-new-ev-line

OEM Screenwash?
Their special only use our Tears of an angel windscreen wash because we have fantastic fan schoosers is nonsense. Watch what stuff you do use or mix because you can get a bacteria build up, and you get get stuff that jells up and is horrible. That can be the H20 you use and the wash fluid, or 2 different wash fluids. Loads of threads in various sections over the years. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/500965-screen-wash-tablets http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474976-screenwash

Thinking of buying a new Karoq 1.5 TSi DSG thoughts please
Some had to get rid of their cars after months of hassle. They even lost money to get out of them. They did come and ask the questions, raised the issues and luckily many then got their issues resolved. Those with no issues & that believe they are an internet myth are just like the Employees many had to deal with in Dealerships. 'Never heard of that'. 'Overblown on the internet' People only go to forums to moan'. 'They all do that, it is a characteristic'. VW will fix it, they are the biggest manufacturer in the world. They had the best engineers in the world. Then they left. @kodiaqsportline All that IT / Software stuff on the various models of Skoda & VW group cars is overblown, fiction, not happening any more than with other manufacturers. Well actually it is since VW took the IT in house and co-cked up. PS the post by @Sanqharwas the reason for replies, and the relevance. Internet myths from people that 'thought' something, yet were wrong. or those that post, ' I have never seen', or 'I have never heard of'.

Absolutely. All well now, all past issues resolved. Things as they should be to get through the WLTP / RDE2 and to actually drive well on the road. Any new issues that might occur after 3 years with 2022/23 cars will be known from 2025. So fingers crossed there are none, and if owners report snagging faults the Dealers will report them to HQ and the factory.

It was a DfT/ DVLA / DVSA Safety Critical Recall. It is a series of vehicles that had Software / Engine Management issues. It is not an Internet Myth or overblown on forums as VW Group would like people to believe. It was getting 1.5 TSI's Certificated for the WLTP & RDE. They messed up. They need to own it, make sales staff at Main Dealerships aware, do press releases & make an explanation to owners and potential owners. That is then 'Simply Clever'. But that is not how the VW Group operate. They deny deny deny and eventually do something, and it is then 'Only the few', and only a few complaints. The dropped Das Auto after the Defeat Device revelations and it was supposed to be 'Honest in the best policy'.

@OldKaroqThat is good because no way they all had the issue or they would all of required the recall action and software updates. If 100% had done it the poo would really of hit the fan. ? Was your first one part of the Recall Action one of the many that were not?

runs rough and struggles to accelerate
As these cars are getting older and maybe had quite a few spark plug changes, early cars engines maybe replaced or rebuilt with the first few hundred failures care needs taken when working on connections. There was over a 20 % failure rate with the 1,800 CAVE vRS in the UK.

Buying advice please 2011 Fabia- this one look any good?
If several keepers / drivers have not done that in 11 years / 80,000 miles then it is up to those driving now not to. Or maybe they have and then the engine was repaired. The thing about older cars is that we have years to learn about them. Newer cars need years on the roads before we know if there any good as older cars.

The cars left the factory with OEM plugs, these were changed for CAVE cars having spark plugs changed from 2010-2012 & CTHE in 2012. That was changed to NGK SIZFRB8FG / 03C905601B 0.7 mm gap (OEM had been NGK 03C9050601A 0.8 mm gap) There were still crap for a 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136kW http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/237997-bkr7eix-or-brk8eix-spark-plugs A member has done a most excellent guide. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462285-spark-plug-guide As well to have a Coil removal tool. and do not burst breather pipes or hoses as has been common. Even when a Dealership is changing your spark plugs. Make sure all are put back correctly. .

Dropping a gear or 2 and booting it is exactly when you are putting a load on the clutches. You are getting max torque at the right rpm. In a higher gear is not hard on a DSG.- "Reluctant" dashboard service reset procedure !
Unless someone did a sneaky & plugged in and put it on Variable then the OP's car is on fixed servicing and has been getting reset without.- "Reluctant" dashboard service reset procedure !
@nige8021 There is Fixed Service intervals which you can reset or Variable that needs the intervals reset with it plugged in. What is this 'Main Service' you speak of?- Rust around fuel filler door
@delicolorthey were maybe not looking or bothered if they spotted it but your good lady has been missing it being that way for along time.- "Reluctant" dashboard service reset procedure !
Strange. I do not know the procedure for your car if on fixed service regime and can be reset with the buttons on the dash or the stalk or using the hazard light way but i could watch the same as you have. .- Buying advice please 2011 Fabia- this one look any good?
- Winter tyres - front wheels only?
The ditches, fences and dykes will be full of those with Summer / Eco tyres on then, well if they got moving in the first place. All these rear wheel drive EV's will be sitting admiring the lovely views waiting for the recovery truck with their staggered tyres, like the rear wheel drive BMW etc with wide rears. Doh, actually, best not use unmatched pairs...- Remap thoughts please?
Just do it. There is no down side. Use a Reputable tuner to do the remap., job done and inform your insurance and away you go. Quicker up to 50 mph or to 60 mph towing the caravan or just the same acceleration as you do now actually.- Winter tyres - front wheels only?
@matchboxIf you have a pair of wheels then take them into a tyre and exhaust centre and get a pair of tyres fitted and the wheels balanced. They do that. Or get another pair, maybe in the Briskoda for sales. You will not find people usually that will say fit just a pair on the front. Or admit doing it. I do usually early on in winter if there is snow fall but not going to last long and the pair will come back off until 4 winters go on for the whole winter. But then there are not crap tyres on the rear, sometimes all seasons. If i am away and the weather might change i have a pair of winters as spares ready to put on. Something i have done many winters in Scotland for over 4 decades but then that is not to recommend that anyone else does the same. Currently my cars all have All Seasons on but if the weather requires it a Pair of Snow Tyres might go on the drive wheels.- "Reluctant" dashboard service reset procedure !
Hopefully someone can. ? So was your car on Variable / Flexible servicing counting down from the last reset, or was it on fixed so 372 days / 9,400 miles when lat set?- Mystery Broken Window

You put them in, did you not check the pre set gap of the plugs. They used to be at 0.8, they changed to 0.7 when the plugs were changed for different ones. I have never used them as i used DENSO first @ 0.8 but then when remapped at 0.6 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/371770-spark-plugs-for-mk2-fabia-vrs- runs rough and struggles to accelerate
Which is common, or can be if you have the O rings not sealed when putting the pipes back on. Usually the same day though. Or the EPC or Engine Light on or both and still no Misfires logged if not enough in a cycle. Take all 4 plugs out, inspect, check gap and oil / soot and be sure you never knocked one putting them in.- runs rough and struggles to accelerate
OK. So there were the first NGK that the cars came with, then that got updated / changed, but regardless their life can be short, or one plug can be with a CAVE. ? So how long have they been in? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461905-fabia-vrs-mk-ii-spark-plug-fail-new-engine-help-advice - Remap thoughts please?
