My motor is broken what should i do?
Because that ruined many cars / engines but then many more will have noticed no difference and had no problems. They gave a 24 month peace of mind guarantee but that never stopped owners having problems and costs incurred that VW Group never covered. Your issue might well be unrelated. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/471240-euro-5-12-tdi-emissions-fix-have-you-had-it-done

EV real world range and cost to charge
The BMW i3 was greatly underappreciated when in production. The small battery small cars should fill to 80% quick, but 80% of not much is still not much if you arrive with 10% and charge to 80% only that 70% is just giving a very small range. Using 70% only of battery capacity. 'City cars' that can leave the city but you need lots of charging time. Amazing efficiency from the MINI that has a battery of under 30 kWh (28.9) usable and is still a heavy car. Honda-e 28.5 kWh usable. Lots heavier than the Mini Electric. £6-7 for 111 round trip is good compared to petrol. If you go 111 miles with your home charge, and then need to public charge to get back and put in 25 kWh @ 55 pence a kWh than that is £13.75. So 222 miles costing maybe £20. 25x 28 pence at home is £7. Then if you charge at a PodPoint 50kW away from home it can be 28 pence a kWh so another £7. Nice. If you only get 3 miles a kWh in cold weather then your are at a different cost all together. 25 kWh taking you 75 miles and 150 miles for the £14 or the £20. If an ICE gets 55 mpg then 4 gallons @ £8 a gallon = £32. 44 mpg is 5 gallons. £40.

My motor is broken what should i do?
Welcome. The problem is that the best mechanic in your town is maybe not that good so what are the rest like that you would be using to find you an engine and fit it. Unlikely the engine has a broken crankshaft. Did your low mileage 1.2TDI have the VW Fix carried out at sometime as part of the Emissions scandal recall where new Engine Management was put on your car?

Maybe in the market for a 4x4 estate – but are there any pitfalls?
A Haldex Oil change done properly at a Garage is maybe around £90, but at a Skoda Main Dealership on the Fixed Servicing & Maintenance is might be only £85. The issue is that can cost your lots when that Haldex Service does not get done properly and they are just changing the oil. Skoda Workshops that will do a proper strip and clean and oil change sometimes charge over £100.

Electric Pickup trucks.
- Has anyone recently taken delivery of a factory order 1.5TSI DSG?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_PowerShift_transmission- At last, an Electric car I can be genuinely excited about!
@ColinD should maybe look more into EVing a Classic Skoda. Crowd funded maybe.- Has anyone recently taken delivery of a factory order 1.5TSI DSG?
Older threads on DQ200's were on 2009-2012 ones and the issues there, then 2013-2015, then 2015-2018. so ones built and over 4 years old so pre Karoq & pre 1.5 TSI's. Now with a 2019 on DQ200 DSG,s it will be great if all issues have been addressed and when the owners have a issue in warranty which will be to about now Skoda / VW deal with it. When they are 4 and 5 years older as a 2019 DQ200 is not yet, so out of manufacturers warranty then lets see how reliable they are and if the issues are only with 1% of the 2,500 DQ200's Skoda build each day. If so that is just a small number and you just hope you are not the unlucky one that has got one of those. Luckily any posts on DQ200 with issues with a Karoq are almost nil. Not Zero and not that old as Karoq's are not that old. *But then we know how people only come to forums when they have problems, or so the Dealership & Manufacturers might want you to believe as 'We have never seen that before', or 'They all do that'.* Post by @kodiaqsportlineis nail on the head. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501404-automatic-gearbox-issues http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486158-mechatronic-replacement The Engine Software update should have been done to the cars that required it and there is a DQ200 update for those that require it. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461809-15-tsi-with-7-speed-dsg @Georgina will probably feel good in that @kodiaqsportlineis having 100% reliability with their Kaqoq. Some worry about Historic Issues, but they need to wait and see how things turn out when the earliest models they have become older cars. Obviously VW are also making improvements in products and after sales services. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473267-dsg-box-reliability- DSG weird behavior
The selector might not have engaged Drive correctly and been in N. Watch for it again, they can have a brain fart. Maybe better that you Select N and put on the e-Brake if you do not want to just use auto hold with it in D or have Stop / Start enabled.- EV Service costs, there is stuff that needs doing as the years and miles go on, & more than just a look see.
I really wondered what i would get in a years time as you can only order a new car from Motability in the 3 months before the lease expires. I asked today knowing that things can change but asked anyway what the situation might be about the lease being extended until a new car becomes available. The reply was that since i have paid such a high advance payment i can very likely get up to 2 years of an extension on the lease which i could then end at any point. As long as the car is still behaving then that is what i would do unless something that really appealed was available with no advance payment. A Renault would be fine or the new MG but as it is no reason to give it too much thought. The Corsa will likely get new discs and pads as they are a mess of corrosion. It will be due a cabin filter and maybe them finding out why the coolant is dropping.- EV Service costs, there is stuff that needs doing as the years and miles go on, & more than just a look see.
@lol-lolWhat servicing was done, was the pollen filter changed or anything else or was it just a EVHC.- Specific fuel consumption read
That is how it is, ticking over, battery being charged and giving some sort of reading, it would be boring if it read the same figure like the Coolant Temperature gauge.- Stop/start system and battery issues
Not battery temp in OZ just now then, or the ambient temp and requested temp being more the 16 degrees difference.- Oil Change Message
Good to know, Those that post on here that the Low Oil warning light has come on and why because they had the car serviced and the next one is due shortly really did not need to wait for the Low Oil Light or Message as these 1.5 TSI EVO or what ever should have been reducing the time to the next service as they run about with maybe as much as a quarter low oil quantity and the oil temp likely higher than need have been.- Oil Change Message
@varooom What engine is this with and is this on variable servicing on the service indicator?- Oil Change Message
Someone will be along eventually with TSI or TDI that has been on Variable / Flexible servicing and had the miles until the Oil change is due reduced by a great amount of miles than the car has been driven. Someone that pays attention to their service indicator when hey get a car from a service and daily, weekly or anytime. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/441336-variable-service-query/page/3- Oil Change Message
We never have known because we have yet to see someone post that their car that was Set on 9,400 miles / 372 days or 24 months / 20,000 miles has started having the miles to an Oil Service reduce at a greater rate than the miles being driven. There are posts from people that say it happens, but not that it happened to them. Too often at the PDI the Variable Service interval is reset to Fixed and the 'Inspection Service' is left still at a different time.- Oil Change Message
What amazing tech these cars have or so VW spin the story. You would think they were Smart phones. You can take a 2.0 TDI / SCR Euro 6 and it comes with VW507 00 and shows the first Oil change service at 20,000 miles and thrash and abuse that car and the interval will still show as @ 20,000 miles. On a 2016 1.6 TDI VW had just had the crap days of being caught with Defeat Devices and Cheat Software and the car not with enough tech to actually meet the emissions they said when they were Euro 5 let alone into early Euro 6. They went on to introduce the 1.6 TDI's with SCR and that lasted no time as even then they struggled- Specific fuel consumption read
When a car sits idling the 'Average' fuel consumption will eventually get down to maybe 11 MPG. I have never seen one lower than that. (I have thrashing one while driving and seen 9MPG) That 11 mpg average is rubbish because if you leave it sitting idling long enough without moving to use 4.546 litres of fuel it will have gone ZERO Miles from a gallon.- EV Service costs, there is stuff that needs doing as the years and miles go on, & more than just a look see.
Good to see dealerships are being warned not to Milk it with EV's by hiking the labour rate to try and make up for the loss of income from marking up on engine oil or consumables. http://www.am-online.com/news/aftersales/2022/08/12/dealerships-warned-off-labour-rate-ramp-up-to-mitigate-ev-service-savings- Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
Finally after 18 months of trying i have my car booked in for Recall Actions to be carried out which were missed at what Arnold Clark / Vauxhall kept calling what the car first got as a Service, and yet they never completed that or reset the Service Indicator. (They still can not decide if it is supposed to be a EVHC @ 8,000 miles then next at 2 years, 16,000 miles later or at 16,000 miles. That should have been an EVHC (Electric Vehicle Health Check) but it was their booking centre that kept talking about 'Oil changes' and probable why no EV Trained or Qualified Tech was available. So eventually after Motability hassling me to get a Service as it is overdue i spent 2 hours on the phone with them, Arnold Clark, then the RAC who arranged an Automatic hire car from Europcar. 7 weeks yet before because it is a Recall Slot and not a Service even though it took Arnold Clark's Booking ages to understand a Corsa E is the old models and a Corsa Electric is a Corsa F. As in the Corsa's from 2019 on and this particular one has no engine as not a petrol. So first confirmation was wrong as booked as a 'Service' which would be the same crap happening as last time. Eventually they got it right, EVHC and Recall's, 2 of. What is the worst they can do. Hire car supposedly available at their gaff the night before and available for up to a week and can be extended if needed. The job start to finish should be half a day max, time will tell.- 1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
They did accept in other world regions that there were fundamental design, manufacturing or material faults did they not? Just not in Europe where they can deny anything and they go unchallenged.- iV will not shift to e-drive
Is it just an actual fault when the iV's have a flat 12v battery even when the car is charged? One that VW Group are on like a ferret up a drain pipe. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495746-octavia-iv-estateflat-12v-battery- iV will not shift to e-drive
Welcome. Makes total sense that the engine should fire up and charge the 12 volt system battery. It really is necessary to make sure you are running the ICE occasionally especially is extremes of weather, hot, cold or even inbetween. - Has anyone recently taken delivery of a factory order 1.5TSI DSG?
