  1. The oil matters then and if it was not Long Life oil and i do not think the Service Code for your car was Long Life Servicing then the Oil needs changing annually or at or before 15,000 km. Brakes still benefit from servicing even if not making noises. PS You get Winter Grade petrol some months of the year in Sweden. But that is not a bad thing. The Government adds nothing to fuel, but have they changed what you can buy, is it E10 95 ron or is it E5 you get. So more Bio if E10, but then some engines love ethanol. In the UK that changed last September, and 95 ron is now E10 and Super Unleaded 97 or 99 ron is E5. This is what is sold in the UK when people by Super Unleaded , so E5.
  2. The Toyota is not a PHEV it is a Self Charge Hybrid / Mild Hybrid. A PHEV is a different kettle of fish. Skoda also do them as well as Mild Hybrids.
  3. Skoda Main Dealer Servicing is not much done for too much money, but then no need to use a Main Dealers. Check the Servicing costs with Toyota Main Dealers and Service Plans on offer and see what the difference will be for annual Servicing & Maintenance. http://toyota.co.uk/hybrid/hybrid-ownership Also make sure that your local or chosen Toyota Dealership is not for the chop.
  4. Good. 205 tyres are fine as summer or winter tyres on 17" or just 16", and 215's are fine. 195 on 17,16 or 15 is just not necessary. This is a vRS / DSG i mean with 180 ps. Not generally Mk2 Fabias. Lots of days and miles driven in the UK October to April are lovely dry and warm days. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/294303-vcds-steering=assist-polo-gti-setting
  5. @Carlston Sometime go drive a Mk2 vRS on 195/55 R 15 tyres without changing the Steering Assist setting, (reducing it) then tell us about the sharper steering or actually the crap steering and the flashing TC light as well unless they are nice grippy tyres on a grippy road surface.
  6. Are Toyota not going to have the same battery shortage issues as all the other manufacturers, so issues with long delivery times if they can deliver?
  7. This will be US gallons! Not quick.
  8. ? Have you driven one yet? http://mag.toyota.co.uk/2023-toyota-corolla-revealed-with-latest-hybrid-electric-tech https://www.greencarcongress.com/2022/06/20220602-corolla.html There was a member that posted in the past week that they had got one. Not sure where that was. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504027-thinking-of-buying-octavia-mk4-engine-recommendations
  9. The smallest you might want to go on a Mk2 Fabia vRS will likely be 15" and that is the size the Skoda Spare wheel is. The standard 17" Gigaro alloys are fitted with 205/40 R 17 tyres. Lots of threads over the years in the Fabia Mk2 section over tyre / wheel sizes. Just 1 of them. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/454871-fabia-vrs-mk2-on-16-wheels More in this thread. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503390-anyone-fitted-r15-wheels-to-mk2-fabia-vrs
  10. @mczakk Does your car have a VAQ diff and if so is that overdue a service and did the dealership employees fail to mention that? @30,000 miles / 3 years or sooner. There are various threads on the VAQ, as there are on DQ381 & DQ380 DSG's. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/494489-front-differential-service-vrs-245/page/2 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/482132-vrs-245-diff-servicing Service Desk staff might not pass up the opportunity to upsell an AC Service, or a fuel additive treatment, they might well miss telling owners about the VAQ or Haldex or tell those with a DQ200 DSG it is due an oil change, they might miss stuff like recommendations or guidelines on brake fluid. But then that is just because they get on the job training by people with no technical knowledge of mechanical engineering.
  11. I have asked if a mod could maybe change the title as the OP can not. That will depend on if they are OK with that.
  12. If it is a DQ381 then 80,000 miles it will be if you want to leave it that long.
  13. People need help all over the forum. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/426096-error-service-leave-vehicle-only-selector-in-position-p Obviously Skoda / VW Group Customers services will tell you that forums / social media blows things out of proportion and faults are few. Lovely, but then when they exist VW should own their fundamental design, manufacturing, material failures and once a year or 3 passes these are not snagging faults. How anyone at a Main Dealership can say 'Never heard of that' is because they are deaf.
  14. ? What would you change it for? Better the devil you know or own already. Unless you are getting offered very good money for it and a real bargain on something else you really like and has a proven reliability record or even maybe a 7 year warranty.

^^^ This. How many miles covered over the 3 years ? The rear tyres are not having to deal with any drive to them like the fronts on a 1.2 TSI with a DQ200 DSG that can be prone to trying to spin the tyres. Changing tyres back to front periodically is a good idea but would have made no difference probably in the recent hot weather / roads and with All Season tyres what was on the front will possibly just suffer damage. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505352-deteriorating-front-tyres
  16. Hendrys tech needs to get a grip, they are the Authorised repairer, the car has a warranty, the tech gets their pay, and if their employer is losing money because they can not diagnose a fault then tough titty as they get plenty profit doing Servicing that is money for old rope. Hendrys are not doing Warranty Work for free as long as the work is Authorised by the Warranty Manager. ......... No idea why you want to do an Oil change every 7,000 miles (10 weeks or so) even with a Taxi with a 1.5 TSI. (It would be different if you have a Ring Taxi on the Nurburgring.) You did not have to use 0w 20 FS IV you could have used 0w 30 FS III or 5 w 30 III which are still Long Life oils and changed the oil at 14,000 miles. You could even have used VW502 00 so 5w 40 FS and changed it every 9,400 miles. PS You test Brake Fluid for H20 content because it is hygroscopic. So you are changing brake fluid to inhibit corrosion in the brake system and because water heats and turns to steam and the braking is affected.
  17. What is the point on a Sticker from another engine for a code if not sure what your engine / code was ? The Engine in the car has a stamped engine number. Maybe not clear for you to see but if a Police officer or Insurance Loss Adjuster wants to see it they will find it. The Engine number that was on the engine leaving the factory or if a change was notified is on the V5.
  18. You have 3 years warranty and easy enough to take out longer, you can extend the warranty 2 more years before the car is first registered. The failure rate with DQ200's is not high in the past few years.
  19. A Mk2 Fabia 1.9 TDI Sport then not a vRS.
  20. Welcome. Is it actually a Mk1 Fabia vRS? Someone will be along to help hopefully.
  21. @Conalk45Is the message not there for them to see without an error code being logged?
  22. @Joss1733Is your car not a vRS TDI 4x4 estate, so nothing to do with engine covers being removed?
  23. You can always ask. See @Chiselwizardpost. £37 for switch & £220 labour. 90 minutes plus VAT it looks like. Rip off IMO. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505730-weird-error-message/page/2
