EV real world range and cost to charge
It is supposed to be about Emission Reduction and hence the stopping the sale of new ICE vehicles in under a decade, no smoke zones for house fires etc. All a nonsense when England / Westminster requires electric to be generated from Coal, Gas & OIl electric & the Oil & Gas from British Waters used to refine road and heating fuels for the UK. But then the Oil & Gas coming from British Waters is also powering industry producing materials for EV's as well as electric for them to run on.

Slow Engagement of Drive - DSG DQ200
So. When has it been so, since new, since you got the car, more noticeable recently? ??? Are you using 1 foot, on brake then accelerator, not left foot on brake and right on accelerator? So do you have Hill Hold Assist, and do you have 'Auto Hold' and have it enabled? ? What engine, how many miles covered? DQ200's 2013-2015 might require the Service Campaign / Recall Action '34H5' which isw a software update and was started in 2017. PS. Plenty take their cars with a DQ200 7 Speed DSG to 1/4 Drags (RWYB) and sprint with them & they move off the line pretty quick, maybe just not with ones fitted to something the weight of a Superb.

Power Consumption is High
^^^ Quite possibly you have it 'nail on the head'. Battery on the way out.

Seat Swab
It is a Mk2 and the version is a Fabia 3. That was a spec / trim level.

Yellow warning symbol on dash
Welcome to the forum. Your 2016 Fabia will be a mk3. I wondered when I read the title as the issue was not one MK2 Fabia have had.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Ps,. I feel for the PodPoint maintenance guys in their range extender vans which are rear wheel drive on ECO tyres and require to charge 4 times getting up to and back from Wick. Winter time will be an adventure in their working day. Obviously they can charge at PodPoints but they were not given CPS cards. They never got vans with the 22kW charging option just 11kw. There are more with big battery cars that now go onto 22kW chargers to top up fuller rather than going on a 50 kWh charger putting out less charge. I see this more at Park and Rides like Stirling with enough 22kWh chargers. Also handy to be able to use whilst waiting on a DC charger becoming available.

The issue is old chargers like the one I am on now. CPS / SWARCO want condemned and then a nice e-volt charger installed with SWARCO having the maintenance contract. So when I got through after 4 failed status the guy says they can not REMOTE start. Odd they always have done. So I had to hit Emergency Stop. Then pull it out. Hold the stop button for 20 seconds and it reset. Then I got charging. The AC cable on the side which is broken is reported again. The 2 AC 7 kW not working are reported again. The app thinks 1 is occupied and the other available. Neither would start. Stirling park and ride has another maintenance provider and there are hubs with ABB chargers that are rather good and an Australian manufacturers chargers that are being installed. Sadly SWARCO, e-volt have to much on a monopoly charger wise and then running CPS is not helping. If only everything was reliable everyplace as sons areas that get special attention that would be great.

Free Charging where still available in Scotland is lovely, but it is unreliable and getting on a charger and then how that charger might then deliver a charge is hit or miss. Yesterday i arrived @ Stirling with 30% charge on the car @ the place was busy at all chargers & the 4 Rapids were occupied so i want on the AC 7 kw but almost as soon as i was charging someone moved and i got on the 50 kW Rapid. As you might see here i got a pretty poor charge in the 48 minutes. Then 95 miles later the single charger i was going to use was occupied so i went on the AC and had a chat with the Ionic Owner visiting Scotland that had no card and had not got the charger to start on the App so phoned CPS to start it. He could not not stop the charger and could not disconnect and could get no reply from CPS so i asked if i could hit the Emergency Stop button. That let him get away and the charger reset without issue and started fine on my card. You can see the difference with a 50 kWh charger working efficiently and charging up to 92% for me.

Engine Cover Octavia VRS
That is what is supposed to happen. It is a DVLA Safety Critical Recall. So you would have to tell the person at the Service Desk when signing in the car and handing over Keys that they should not Keep Your engine cover. You own it. Or you remove it before putting in the car. If they take Your Engine Cover they should give you a receipt and information on the replacement. You bought the car or leased it, and you bought an Engine Cover. You own it, or are the keeper of the car. If they are not providing an Engine cover with a New Car and never going to then that is an issue. That should clearly be explained to the new owner and them being contacted when the new revised covers / fitments are available,

New price cap Oct 2022
Electric @ 52 pence a kWh capped price 1st October. ? How much is the non off peak kWh with Octopus or will that just be the 52 pence a kWh until the next increase at the end of the year?
-
EV real world range and cost to charge
Home Tariff for electric with price cap from 1st October. Normal not off peal etc. 52 pence a kWh. That will be more expensive charging an EV at home than just buying petrol or diesel for an ICE. Just as Public Charging is now for many & that costs might well be up again soon. Nice that the Government have announced in the past days that many new Public Chargers being installed.

Is the Transport Secretary set to introduce a 20mph speed limit for cyclists?
There is a deterrent sold in the shops and on line. Those bright plastic things for throwing a ball for a dog. As you go to throw that ball you can hardly be expected to spot a cyclist coming up quick behind you. If you happen to have forgotten to take a dog with you that is just how things are.

Is the Transport Secretary set to introduce a 20mph speed limit for cyclists?
Possible without due care and attention if there was an accident proven to be because you were not giving due care and attention. People neither competent or careful are suggesting changes in law in the UK and newspapers give them spaces to air their stupidity.

Gear Selector Indicator Flashing...2010 Skoda Octavia
There was a recall world wide in 2012, but only a Service Campaign in Europe started 2014. This was '34F7' to change the synthetic oil to mineral oil in 2009-2012 DQ200's and do a software update. ? Was that ever done? (on DQ200's 2013-2015 was '34H5' a software update started in 2017) There is a Thread in the Fabia Mk2 section on 'Flashing Spanner', also the DQ200 DSG Thread pinned at the top of the section. There are cheaper fixes now available, but first you need the correct diagnosis of the issue.

Is the Transport Secretary set to introduce a 20mph speed limit for cyclists?
Hi time that the Tories were behind introducing an ID scheme in the UK where everyone British Citizens or not are required to carry id on them or implanted and have to show it or have it read when ever requested. This would include all Politicians entering No. 10, the Westminster Estate or anyplace else at any time but especially during lockdowns. This system will allow traffic police or police or law enforcers to have peoples identification if they request it. ....................... Recent cases have had Speeding and Dangerous Drivers that killed cyclists jailed for less time than Dangerous Cyclists have been sentenced for causing deaths to pedestrians on pavements or on roads. Cyclists found guilty of 'wanton or furious driving'. Cycling on paths and pavements are well covered by the law in England & Wales, and Scotland has laws. Cycling on the Public Highway and laws & offences are there now and sentencing guidelines are as well. The careless & dangerous cycling laws exist and I read them last week. Scotland has different from England & Wales & some that cover the 3 Counties of GB, and while reading there was the under 14 year olds can not legally use e-bikes on UK roads. Not something enforced. Bicycles do not have Speedos by law or use and construction legislastion, EU, UK or anyplace. They do not need bells, but new bikes must come with them. The NSL and restricted speed limits applies to cyclists. He will not be Secretary of state for transport in 2 weeks time. He has nothing to do with Courts or sentencing in Scotland. The countries that piloted registering bikes did not introduced that. What people need are hi-viz vests with their personal ID and have to wear them when walking, cycling, scootering e-scootering, motorcycling or anything else they do in public while not in a Motor Vehicle with a Registration. Micro chip everyone as well and all animals.

DSG Clutch pack failure symptoms? Dealer response?
They are making loads of money with what they call servicing and is just oil and filter services and inspect and report. What they are not interested much in is Servicing and maintenance like doing brakes. If you want new discs and pads they are happy, even if not needed they will tell you they are. They are fitters and will do parts and consumables at inflated prices. Repairs are not their thing.
-
DSG Clutch pack failure symptoms? Dealer response?
What else are they doing for £2,200 because replacing clutch packs costs nothing like that. Even a Main Dealer then having others do it because they will not do not charge that. Well some might try it on.

Superb 2020 minor corrosion from beach parking
The worst corroded under bonnet you ever see and worse alloy are those cars that have had 'kerb side' autos steam cleaning engine compartments. Valeting 'sales cars etc. Use an air line, use a vacuum, remove sand / salt and oily rag wipe, or waxoyl etc, and remember that will have more sand / salt sticking over time. but then oil rag / wipe and clean. Use rust inhibitor on exposed metal, paint exposed metal and generally keep clean and protected. ..................... This 12 year old Volvo was pretty bad when i got it and it got a bit of a non detergent wash and scrub up and the alloy was just given a wipe over occasionally. The engine was a used replacement and the alloy not nice but it got no worse. I use Tyre & Bumper restorer to clean plastics.

1.5 TSI EVO (130) Issues - Still Kangaroo...?
@MilgeSYou have driven the Dry & Wet Clutch DSG's with your Fabias and Polo's. If this car's box feels wrong then probably because it has something wrong with it..
-
error: Gearbox. You can drive on
You have a Wet Seven 7 Speed and i believe that to be a DQ381.

Don't overlook the usual stuff
2 years / 20,000 mil with Skoda UK, that used to be at a Major Service when it was Minor / Major Servicing Fixed or Major / Major Variable.

1.5 TSI EVO (130) Issues - Still Kangaroo...?
Sounds more just a DSG issue as a 2021 1.5 TSI engine should not have the issue that required the Software Updates. Links here in a post from me this morning. ad blue
There will be a warning when you need AdBlue and then is the time to add 10 litres maybe or just 5 litres. If you are going to head off on a 1,000 mile trip where there is no adblue for sale then that would be when you might want a container in the car. Otherwise you will likely never be more than 50 miles where you can buy some. Containers at Filling Stations or use the Adblue Pump and if the person in the shop says that is only for commercials tell them you are a commercial driver and you drive a diesel because you are, and can you get a VAT receipt please.
