  1. Normally 'we' as in people on the forum guess that the battery is the issue, so i will do the same. 6 year old battery on it's way out.
  2. OK. This was a Heater Matrix on a 2.0TDI http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/458300-low-coolant-level-warning/page/2
  3. A failed head gasket used to be the go to for causing a panic. Not the usual go to guess these days. So much more before that becomes the thing to consider. Just because the coolant leak is not obvious at first it can be a water pump, a Radiator leak / damage, pipe / hose, reservoir / bottle leak. These are why you are going to a Tech / Mechanic for them to diagnose.
  4. A Corsa Electric or a BMW 520, or what ever i am driving at the time. Lane Keep Assist can be very good, not all are the spawn of the devil. Very good at showing how you might wander about onto other lanes when you have a good system.
  5. Not just hot weather then and a bit of coolant out the overflow. Now you need to go see a mechanic. So is it a 1.5 TSI or a 2.0 TDI?
  6. @ShuttlebasherWhich engine, TSI or TDI? How much coolant? Was it at MAX at some point, or between MAX & MIN, and where is it now showing? Have you had a low coolant warning?
  7. It was an indicated 241 mpg. after you had done 30 miles you would be doing well if you were getting 50 mpg.
  8. Correct. Called in 2017 was Service Campaign '34H5' which was and is a software update because of the premature failures after the Synthetic Oil change in 2012 which was after a World Wide Recall that was just a Service Campaign in Europe. 34F7'. That was in 2014. Then we have the TPI's on DQ200's 2015-2018 and Clutch Updates. Now you have DQ200-e for the 1.0 TSI e-Techs. That is the latest changes before they finally drop DQ200.s. VW Group have not treated well the Snagging fault or owners with the issue that has existed for many years. Actually they have lied to many. Many have been ripped of greatly with what is a Fundamental design, manufacturing or material fault. DQ200 here. Not the DSG just the shifter. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505730-weird-error-message-only-leave-vehicle-in-position-p/page/2 Any DSG. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/426096-error-service-leave-vehicle-only-when-selector-in-position-p/page/20 As to MCU's. Maybe in the past couple of years VW Group / Skoda have taken the knowledge and experience of those that had to re-engineer the products and improve them over the factory components. Maybe they could now put a 7 year warranty on an DSG that has no servicing requirements. Or a 10 year one like they had to in some world regions in 2012.
  9. There is nothing up-to-date about them, they are just the same as they were but surely since the last issues Skoda are being more careful with Quality Control and components. They were building 2,500 a day for the VW Group and no recent TPI's or Recalls. Surely 'Vorsprung Durch Technik' by now. Best have a Warranty covering one as long as you are going to keep one.
  10. Petrol, diesel, LPG, Hydrogen is certainly cheaper now than running an EV if you need to charge at InstaVolt. For me that would be 45 kWh @ 66 pence so £29.70 to get 150 miles if lucky.
  11. @KenONeill Have you driven a car of any make with Lane Keep Assist yet? I have a Lane Assist system that works very well, gets left on even when there is snow on the roads and i drive across the Queensferry Crossing in the sun and other conditions weekly. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497418-the-queensferry-crossing-is-getting-cleaned-and-various-treatments-tried-to-a-stop-it-from-getting-iced-up-and-dropping-lumps-of-ice-on On a not so sunny day when just opened.
  12. @nta16 The difference is when someone tells you there engine has been producing oil you do clearly smell the petrol and when you take out the dipstick you do not need the match held that near to the oil. When you have just oil and maybe oil and some contamination the match needs to be nearer. The issue was VW Engineering. They just never admitted an issue, or issues. So much more reliable without Long Life oil, still with Super Unleaded but better spark plugs than were OEM. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/421365-links-to-lucifers-ultimate-guide-to-14-tsi-twincharger-engines
  13. http://thecarexpert.co.uk/skoda-rolls-out-minor-enyaq-update
  14. An old friend on the forum had his oil tested on his 1.4 TSI Twincharger. When i test ones that have borewash and the issue was not the Super Unleaded but super unleaded & Long Life crap oil and a fundamental design and manufacturing failures, i took out the dipstick and put a flame to the oil and watched how easy it ignited. That was the petrol in the oil. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/274913-oil-test-results
  15. When you see the crap engines on Scrapyard Dynasty going off abroad you might think WTF. See the Yard here, but no way do you want a 1.8 / 2.0 TSI Euro 5 engine from any of these. @ 8 minutes.
  16. Only if you are paying to wine and dine them and keep them on a gravy train.
  17. Disable / inhibit features / systems that do not work at various locations. That is why On / Off is available. Then, You report to Dealerships and be sure they are communicating to Skoda CZ & VW Germany. You communicate to Skoda Spain the Importer. You communicate with Skoda CZ yourself. You post online on Social Media. Long and short is VW Group could not give a monkeys, but the boss lost his job over taking IT in-house. Customers just get annoyed and while nobody dies the EU Commissioners will not care and introduce more compulsory safety devices and allow manufacturers to install crap systems not rested or executed properly or fit for purpose.
  18. @DanoidThey do not need changing, that is the guidance given for the UK now for certain engines. Anyone can ignore if they choose. That advice changes as years go on, sometimes longer between and sometimes shorter by time / miles Is it 8 years in the EU or Mainland Europe for Euro 6 2.0 TDI's or just something lie that?
  19. CrossClimate 2.s now and they come in 205/40R 17 84W XL.
  20. Things were different with a FWD Kodiaq 1.5 TSI, they got the DQ381 and not a DQ200.
  21. You should have handed the car back to the dealer if soon enough because they sold you a bad one and you have consumers rights. The Dealer needs to get to grips with the vehicles they sell. Sadly your engine needs a rebuild.
  22. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/400663-space-saving-wheel http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/382657-maxxis-ap2-all-season-tyres
  23. Winter is not slippery that much for long in much of the UK though. There are all the lovely days and nights. @Carlston where is it you live and drive and do you still have a Fabia Mk1 Estate? A Mk2 Fabia vRS comes with a 195/55 R 15 spare tyre in the UK. A 215/40 R 17 or a 205/45 R 17 fits in the spare tyre well just fine.
  24. Money wasted if you are doing 10,000 miles a year or more. Of just road driving. If you are using Long Life oil and changing it on Fixed Servicing that is good enough for a keeper. Or maybe do not use Long Life just VW502 00 so 5w 40 FS for your fixed service regime Oil & Filter changes.
  25. Welcome to the forum. You should read the pinned thread at the top of this section. This kind of motor trader is only too common.
