  1. @Derek Mc They look like April 2022 or later unless you are lucky. Was that someone @ Ingram Ayr that told you the truth?
  2. Re the Full Size Spare. Still a temporary tyre or one to reduce the speed with if a Different Wheel, Size, Offset with a different tyre / compound / tread / pressure from the one on the other side of the car. A green / new tyre with release compound still on. A Full Size matching the other wheels / tyres being a different matter.
  3. Get the rear axle & suspension then. Wiring loom, ECU's etc etc.
  4. @Dappernut What Tyre Company? Tyre and Exhaust Centre fitters might well not want to remove a tyre and clean it out and do a repair but that does not mean you can not clean it out.
  5. OK. But this seemed complicated, getting the car to run will be fun. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/489151-retrofitting-mib25-instead-of-mib1 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/468471-infotainment-retrofitting/page/4
  6. I am still trying to compute how you get parts from a car that is 50,000 euro more than the Octavia for only 3,500 euro.
  7. Great. Are you sure the parts are not from a stolen car? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/301003-skoda-felicia-4x4-280ps
  8. Good luck with that then. ? How much does it cost to buy these parts required to fit and have this working in your Octavia and how much will it cost to have someone do the conversion?
  9. So why are you not going to run the Superb and sell the Octavia? You are going to be running Haldex so AWD (4x4) with the Superb Engine and DSG are you not?
  10. That is quite a job. Looking forward to following the project when you post it in the project section. Have you found a good donor Superb for the parts, and is it so badly damaged that it is not repairable yet the Drivetrain and suspension is usable? ? I take it they are not parts that have come from a stolen vehicles?

The UK Chancellor will speak tomorrow, then do a budget in 2022. With EV's or Hybrids or even ICE vehicles there can be a change that takes affect when ever or maybe in April and even an announcement that changes stuff overnight for buyers & business users as happened last time. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478982-grant-for-evs-cut-in-2020-budget-then-without-notice-changes-introduced-on-the-18th-march-2021 The UK Government will do whatever for the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland. Then there might well be Grants or Loans in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland as there is currently in Scotland for Interest Free loans and Grants for Business's.
  12. You pays your money and make your choice.
  13. Not if manufacturer face millions of euros in penalties in 2022 like VW Group for 2020 because the emission of cars First Registered was too high. https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/vw-faces-eu-fine-missing-2020-emissions-targets https://autovista24.autovistagroup.com/news/vw-group-and-jlr-face-fines-exceeding-2020-eu-emissions-targets MG punting out lots of EV's helps VW Group get away with still producing higher polluting cars. So much Kidology.
  14. Maybe best moved to the General Automotive Chat if it is not for fitting to a Fabia, or even the Performance Section.
  15. Or so I was just reading on Car Scoops. Sorry can not link but maybe someone can Google / search and see if confirmed or not for production sometime maybe.
  16. Edinburgh City Centre Low Emission Zone a while off as they can not decide. Plenty Park & Rides, Hermiston is up near the Village of Hermiston, so near the Herriot-Watt University Edinburgh Campus. Straiton Park & Ride near IKEA. I charge my car at either of these. In Edinburgh Parking can be max 2 hours & £3.90 an hour, or £24 pre booked for some parts, even £40 to park in some places / streets for day time. Getting a Parking ticket and paying in 28 days can be cheaper @ £30. The choice of Parking near the Gyle or across the rails & @ the Hermiston Shopping area is pretty handy and then Tram in and out of Edinburgh.
  17. Welcome. Check the tightness of the battery terminals but it looks like soon you need to replace the getting on for 7 year old battery if it has the original one. Best have the battery tested.
  18. The extension of London's pollution charge zone has come into force. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-59015375
  19. It is worth buying a Brake Fluid tester & using it IMO if you are not going to just be changing the Brake fluid first at 3 years then each 2 years.
  20. Good that there are Vloggers showing real world, well real world with only one in a car and with all the time in the world.
  21. Those in Scotland who can afford an EV should be able to hire at affordable cost an ICE, actually they can in much of Scotland, or in populated areas, or if they can not afford an EV they should easily be able to leave their ICE and collect an EV to use maybe locally or in built up areas in Scotland from the thousands paid for by Tax Payers that are sitting unused by Local Authorities. Covid has caused a problem obviously for where there are car clubs and cars to hire available. There is another charger on CPS another mile on the A77 at Turnberry, it still does not show on ZapMap or Plugshare. It was switched on and powered up for weeks yet never activated, This Dowhill Farm Charger is 25 pence a kWh. Hicups months later still with SWARCO, the Vid showing the App is what you can get even with good reception on your phone.
  22. 4,000 public chargers in Scotland. SWARCO who now are running the Charge Place Scotland set up on behalf of the Scottish Government have done an Audit of all of them. Funny then that they can not correctly give the locations on the Map. Funnily their Operatives or Contractors can not send a signal with the location using GPS so that they are where they should be on the map. Funnily the Chargers have SIM Cards that send the signals. Strange that were the Mobile and Wi-fi reception can be poor or intermittent that this is not dealt with using boosters or what ever is required to ensure reliability of service at chargers. I went back to a petrol car for 4 days last week as i had to carry another adult and 2 children and do 300 plus miles each day. 135 mile range in my e-Corsa would have been too much of a PITA. It was worth the extra cost of just getting in and going. Then yesterday a usual 2 hour drive to drop off my Grandchildren then a 90 minute drive home took nearly 6 hours. That was Road works that added 40 minutes so actually the EV was fine there, then a diversion that needed extra miles done, that was OK as the route used less electric. Once they were home i had to charge. First charger place was Out of Order, next one had a Hybrid Taxi charging on the CCS and it was at 98% and the driver was staying until it was at 100%. The car on the AC was waiting for the CCS so after 20 mins it started charging for 30 minutes, i went on the AC, then i got on the CCS for 30 minutes and i had enough charge to get home and spare incase of diversions. This was all in wind, rain or drizzle but quite warm. If the temp had been 10 degrees lower then the charging would have needed to be longer. There were chargers that i could have paid to use and if working these would have been as expensive to use as buying and using the Petrol Car. If the Charge Place Scotland infrastructure does not improve over this winter then i will be using a petrol or diesel on trips that i have passengers with me or that do not allow the lottery of charging and time needed to get charged or to search out chargers no matter how well planned in advance you are. The Charge Place Scotland Map does not even show all the chargers correct location which is a total PITA if you are in an area you do not know. Then the Call Centre is often not answering, the APP is not working often and you can not start a charge, it will show chargers available that are out of order or occupied. http://chargeplacescotland.org Millions of public money is going to SWARCO / eVolt who are incompetent. It is a Love in Between them and Transport Scotland, another incompetent tax payer funded organisation. http://www.transport.gov.scot The Scottish Government should be ashamed. This Video was before the change over with SWARCO but SWARCO was already doing the job for BP / CPS. Things are worse not better. Using your Debit / Credit card can work now. 100 yards from McDonalds actually. There is another CPS charge near, and another in Forfar other than the InstaVolt one. This is from 2020. It is the same now. There are New Chargers installed and even operating and not on ZapMap or Plugshare or showing in the right place on the CPS Map / App and yet can be used. SWARCO /eVolt Employees will sit charging cars while there are faults at chargers next to them and do nothing. These are Maintenance staff not just office staff.
  23. This will help explain. A VG Guide. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483229-how-to-change-the-oil-on-a-haldex-5th-gen
  24. I think being a Skoda iV Octavia, Superb or Citigo is enough of a deterrent to car thieves. There is a simpler way to make money then get involved in the issues they can have.
  25. Most Important. Has the car had the Service Campaign / Skoda Secret Service Service Campaign & in some cases the Safety Critical RECALL action for a software update? That is if applicable as i can not see one for a 2019 1.5 TSI Octavia. https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
