  1. Technicians and mechanics that were filling CAVE / CTHE engines to the correct level on the dipstick when the engines are at Normal Operating Temperature filled and do fill with 3.9 or 4 litres of oil. That gives the correct reading. Area A of the cross hatch which includes the flat bit above. & that is on the flat above the cross hatch and below the orange blob when checked cold. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/457104-oil-level-way-over-max-after-service/page/2
  2. @Lakisof Welcome to the forum. Best read the Manufacturers warranty, T&C's and exclusions. The ones on Non Factory approved hardware or software / engine management. You are not doing that, just changing settings / codes. I can not see anything about activating or making changes to features you have provided on a vehicle you bought and paid for by enabling them. If the features are detrimental to the efficient running of the vehicle and might cause failures of parts that are being claimed for under warranty that might be an issue. Changing the function of the dash, lights, wipers, door / hatch openings etc and maybe even accelerator / brakes / steering for choices available already built into the car will be something that would have to be shown to have caused the failures i would hope.
  3. I think there are too many that try to get on the gravy train while there are actually people that bought vehicles and have lost financially because of VW, that was with faults that were because of the components and before the scandal broke, and then that had cars that had the fix and failed but were not covered by the VW Peace of mind 24 month guarantee.
  4. @newskodadriver So no losses financially to you and the car runs well and economically. Sounds all good.
  5. @Scuba Steve 827 It would be dead useful if you said when this was that you got your car, and when your car was built?
  6. Calling on the phone and asking to talk to the dealer principal usually gets you someplace if you tell the receptionist that the sales executives are ignoring you.
  7. @Richmix ? What is the MPG or miles per litre you get now on longer journeys? Is it not as simple as brimming the fuel tank before journeys are seeing what is the most economic for petrol use as you use it. Do the same trips but using the modes differently and eventually you must reach some conclusion.
  8. @newskodadriver Did you put the car in and get 'The fix' carried out then, and did it perform worse after being done?
  9. My guess is a change of tyres. Best look at the 10 month old air filter as sometimes the first indication of needing changed is the fuel economy dropping.
  10. @silver1011 Can maybe show the rack he uses on the Kodiaq. A bargain compared to the Thule rack i use. EDIT, Taken from another thread. Just until he maybe see this.
  11. @briscaF1 So it has new tyres. Are they like for like with what you used to drive it with on? What the dash tells you is not really important compared to what you remember getting, it would need a brim to brim check to compare if you actually used to check that. Your car is supposedly lighter than a Euro 5 one, and a Euro 6 Emission car with supposed lower C02 g/km. This should mean lower fuel consumption. ? What ps is your wifes 1.2 TSI? It is not 90ps is it?

VW just have to sort the Software / IT issues with the EV's and Skoda has not to launch or deliver the cars until the VW Group have. Then do bundles where the cars are bought or leased with a charger installation arranged and completed if the customer wants it and a good energy provider / partner with VW Group offers great value electricity. They are partnering on public chargers, sadly they are not Rapid chargers. So some way to go before that happens. First the Software / IT / Communications needs fixed by VW. Then lots of training of technicians, dealership service desk staff etc etc.
  13. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/379540-vw-emissions-scandal-thread-v2 September 2015. Updated October 2015. If anyone buying a VW Group TDI in 2016 did not know about the Emissions Scandal they maybe do not read newspapers, listen to the TV or Radio or read forum posts. If they bought a diesel used car after September 2015 especially to use as a taxi it really seems odd that they were unaware of the scandal that was such big news. The Youtube vid is from September 2015.
  14. Not part of the fix, but. While there is someone working on the car the brake fluid is recommended a change at 3 years old. If not done you maybe at least want the fluid checked for H2o content.
  15. @GladysFriday Is this a Skoda Approved Used car that came with the service plan as part of the deal with the car? Currently 2 years on offer i believe. Or is this a Service Plan that the previous keeper had bought? ? Why not get the Dealership that supplied the car to sort this out, or at least provide you with 'Current Contact details' to have the Plan in your name and on the cars reg number.

After years of discussion and consultations it will become mandatory. That gives the car manufacturers over a year from now to make their systems fit for purpose if it is to be a life saver.
  17. Welcome to the forum. Spark Plug change guidelines or if you want to call it a schedule is usually 4 years / 40,000 miles. Pollen / Cabin filters are @ 2 years or sooner, but you can look see, vacuum it maybe and keep using or change it. You can look at your air filter any time, or annually. The Guidelines used to be at 4 years / 40,000 miles for replacing. The cambelt discussion is on here in many threads, just look down this page or the last one.
  18. Have you checked with BNC Autoparts, Lothian Liners, Eskside Motor Factors or Dingbro, or ATS Euromaster, McConechys for their cost to fit one?
  19. Southern Cairngorms / Angus Glens today.
  20. More if trying to find a good DQ200 DSG with some sort of warranty and paying a garage / mechanic to do the conversion.
  21. Just as I thought from your posts. So you knew before buying the car about the Defeat device scandal. Maybe you even got a bargain buying the car if really the value of cars traded in or sold had dropped in the months since September 2015.
  22. You have that as well. Chemicals released from the plastics. But then cars without AC also have plastic dashes and might not get the oily haze on the windscreen. There were cars not that many years back without AC.
  23. I really think you would need to buy a donor car that is running well that you can get the parts from, DSG or Engine and DSG, wiring loom, shifter, dash etc. IMO it is best to just sell or trade in your car and buy a car with DSG if your car is OK, or has your manual box got a fault?
  24. It looks like she can not actually reach the screen from her driving position as in when moving and where her seat and steering wheel are so needs the voice control to change the heating.
