  1. Was that long ago or last year? If you do not count Motor Homers as tourists is suppose some might see it as quieter.
  2. Fair enough if you have been there. The A93, Glenshee Ski Centre, Braemar, Lecht Ski Centre & Tomintoul are in the Grampian Mountains. The Scottish Highlands. NC 500 Bealach Na Ba Pass 2054 ft. NE 250 Lecht 2090 ft. Glenshee road elevation 2132 ft. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/435353-north-east-250-scotland
  3. This might interest you if a TSI, 1.5, http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/529390-wet-timing-belt
  4. Avoid the craziness and look at the North East 250 (Scottish one.) http://northeast250.com Deeside. A93 & A939, Grampians, Aberdeenshire, Mountains to the Coast even. Still very busy Braemar, Ballater, Aboyne, Tominintoul, Grantown on Spey etc. Along the Moray Firth & down the Aberdeenshire coast and Angus Coast. Worth going Braemar to Ballater then Ballater and to Lecht & Tomintoul. Grantown-on-Spey across Ferness to Nairn then east.
  5. Top speed 136 mph so near double the UK Motorway speed limit. Just push down the accelerator it going to have enough speed / acceleration to get on it,s way.
  6. If it is holding oil now then take the car to someone that will do the helicoil or change the sump at less than £100 odd an hour plus VAT.
  7. Friarton Bridge across the Tay on the Edinburgh - Dundee M90 was closed from just after 3 am because of yet another fire underneath or nearly underneath. Recycling Centre fire. There will be media coverage later, hopefully nobody killed or injured this time.
  8. Seems like in Fog or Snow he is not one from putting on his lights to have rear lights on. Maybe he can just not find them. I would have probably put on Dipped Headlights and they would have been on the whole journey.
  9. It looks very practical, and an easy in easy out car.
  10. 300 miles and 545 pence is not 1 pence a mile now us it? To be getting 1 pence a mile with 1 kWh @ 6.7 pence you would need to get 6.1 miles a kWh. *** 300 miles from a 81.4 kW/h battery means getting 3.7 miles a kWh. ................... Channel 5 @ 9 pm. Petrol vs Electric . Which is better? No idea if a repeat.
  11. There are different prices 1.4 TSI or 1.4 TSI ACT, 1.5 TSI or 1.5 TSI ACT. There are places that price by the different kits used, pattern or OEM.
  12. This section has gone a long time. Not unheard of, but that is with any car, being a Yeti has nothing to do with it. The 1.2 TSI being common across so many VW Group vehicles.
  13. Todays one i posted. Charelston Dundee as well. I can not read the DC Thomson articles Courier or Evening Telegraph, i just get the odd one that i can, but they come up on facebook etc.
  14. Thanks. I thought that was the one that came up on my phone today. This one. So many set up in and around Dundee.
  15. Independents £750 -£900. Dealers, £850-£1,200 and charging for 6.5 hours. Some want the car for 2 days. Get it done if you so wish.
  16. The Car Fire in Broughty ferry, then another (2 cars) in Menzieshill Dundee look fierce, in comments people always ask if EV,s.
  17. SPOILER ALERT> . Has not happened, nobody banned him from a ferry, but if he phones up his insurance maybe they will. Not safe to be out in the community on his own. 60,000 miles and a 100 kWh charge taking 2 hours max (if he stayed off 50 kW chargers and getting 200 miles per charge would or could be 300 hours of charging. (The car should be getting 250 miles from a Full Charge.) That could be a lot less if the Ultra Rapid chargers he could use were used. But he is working at lots of these charges as a Youtuber. Semi retired, might as well catch up on his Social Media commitments.
  18. Always possible to Plug it permanently and just suck out oil from now on at oil changes. (Kerbside Auto Solutions.)
  19. Assuming that you bought and paid for the car with your money or borrowed money and it is not leased / rented on the never never.
  20. vw 502 00 so 5w 40 FS is perfectly correct for a TSI is getting Fixed Oil and filter changes. But they are the ones doing a Oil Consumption test so if they use Long Life oil that is fine, but not Long Life is not wrong. (it is with a TDI.) These Pillocks accused the cars owner of spoiling test by topping up oil. That was quite a common thing with Main Dealers and Twincharger Oil Consumption tests. 0.3 litres used in 1,000 km was not within tolerances.
  21. What was the 600 miles about, that was a test of use of oil in 1,000 km. This idiot did 1 litre = 1,000 grams,
  22. @s88urd What are the tolerances they are going by, 0.5 litres in 1,000 km / 621 miles? As per VW Group Owner manuals for every engine for decades, 3,4,5,6,8.12 cylinder petrol or diesel from 44 kW up. That is not a tolerable amount for a UK vehicle on normal UK toads at NSL,s in UK weather, that is a May use under conditions very different from a solo drive to work. Did they drive 600 miles or did you? 12 hours or so of driving. Do you have the Sheet with the weights of oil 856 grams a litre not 1,000 grams like some muppets do.
  23. Sorry to hear this. In 13 years on here i think i have read of 4 cars that went up and they were Octavias.
