Dreaded hybrid A/C and battery coolant issue, meh.
My experience with Superb’s and problems that appear and won’t go away when in for a first time repair is to exercise your consumer rights within the 30 day period. Maintain all communication with regards this in writing and following the advice on the Which Magazine website about template rejection letters and how to reject. If you let it go on too long you’ll have a car which is never right and your rights have been dramatically reduced!! I’ve had to reject two cars from Skoda main dealers for issues that they had to know were present - I know one of the dealers absolutely knew about one issue and all they wanted to do was fob me off. Skoda Brockenhurst! I got my money back but boy were they evasive!!!!

Sound from the ceiling. Please help
I had a similar issue. Same year of car and was told that there is an inherent fault with the design of the panoramic sunroof which causes this issue - Skoda have now changed this with the new FL Superb’s so they don’t suffer the same way. If you google Audi forums, basically the same design pano sunroof, you’ll see lots of horror stories of the pano surround cracking. My old Superb headlining creaked like an old wooden ship from the moment I got it and it went into the dealer several times under warranty. In between the various visits the pano surround cracked - initially there was push back from Skoda but when I presented them with the evidence they relented and replaced the surround under warranty. Other worker completed included new sunroof and sunblind but it never resolved the creaking to the point where I was happy. I got rid of the car when the mechatronic unit failed about 1,000 miles later - an awful car which I traded in and let the trade pick up the issue with the box. Sorry to say this but you will be very lucky if you get rid of that sound.

2024 Mk3.5 2.0TSi L&K or 2024 Mk4 1.5eTSi SEL ?
It might just be me but most people I know who have lane assist don’t rate it. I turned mine off after a few days. Unless you’re a driver that struggles to stay on your side of the carriageway or lane then this is truly just a gimmick. I’ve never missed it since turning it off and it won’t get turned back on again.

All-In package…..
Regards the used 'All-in from Skoda' they do have sales a couple of times a year, one of which is usually around November but sadly I don't recall the other time, where they reduce the overall plan price by £200 so if you are in a hurry then it might be worth waiting and purchasing when the price drops. My understanding is that if there is an issue with the vehicle and you are unable to get an appointment prior to the plan expiring then Skoda will still honour the plan as wait times can sometimes be weeks. Do be mindful that I believe the T&C's for the warranty cover are more restrictive than a warranty provided by Skoda if you purchase a used vehicle through them. When it comes to MOT's it might be that some dealers could be creative with failing a vehicle to gain work - not my personal experience but a friends. On a positive note, dealers are generally very positive when it comes to the dreaded metatronic failure and should this happen to your vehicle then the repair alone will cover the cost of the plan.

Shock absorber help please
I bet the dealer does want you to change them. On the forums lots of people report ‘misting’ as being commonplace. I wouldn’t rush to change them simply because the dealer has encouraged you to do so, lots of the DCC shocks go through MOT’s with ‘misting’ and I would only change once you actually notice a difference. However, you might not have a problem burning through £1k plus and in which case just make the change. Good luck with replacing them cheaply if you do decide to do that.

Horn Not Working With The Engine Running
On my last Superb, which was a pain in the behind, I found that when my ACC was not working that impacted on the horn also not working, when the ACC was shown to be working the horn sounded. I put it down to some electrical/Skoda quirk as I saw others in the forum also suffered similar issues.

DSG box
You can get your build sheet from this seller who normally responds within 24 hours. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224631127243?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=nGO17j9xSwi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=usbV9ksUQWy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Is your car already under warranty from the Škoda dealer? If so I would say don’t bother with the warranty you are looking at. The warranty’s normally go on ‘sale’ a couple of times a year. I don’t think there is any extra cost to pay for it monthly so if you want to spread the cost that might be worth considering. The gearboxes can either be super reliable or built like cheese. I wouldn’t take a chance.

SOS module faulty for five months. Garage blames Ukraine.
How long have you had the car because you do have consumer rights but they are dependant on timeframes. I bought a MkIII Superb from Meaden's last year which was faulty from the get go. I allowed them one opportunity to repair it, that failed. Meaden's tried to fob me off that it would be okay to simply drive the car with the EML on even though there was no timeframe for the fault to be resolved. Meaden's persistently refused to collect the car until I advised I would be taking legal action and then they collected it within days. I doubt I would ever buy a car from them again following my experience.

Stage 1 remap
One point to consider is that once you map you will undoubtedly invalidate any dealer warranty you will have been provided with. Hope your experience goes well, I thoroughly enjoyed the Stage 1 and DSG tune in my MkII Superb.

Intermittent horn/ACC failure
Oddly enough I found the same issue with the horn the other day when the temperature was below freezing. Shortly afterwards it was all working again. I know the ACC can be fickle with cold weather, it’s often mentioned on the forums but the horn was a new one to me. Be interested to see if others find they have this ‘quirk’.

Locked out !
I did this to my MkII and had to call a locksmith. The locksmith picked the lock and commended the security of the Superb. I now have 3 keys to my MkIII

Skoda superb mk3 coolant silica bag split
Is the dealer doing this work the dealer you purchased the vehicle from? If so I would ask to speak to the Dealer Principal. The silica bag issue is well known, and well documented. The risk of a considerable financial bill due to the bag splitting is practically a given. To the best of my knowledge Skoda now no longer fit this bag in new vehicles because of the damage being caused. If the dealer has sold you the car with the bag still in situ I would suggest they need to acknowledge some degree of responsibility. If you get push back from the dealer I would take the matter up with Skoda U.K. Customer Services. If there is still no joy I would consider seeking legal advice via any legal helpline you have with your car or home insurance. The dealer should deal with this as a warranty issue and should they state they won't I would ask for those reasons to be given in writing. At the very least they should make a gesture of goodwill by accepting a significant part of the costs. Good luck!!

Waze driving instructions
As others have said you will not get any other third party application displaying there, this is for Skoda navigation only, the third party applications display on the main infotainment screen.

Alloy wheels deterioration
Refurbish them and then get them powder coated to whatever colour you wish, far more resilient than diamond cut wheels. I know, I refurbished my diamond cut and they never lasted and wish that I just went to the powder coat which was cheaper.

My new to me, MK3 has a few groans and squeaks
I have a 2020 MkIII hatchback with panoramic sunroof. On driving it back from the dealers it was the normal limo like drive on the motorway but as soon as I got it on A, B or unclassified roads there were so many creaks it was like I was sailing in a wooden sail ship. I isolated them to the headlining but in the meantime the sun blind failed. The dealer packed it with foam saying they had had another Superb with a similar problem. Shortly afterwards I had panoramic sunroof surround crack, what appears to be a common fault. The long and short of this is that Skoda have accepted responsibility to replace the panoramic sunroof surround, sun roof and the blind. Currently only the sunroof surround and blind changed as glass sunroof is on back order. The good news is that the creaks have pretty much all been eliminated. I had a MkII Superb estate and it was bliss to drive - solid and noise free. Cannot fault the build quality of mine bar the bumper clip on the R/O/S. Hope you get all your noises sorted as I feel your pain but once done you’ll no doubt be driving around with a massive smile again.

EML problem Skoda Superb 2018 2.0 diesel
The thing that would provide the clarity of this issue would be what is the fault code that has been stored which causes your EML to illuminate. Ring Meadens or your local independent and ask them and then post it here, without it then it’s pure guesswork. I am pretty confident that one of the fault codes will be Engine - SCR NOX Catalyst Efficiency below Threshold P20EE00. Want to manage your expectations and say if it’s the above fault then the only sure fire way of removing the light is doing a DPR delete.

Thanks for the suggestion but they won't do KESSY but will supply older keys.

cost of replacing lost key/fob
I am collecting a new to me MkIII Superb next week from a Skoda dealer and was told that it comes with 2 keys as the third key is an option when ordering the car at the build stage - at that point it is 35 quid. I asked how much to get a third key made and....wait for it.....sit down....450 quid. If I hadn't been sitting down I would have fallen over. I know people will say two keys are enough but for practicality I would prefer a third and has anyone one had a key made and coded for less than that? I know I could trawl Google but I am hoping some kind and knowledgable person might have prior knowledge. TIA.

2018 Engine Emission Light
I didn’t have any intention of selling the vehicle. However, I was concerned that the dealerships initial response was basically just drive it with the EML on and don’t worry which is all well and good but if another fault happens you won’t know as the EML is already on. Furthermore when it comes to the MOT it won’t pass. Thankfully I was within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle and so could reject it but Skoda only did this because I had the law on my side otherwise it would have been tough luck.

2018 Engine Emission Light
My vehicle was a MY19 Superb L&K 190BHP diesel hatchback - Index MD19WUY incase any members see it and are tempted to buy it - personally I wouldn't. I was told that my vehicle required a software update that hadn't been released as yet to prevent the EML from illuminating with the fault code. Below is a cut and paste from the Sales Manager at the Skoda dealership I purchased the vehicle from. I was also told that my vehicle needed the software update from Skoda Customer Service when I contacted them. I asked which vehicles were impacted by this fault as I didn't know if it was the model, engine or MY that was where the fault lay as I hoped to avoid buying another one with it. Skoda wouldn't divulge that information. I felt that given there was a software update being written there had to be a considerable number with a similar issue but on other forums and here there wasn't much feedback. I managed to return the vehicle and get my full purchase price back but it was a difficult and inconvenient process. Skoda sales manager email to me 'He (the service manager) has also given the part of the report which states SKODA are aware of the software issue causing the EML light to appear and have released the following comments – The entry in the event memory (P20EE) does not lead to any limitations of the vehicle functions. Safe vehicle operation is guaranteed. No damage to parts (Explain this situation to the customer). These are the official instructions we have been given from the factory. I understand it must be frustrating buying a new vehicle and having a warning light appearing on the dashboard, but please rest assured that as soon as the software update becomes available, we will contact you straight away so this can be booked in. I also thought it might be reassuring to know that with the statement above being from the factory, they have guaranteed that you will not suffer any mechanical issues with the vehicle due to the light being illuminated. I do apologies for the inconvenience this has caused but with any luck the fix will be out soon and you can start to enjoy your new car!

2018 Engine Emission Light
Thanks for this. Skoda state it is a software issue and they have no release date for the update. I have returned the car under The Consumer Regulations Act 2015 and the dealer refunded me the purchase price. Mind you they did initially try to charge me a quid for each mile I had driven until I quoted the Act.
