  1. Deleted as way OT - lost sight of what thread it's in. G
  2. Possibly the thread you're remembering: G
  3. My 2018 Golf had a bag in it (as did my 2015 vRS), which I removed. It was easy to find by putting my finger in the hole at the filler cap and fishing around. If you can't find it, I'd think it's probably not worth worrying about. No point in replacing a tank that doesn't have a bag in it. Gaz
  4. My 2018 GTI 230 needed new tyres at 16,500 miles, having been recommended to change them at 13,000 miles. These were Bridgestones (S001a's I think). I wouldn't have them again. I changed to Crossclimate 2's, which are today at 6mm, having covered 11,000 miles. 7,000 miles seems poor (unless you're a tarmac terrorist!) - did the garage suggest having your alignment checked, in case the 'poor roads' have knocked your tracking out, causing the wear? Gaz
  5. I'm on the fence, when some V8's are up in the rev range like that, I get that any-second-now-I'm-gonna-throw-a-rod feeling of angst 😧 Maybe it's me age - V12 for me G
  6. 'A teeny bit excited....': Definitely a Harry's car 😎 Gaz
  7. Spotted this little beauty this morning 😎: Brought a smile to my face as it was a lovely example. Gaz
  8. On our bedroom window when I opened the blinds the morning. I'd tell him/her they've got three weeks to go, but I guess the early bug gets the aphid, so as to speak 😇: Gaz
  9. Don't 'ya just hate it when something you want to be sceptical about works 🙄 Many years ago I had a particularly nasty ingrown toenail. My osteopath at the time wanted to treat it with acupuncture. My response was nope, as there was no way on god's green earth acupuncture made any sense in treating something as physical an injury. A couple of weeks later, with it getting worse, I yielded. Six treatments and just over a fortnight later it had completely recovered. Still doesn't compute to me. He said I could've expedited the recovery if I'd soaked it in urine, as he recommended, but I declined to do, even though I could understand the science behind that bit. Gaz
  10. My previous vRS Estate (2015) would take my XL e-bike (29" wheels) complete, albeit with the back seats down and a little bit of settling to stop anything rubbing. Laying down (of course) and diagonal, with the rear wheel by the back of the passenger seat, and the front wheel/handlebars over by the offside rear, tailgate closed. I never did it, because I'm a lazy git, but I often thought taking the floor side pedal off the pedal arm would make it fit better. Gaz
  11. 220 will be the EA888 TSI engine. There are plenty of explanations on the interwebnet to explain the differences between Tfsi and TSI. I quite like this one: https://vwtuning.co/volkswagen-tsi-vs-tfsi/ Gaz

Hello ACQPL It's over a decade ago now, but a Superb was my first Skoda, and what a great introduction to the brand it was 😎 Gaz

Hello ON1 It might be 11 years old now, but I think 2012 was a particularly good vintage 👍 Gaz
  14. Hello and welcome Kiwiana Gotta love a greyhound 😍 ....... and (cough) an Octavia of course 🙄 Gaz
  15. I'd echo Colin's points. Don't bother with a 4x4 if it's a want, rather than a need. Extra drive train weight, servicing costs and needs. Many posts on here of problems with haldex units where they've not been properly maintained. You really need to be doing (IMO) upwards of 20k miles a year to warrant choosing a diesel. My previous 2015 vRS was a mere 220. A stage one remap took it to north of 300bhp and made it a fair bit more sprightly. Gaz
  16. No need to be confused, the facelift has a very different front end - headlights being the most obvious: Gaz
  17. That’s a pre facelift model. Gaz
  18. Hello Eitherleader111 At 2015 it's more likely to be a TSI rather than a Tfsi Gaz

    Hello Bratze Gaz
  20. Hello BTandSid Gaz
  21. Hello MudBarf I use a mobility scooter too. It used to be a breeze getting it in my vRS Estate, and while it goes in the Golf, it doesn't exactly swallow it. So I'm considering changing back to an Estate, although a Roomster is a tickle I could definitely fancy Gaz
  22. I thought so too 😎 👍 G

    Hello Mick Gaz
  24. Hello Extonred In 2015 I bought my first new car - a DSG vRS Estate. Cracking car; hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine 😎 Gaz
  25. Hello Freddy Gaz
