  1. Cobblers 😬 Good opportunity to give the 'box a good bit o' spit n'polish though (Looking for a bright side). Gaz.
  2. Good morning and welcome Jake Gaz

My 2015 vRS was an Amundsen (MIB1) and has satnav. Further iterations of the Amundsen has it. I think there's difference whether it's in the actual unit or on a SD card (my Amundsen's was on a card) but you'll need wiser people than me for an accurate response. You'll get more footfall and responses if you post these type of questions in the specific car and infotainment sub forums too. Gaz

L&K are often brown. Cream and tan also available - my Superb was light tan, which made it a nice light, airy space. Gaz

My previous car was an Octavia Estate, and I agree, bags of room in the boot. Had a saloon Superb before that. I prefer a bigger engined car, hence choosing a vRS, but when looking before buying it, I'd pretty much had me heart set on a 1.6TDI, which was more than adequate in power output. Have fun in the dealers - simply sitting in the different models can be quite revealing in terms of personal preferences. Gaz
  6. Not ACC related then, and I'm forgetting LD's Superb is going to have the DQ200. Our 2015 Polo (192ps, DQ200) doesn't do it either. Curious. G
  7. Interesting Paul. My 2015 didn't, but your 2016 does. TSI vs TDI. Mine was MIB1, isn't yours MIB2? Have you got ACC? (my vRS didn't but the GTI does). Just wondering now about the what's, why's and wherefore's. Gaz
  8. My vRS didn't, but my GTI does. Same engine, same DSG. Feels a bit odd at first, but you soon get used to it. The GTI is also quicker at starting back up one the traffic in front starts to move off. Gaz
  9. Hello Don I did similar with my V6 Superb, which started to get signs of starting issues. Reckoned to most likely be the glowplugs, so I bought a set of six and put them in the glove box. It seemed the threat was enough to resolve the starting problems. Gaz
  10. Hello HMT Nice looking Mk2 FL Gaz

Not in Norfolk 😁 On a serious note, by all accounts the 1.0 is a punchy little number, so while it'd seem more suited to a much smaller car, it reportedly does okay. Load it up with five adults, luggage, a roofbox and go on holiday to the Peak District and I expect it might struggle a bit. Gaz
  12. I suppose anything Skoda is smaller than a Superb Estate 😁 What's your budget? What'll it be used for? Likely mileage? A Fabia with its seat up might be higher than a Clio. What about a Roomster? or a Kamiq? Gaz

  16. Not a complete runaway then if you can switch it off. It'll most likely need looking at by a VAG garage with appropriate diagnostic tools. Gaz
  17. A milestone worthy of this thread: Gaz
  18. Hello lc62 You'll probably get more responses if you post this in the Octavia II forum. Is it a petrol or diesel? Which engine? How many miles? Service history? Does it go past the redline - as in does it feel like it's a runaway? Does the accelerator pedal feel like it's sticking? When you say white smoke, are you thinking head gasket, or is it just normal condensation given the time of year and an over revving engine? Any mayonnaise - water in the oil or vice versa? Have you had it scanned for fault codes? Gaz
  19. Bonjour Sevi I do like it when friends from other countries apologise for their grammar, not realising it's better than some of us locals 🙂 No apology needed! Gaz
  20. OMG I remember lusting after a 130TC Abarth 😎 Just about one of the coolest cars (to me) at the time! Gaz
  21. Nah, single carb. Wasn't it the 1300GT that had twin SU's? Sadly, I was 16 & 17 years old when I had it. In my youthful exuberance, the difference between what I knew about cars, and what I thought I knew about cars was a gaping chasm, but it was a good learning curve. I learned things like you can get a floor pan through an MOT by pop riveting a plate from a galvanised water tank onto it, then using P.38 crafted to look like welding under underseal. I also put some heavy duty driving lights on (can't remember what they were - possibly KC Daylighters) and learned the value of relays, instead of melting multi-column switches. I filled the dash-pot with Red-ex because someone told me it was a good idea, and like an idiot I believed them, which is why it needed weekly topping up. I broke the rear subframe 'jumping' over the railway bridge at Doleham Halt, just outside of Westfield 🙄 It was used and abused. Felt like I had it years, but in reality I had a Mk3 Cortina by the time I was 18, so didn't have it much more than a year. Gaz
  22. Rose tinted glasses: Nice leather & walnut interior. Hydrolastic suspension that was actually quite nice. Reality: 155x13 crossply tyres A Subframe that was more rust than metal Needing to correct the timing and top up the SU's dashpot every Saturday Headlights so powerful you could overtake them Brake bands slipping like hell Drum brakes Misfires directly proportionate to how hard it was raining An oil leak that would put the Amoco Cadiz to shame Trying to not turn the heater blower on coz of the smell that something might've died in the pipework Manual choke that either raced or choked it to death - nothing in between Gaz
  23. 1972 Austin 1300 Van Den Plas - my first car: Gaz
