  1. Mate saying goodbye to his 89 year old 500 bhp Ford Tudor: Off to a new home and owner. I'd always marvelled that there was enough room between the tyres (ran at 18psi) for an axle and a diff. 😎 Gaz
  2. Hornet Mimic Hoverfly in our garden. Not sure that I've ever seen one before - quite the whopper: Gaz
  3. Better the devil you know. Gaz
  4. We went to Nymans, near Haywards Heath, this afternoon. I was watching bees busying themselves, and took this snap, which I quite liked: Gaz
  5. Certainly not a dealer only job. Straightforward enough for a relatively competent DIY’er. Gaz
  6. Knew I had a photo of my 1984 2.0 SGL somewhere: Gaz
  7. What tyres have you put on the front, and what's on the back? If you've got much improved grip on the front, and not so much on the back, that's not going to help. Gaz
  8. Maybe not in the true spirit of this thread, but it was canny. On our way up to RHS Wisley today on the M23, here's Mrs Gaz in her flash red Polo GTI, overtaking a silver Polo GTI - both GY65 reg. no.'s: Near relatives, if not siblings 😁 G
  9. We have great expectations of you Steve, the fate of this thread's essence is in your hands πŸ‘ We know you will succeed, we have faith 🀘 Remember, don't think, do! Victory will be yours, I sense a celebration will be ours 😎 Gaz
  10. Well well, looks like the V70 can partake of it: And it’s available at my local BP πŸ‘ Gaz
  11. What code scanner was used for the diagnostics? Not all scanners are equal What battery do you have, and how old is it? Gaz
  12. Presuming you have the DQ200 seven speed dry clutch DSG, this doesn’t sound good I’m sorry to say. Impossible to diagnose on a car forum, but it sounds to me like a mechatronic issue, or the accumulator failure (cracked casting) that’s quite common on the DQ200’s from this era. Better to take to a DSG knowledgeable workshop IMO, but a VAG dealer if needs must. No signs of leaking transmission fluid? Just to cover the simple stuff. Sorry to hear of your predicament - good luck with getting it fixed. Gaz
  13. Mrs Gaz has got Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6's on her Polo GTI, they've got quite good rim protection. Mrs Gaz still remains undefeated in the kerb assault operations though πŸ™„ Gaz
  14. Does this help? - looks like you might only need the chromed hinge corner piece: Appreciate it's a different style, but if your key blade isn't broken it looks relatively straightforward to me. Gaz
