  1. My rear wiper has dragged almost from day one. Looking at the rubber blade it is still soft and bendy, it seems there just isn't enough spring force holding it against the glass.
  2. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but there was a shortage of bio-ethanol in the UK that meant that the E5 petrol in the pumps was usually a lot less than 5% crop-juice, and often none at all. The labelling means that it may be up to that percentage plant-based.
  3. Even using the air-con hard can make a difference. It's up to you really, no need to bore yourself ****less in the left hand lane while trying to stay awake by doing mental arithmetic converting l/100km into mpg 😁 Personally I don't see any benefit in racing down the motorways, I don't have anything to prove and I'm not in a hurry usually. So happy to bimble along on the left trying to stay out of the way of lorries. Your mileage may differ.
  4. Yes I regularly get good ecomony out of my 2.0 TSI on a motorway run. I am happy to proceed at about 65 most of the time 👍
  5. Yes smoother progress if you can anticipate a bit, don't follow too close and therefore don't have to use the brake much in that stop/start traffic. OK then tiptronic M-mode. It's not theory, it's just what I do. Actually I have the "individual" driving mode set up as engine=eco and steering=sport just for motorways. But apart from the two situations of stop/start traffic and motorways, I don't find any other use for Eco mode.
  6. Yeh I think they'd be an MOT failure. Mine came with Hankok whatevers they are pretty much shot after 20k miles. Tiptoed through the winter 🙄
  7. If it was me I'd haggle with intent to buy. Consider what it'll cost you to get something you like as much.
  8. Yep similar to what my TDI VRS used to do. My 2.0 TSI (190bhp non-VRS) is averaging better at 45mpg reported
  9. Surely you mean "What, tyres??"
  10. Short answer is yes you can. Hope you weren't expecting a mahoosive woofer in the boot labelled "Canton", actually the woofer is what sits in that little box on the side 😱 You probably have the emergency inflating kit, which to be fair saves weight compared to a spare wheel. You can buy a space-saver spare wheel kit from various outlets.
  11. That issue sounds like the phone's power-saving feature is killing off processes when it thinks they are unused. There may be an option to prevent it in the power settings?
  12. It is the auxiliary passenger hand dryer.
  13. Don't forget that your new car could be possessed by demonic forces just as badly as your previous one was. Just sayin'
  14. I am potentially interested in a suspension upgrade. How do I find out what ARB or even what type of rear suspension I have?
  15. I use it in some stop-start traffic conditions it makes for smoother progress. The other use for ECO mode is motorway cruising but then I usually have the DSG in tiptronic so it doesn't coast
  16. If you're doing that mileage get a petrol one.
  17. I think you've answered your own question with "I really like the car". It will cost you money to change to whatever else you have to buy to replace it. Even if it goes mechanically wrong the saying "better the devil know" still applies.
  18. Actually I have come to terms with mine. If I tap for high-beam but they stay dipped, just tap it again to force high-beam. Pull to dip. When it's really not working I just turn the lighting switch from AUTO to ON, system reverts to manual high-beam/dip.
  19. Does it happen when you don't have your phone connected?
  20. I don't see a sticker for randomly placed apostrophes but I feel there should be one in there somewhere.
  21. There is a setting in AA that allows it to pair to a new car. Is this enabled?
  22. You can also get this through the Andoid Auto. F***ed if I know how to turn it off.
  23. I get the occasional false alarm from the front. But once or twice in the last 2 years it has alerted me to a situation when I was glad it did. And just the other week I had emergency braking while I was reversing into my tight driveway. To be far I was being a bit hasty about the manoeuvre. But it was a bit of a surprise and took me a moment to work out what had happened. Can you turn it off without informing your insurance?
  24. A simple reply to a simple question.
