  1. Are you able to use the BBC Sounds app? I'm curious to know if it works there, even if its not a good solution for you.
  2. Also it's useful info for the rest of us. Sometimes even new members use the search function to look for answers to the question they come here to ask.
  3. Tried it in mine with no luck - I have auto-dimming mirrors. Only thing I can add is that, after trying it, I get an error code for something like "unfeasible mirror position value" which I guess implies it is lacking the memory.
  4. Check the connection hasn't come loose before ordering any replacement parts.
  5. Never go back to an old flame. It may be a tempting proposition, but all the old problems still remain.
  6. They've reprogrammed your electrical gremlins in preparation for more evil antics
  7. Not 100% sure, but I believe the fuel usage display does not include the diesel used for DPF regens.
  8. Are you interested in only Octavia VRS models or are you including others?
  9. Mirrorlink is old and no longer supported by phones, it was replaced by AA. The car may call it Ml initially until you plug in a phone, but unless you are using a very old Andoid it will be running AA.
  10. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_and_parallel_circuits#Capacitors
  11. I think I get the same thing. The brakes seem to stick on at the rear when I first pull away from being parked up for a few days or more. Releasing with a small jolt and no further problem. I don't even know if the handbrake on these cars use the same caliper as the rear service brake, or if its separate. Didn't they used to have a top-hat shaped drum/disc at the rear where the central bit was for the handbrake and the disk was for the service brake?
  12. Concur. Built-in nav becomes obsolete once you have Android Auto, even more so if you live or work in a traffic zone.
  13. That "tyrereviews" video is possibly the funniest thing I've seen all year
  14. I have a 2019 SE-L with the front assist but no ACC. It was an (expensive) option. You may be able to get it as an upgrade but this may take some doing, more than a simple coding change.
  15. With the way the auto/override works, it would be better to have a more sensitive setting, so the full beam is turned off more readily.
  16. It's not perfect is it. Mine is similar. Think of it more of an assistant than a fully automatic system. It's there to help prevent complete numptys from blinding everyone all of the time.
  17. It does detect slow deflation, even over a very long time period.
  18. There is a setting in the AA app to allow it to pair to a new car. Check it is (still) enabled.
  19. I mean, mine does not have front assist or adaptive cruise control but it does have the collision warning thing, that I am sure uses the radar sensor/module. I may have misunderstood what features you had on your car.
  20. These cars have the radar module fitted for safety, but not "front assist" features, mine is the same. You do get some false alarms. But also it does work as intended. The Wanderer has had a saga with his demonically-possessed electrics.
  21. Holy bajeezus. So fixed price servicing doesn't really mean that - it's a limited offer. As if only £199 was a small amount of money. As long as you have a ramp and the VW siphon tube thingy it can't be more than 20 minutes work can it? By the way, that is not intended as an invitation to educate me on exactly what it does entail.
  22. Just yesterday I saw a Skoda UK fixed price servicing menu that put the DSG oil change at £199. IIRC
  23. I had mine slipping in 3rd gear yesterday. Only on very gentle throttle. I guess this is intended behaviour to make the drive smooth.
  24. Not noticed any issue with it, but I have the petrol 190HP and I tend to drive gently at low speed anyway. Did the VCDS setting have any effect?
  25. All right keep your hair on. I was respectful and gave you my opinion, without first resorting to wikipedia. I will go and educate myself again, but later. I have some real engineering to do first.
