Arrived at a local country park earlier and this (? Buzzard) dropped a squirrel right in front of the car! My camera was in the boot sadly so had to make do with Dashcam footage Sorry to report the squirrel didn't make it although a real privilege to see up close........... L_20240824180012_35~5.mp4

Sport Mode
Thanks for the explanation👍 I guess the 1.5 TSi hasn't got a deal extra to give which probably explains why I'd not noticed any particular difference, beyond the noticeable change in steering weight, between the modes.

Sport Mode
Would that be in the DSG model? In my 2023 manual 1.5 TSi 'sport', mode makes the steering heavier, but has no appreciable effect on performance. Similary 'eco' mode appears to have no appreciable impact on MPG (tracking MPG in my cars is a particular fascination of mine😀).

Rear Dash Cam woes…..
I lost DAB reception in my Karoq following installation of front & rear Road Angel dashcams. Interestingly the same cameras had no impact on DAB reception in either a Suzuki S-Cross or FIAT 500. I tried ferrite cores in the Karoq to no avail. My Auto electrician is of the opinion it's the WiFi network generated by the Road Angel Dashcam which interferes with DAB reception. Sadly there is no option to disable this.

Whatever the cause of the colourful Moon given local weather conditions I suspect it won't be putting in an appearance locally this evening 😕

Apparently tonight's Moon is 97.5% full (Waxing) and is 367,816.3 kilometers from Earth 🌛 The colour may relate to atmospheric pollution - stunning colour nonetheless!

We arrived just at the right time last night - no sunset to speak of, but the water was like glass. Lovely sky later too🌛

Online services
Seems especially pertinent since the online services for my Karoq ended after 1 year 😬 https://youtube.com/shorts/EzV0SnRlP7o?si=rAtRb8bSFC8aNzeS

Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
It's fair to say the Karoq has it's fair share of issues and 'fixes'! Have to say I'm dissapointed a mature platform such as the Karoq continues to suffer with these issues. Ours was a factory order, delivered March 2023.

Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
Looking back through documentation it had a new steering motor, followed by application of lubrication (TPI repair 2062129/5) and then most recently replacement of both front top mounts. The noise dissappeared following initial lubrication and then top mount replacement, but returned a short while thereafter. I plan to raise the return of the noise with the supplying dealer and will report back once I have an update👍

Using a roof top tent in a 2024 Skoda karoq sport line
Indeed - the inability to spec Varioflex in a Sportline was a consideration in my decision to go for an SE L. Although I did recently have cause to look at the Configurator and see Varioflex is an option on SE L, rather than standard.

Made what turned out to be an inspired decision to stop off at East Midlands airport on the way home today and were treated to seeing both a Supermarine Spitfire and a P51 Mustang in the air 👌

Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
Despite previous application of grease and subsequent replacement of both top mounts the noise has recurred! Currently considering the next step.

MIB3 map update
I updated mine manually (Skoda connect services expired a few months back) and after leaving a 64 Gb card connected (via USB C) the system now reports navigation database 24.7.
