Cubic Telcon - Paid internet add-on
A while back I considered paying up for a Cubic connection - but chose not to. The benefits I could see were… Roaming when in mainland Europe Combined with the car WiFi hotspot passengers could also get internet access through it. However, with the likes of Lebara and IDMobile including roaming at good value there was no need. Even with two or three passengers with their own SIMs it worked out cheaper than Cubic.

Possibility of change from my 2011 petrol Yeti DSG to a lower car ... e.g. an Octavia (in DSG Estate form)
In UK we can also use the All-In service plan to get an extra two year’s warranty, services, two MOTs and breakdown cover. Can be purchased for cars up to 6yo and less than 100k miles - so potentially up to 8yr warranty. Need to check Ts & Cs for the full details of the warranty cover though.

Just how reliable is the Mk iv ? Would you avoid.
It’s a 4.5 Merry Christmas…

There is probably some fancy coding buried somewhere but I’d take a look at the photos in the Mk4 Pictures thread - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/488077-skoda-octavia-iv-pictures-thread/page/4/ Mostly 4.0, but the last page or so are 4.5 The front end is subtly different, especially below the headlights. Note the VRS is different to other variants.

Long Life Servicing 2022 1.5TSI 150BHP
My 2020 1.5 tsi is on Longlife Service schedule which is 2years or 20,000 miles. I’m doing 16-18k miles a year and it’s happily running with 68k on the clock. Longlife oil is important, no, crucial. My last service was in February ’25 Screenshot from my Škoda app… I don’t have VCDS, though I assume it can be used to check/change settings - but make sure you have the correct oil before doing so. Also, I think the mileage element of the service due is variable, based on sensors in the engine. High stress/load then it might be shorter.

Octavia MK4 Stop/Start Settings
If yours is a pre-facelift model, then using the ‘Set’ switch on the left is a quick way to the Stop/Start option. Also, dragging down from the top of the screen gives access to Favourites, these can be setup to include the Stop/Start options. For post-facelift cars I understand there are ‘programmable’ virtual buttons on the infotainment screen - this based on what I’ve read, never driven one so can’t confirm.

[Help Needed] Octavia 4 (NX) 2021 - Rear Parking Assist Error. Cannot find the buzzer location.
In the mk4 I believe there are multiple buzzers/speakers involved. I say that because in mine the sound is from left, right or central depending on where the obstruction(s) is(are). Thus I think your issue may be a fuse or other single point of failure; also I wonder if the parking system actually uses the car audio speakers as the pitch of the alert changes as the car gets closer to the obstruction.

1.5tsi intermittent flat spots
The only thing that comes close to a misfire in mine is when it goes into 2-cylinder mode. The slightest of hesitation. It’s not every time; mostly notice it when the engine is under light load with ACC engaged, rarely at other times.

I agree. My September 2020 car, which I bought in March ‘21 with 2500 miles on it (ex demo), was back with dealer to fix issues on the conversion from km to miles and LHD to RHD problem with the ACC. Was with them for five months during which time I had a loan car and was tempted to reject my own. Only the fantastic rapport with my dealer saved the day; and 65k miles later I am very pleased I still have it. One of the best cars I’ve had - roomy, comfortable, huge luggage space, fabulous fuel economy and it looks good too.

The early Mk4s are a mixed bunch. Many teething issues fixed through s/ware updates and some h/ware replacements - all electronic components. A shame that covid shortages and perceived rush to market back in 2020 got in the way of an otherwise very good car. If the fixes are applied (Škoda shied away from what I would call a proper recall programme), they ARE a very good car, as my 5yo 1.5 TSI is proving to be. And yes, Petrol Blue is the best colour for the estate.

You could try checking online for the availability in your country, and by typing in your vehicle id number (VIN) Availability list

Poor Headlights
I’m curious! After 67k miles I remain impressed with the standard LED headlights in my 2020 mk4 Octavia. Makes me wonder if yours has a fault in some way (a failed diode or two? Faulty beam range adjuster? 🤷♂️).

2025 Octavia - High Beam Control (Light Assist)
That could make for an interesting conversation with either trading standards or advertising standards - expects you expected a feature that’s not there. There’s probably some small print that lets ‘em get away with it though.

2025 Octavia - High Beam Control (Light Assist)
According to the latest brochure (online) it is mentioned as standard on the Sportline, but not the SE L - so I guess you're lucky in that it is enabled. Treat it as a bonus while it lasts...

2025 Octavia - High Beam Control (Light Assist)
My understanding is that High Beam Control is a one-off purchase of £179. It looks like you have a free trial of it so I assume it will expire at some point soon.

Infotainment stop to sync user settings and MySkoda APP does not connect
As a workaround you could try connecting the car to your WiFi network.

Infotainment and phone.
I did a quick internet search - which suggested to check the settings for your iPhone Bluetooth connection for the car... Settings app --> Bluetooth Find YourCar (probably something like "My Skoda nnnn") and tap the 'I' symbol on the right Enable 'Sync Contacts'

Infotainment and phone.
Hmm… My iPhone is the same! I usually connect to the car using CarPlay and use Siri voice control to make calls. Yesterday I swapped it to connect as a Bluetooth phone - no contacts synch’d with the car. However, my wife’s iPhone I connected first as a Bluetooth phone and later as CarPlay. Contacts synch’d. When we are both in the car, my iPhone connects as CarPlay (the car automatically reconnects to the previous device) and my wife’s as Bluetooth - and re-synchs and updates the contacts. I assume, therefore, there is something in the infotainment system, the iPhone, or in CarPlay that is causing it. Did you previously connect the iPhone with CarPlay? If so, either just use CarPlay or get the car and iPhone to forget the CarPlay connection and start again as a Bluetooth phone, then re do CarPlay if you want/need it.

Waze and spotify - music stops or voice gets cut off
So that’s eliminated Waze/Spotify settings so must be an AA or car thing. Suggestions from @CS363 will hopefully help (I’m out of ideas now and can’t test anything ‘cos I use an iPhone). Good luck…

Waze and spotify - music stops or voice gets cut off
Just out of curiosity… … if you use Waze and Spotify without Android Auto do you experience the same behaviour?
