Infotainment Saving
Welcome to the forums, and your new car - good to hear you're loving it. What colour? IIRC, the Sync for the climate control can't be saved, which is frustrating, and for the mirrors I had to unlock the car with one of the keys, set the mirrors etc. then lock it with the same key. After that, using the KESSY seems restore the saved settings. Repeat with the other key for different settings. It took me several attempts and reading the user manual (& re-reading a few times) before I got mine sorted - perhaps says more about me though

Later Mk4 builds.
To provide a glimmer of hope, the loan Octavia Mk4 (1.0 e-Tec SE FE DSG Estate) I've been driving for a couple of weeks (and knocking on 850 miles) has been fine. From what I've been able to find out the build date was August 2020

KPH/MPH
So that is something else to look forward too when (if ever) I get my car back... Meanwhile, I'll enjoy driving the loan 1.0 eTec SE FE DSG loan car they gave me.. (just a shame it doesn't have half the toys on my SE-L FE) - the Octavia Mk4 is a nice car. So frustrating many have issues...

@Ajdude Shame the Superb is a bit too long, but hey ho! The loan car is a 1.0 e-Tec Estate SE First Edition, 70 plate. I’ve had it two weeks and covered about 700 miles, combination of local semi-urban driving and a few long runs on major roads and motorways. So far I’ve really enjoyed driving it (first time with DSG transmission after 40+ years of a manual ‘box) and it has been ‘gripe-free’ apart from one thing - using Waze with CarPlay the map display has stopped working when navigating a route, just get a white screen, voice instructions are OK though. When not navigating the map is displayed fine. Google Maps is fine when navigating, haven’t tried it with Apple maps yet. Waze used to work fine for about 10 days so it could be to do with the update cycles - I just did my iPhone to iOS 14.5 so maybe to do with that (Waze was updated a couple of weeks ago so it has worked OK since that update). Fuel economy has been pretty good in the loaner, at about 54mpg since I’ve been driving it. To be honest, if I hadn’t been spoiled by the toys/goodies in my SE-L FE (and splashed the cash for it) I’d be quite happy with this car. The 1.0 e-Tec has performed well so far with two people and a boot fairly well loaded (four-up and a rammed boot may be a bit much for long trips from Hampshire to the Highlands though!). Let me know if you have any specific questions/points and I’ll try to help out.

Understandable - though the loan Mk4 I have is working fine so they are not all bad. Contrary to several views expressed here, I live in hope of a fix one day. Though to be honest, I’m not expecting it within the next week… Instead of a Kodiaq have you consider Superb? My previous car was a 14 plate 1.4tsi which returned about 49mpg over the four years and 50k+ miles I drove it. Just a thought.

HAD ENOUGH
So good to hear you are enjoying your car and it’s working well for you. Most of the issues we’ve got are with early builds of U.K. market cars. Perhaps we should have ditched Brexit, started driving on the right hand side of the road and using Kms not miles 😂

Dashcam cable??
I’ve given up looking! Bought three different cables each purportedly 31cm or a bit longer - all too short. I’ve resorted to tucking the supplied 90cm cable behind the mirror. Falls down occasionally so need a little cable tie is the next ‘fix’

So sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved dog. A very nice touch from Kate & Skoda UK.

Is any Octavia MK4 without fault?
I’d say that the loan car I have (whilst mine is at the dealer for the KPH/MPH issue) is as close to being without fault as you’d get. The infotainment system sometimes feels a bit slow to load and that’s it. It’s a 70 plate SE 1st Edition 1.0 e-Tec DSG Estate

KPH/MPH
So far, it’s working fine. Covered about 250 miles in it so far, over several journeys. KPH/MPH is fine, no problem changing units. Infotainment system is a little slow to start up but never been an issue. CarPlay reconnects my iPhone automatically wirelessly. @Gax @fossman - no issue with screen not working. Only [non] issue is with me getting familiar with the DSG e-Tec 🙄 and picking up a stone chip on the windscreen!

KPH/MPH
I picked my car on 8th March (ex. Demo, 6 months from 1st registration) Reported the KPH issue to the dealer on 12th March, Honest John on 15th and Skoda exec office 26th. The car is back at the dealer, since 14th April; and i have a loan Octavia Mk4 SE 1st Ed; I’m awaiting a fix.

Planning to Tow With a New Car - BEWARE
Good to hear you have a definite way forward - good luck finding a suitable replacement

Front assist
I think that’s normal, the loan car (Octy 4 1.0eTec SE) I have does exactly that too. @just music you joke about driving into the garage door - my daughter did just that! Put it in 1st instead of reverse. I now have a CityGo shaped dent... 🙄

"Data transfer is currently set to..." message?
Yes, its in the User permissions setup. The more open you are with the permissions the more features become available, such as Parking Location in the smartphone app. From memory, it only displays this message if you save the S-PIN but can’t remember and my car is at the dealers at the mo.

Yep. usually clears within a few seconds, very occasionally can be up to about a minute.

Memory seats
That’s helpful. Thank you

Do you have both keys with the same user login or two users with a key each? I want to finish getting this set up when I get my car back.
-
Memory seats
Thanks. Mine is at the dealers at the mo - and I added this to the list of niggles & issues.
-
Cruise control and “mode”
So that’s different to the car I’m driving at the mo - so I can’t go and look at the settings (mine is at the dealers at the mo (kph/mph issue)) and I can’t remember the settings screens. Sorry about that. Hopefully some one on here will have the answer.

Cruise control and “mode”
Do you have ACC (a second stalk on the left side) or is it on the end of the indicator stalk?

@Gax that’s encouraging to hear. Will give updates as and when I hear something though not expecting it until Monday earliest.

New Software Glitch FFS!
Similar work experience to you. Testing now seems to be inconvenient and expensive to the developer/implementer. Also, that testing appears to have been limited to ‘does it do what it should do’ and excludes ‘does it not do what it should not do’. Independently devised test scenarios are a must.

Took mine in yesterday and the courtesy car is another Octavia Estate. A different spec - SE 1st Ed 1.0Tsi e-Tec DSG as opposed to my SEL 1st Ed 1.5Tsi manual. Timing could be a couple of weeks, or more. I was told Skoda UK want the dealer to run some diagnostics and submit the results - which will be correlated with results form other cars. Presumably with the expectation that a common factor will be found and lead to a fix.

KPH/MPH
In common with a few others on this thread, I’m taking my car in tomorrow. Will be there for a while whilst Skoda UK do some investigations. Here’s hoping for a positive outcome as I really like the car overall - just want rid of the annoying software niggles!
