Hill hold :- Is it possible to activate the facility where the brakes are held on when stationary until you drive off?
Surely, with DSG when you stop you keep your foot on the brake pedal until you want to set off? That's how it worked with my previous Fabia with DSG and with my current Kamiq DSG. Alternatively, you can select N when stopped and hold the car on the manual handbrake until ready to set off, then select D releasing the handbrake as you do so.

Brand new Skoda Kamiq Signature - Few queries
Pages 8 and 9 list all the warning lights and page 106 gives you more on what to do if the emissions light comes on and stays on or comes on when driving.

Brand new Skoda Kamiq Signature - Few queries
After you switch on the ignition, the system carries out tests on a number of items to check they are working. The warning lights for these items will go off automatically a few seconds after turning on the ignition if all is well. This applies to the emissions controls.

SOS went Ape
But the SOS module is more than a mobile 'phone in what it does. If your car crashes and the airbags are activated, the SOS module reports the incident and your vehicle's position direct to the emergency services, something you can't do if you're unconscious, for example, or you are in a "dead" spot for your mobile.

No dynamic indicators appearance in the LED Headlights
There iss a general shortage of semi-conductors for many industries, including the motor industry. This is partly the result of the Covid pandemic. As a result, car makers are having to spec cars according to what is available. So in this case, there will be no moving pattern of LEDs on the indicators towards the outside edge of the car, just on and off.

The 'A' Button on the centre console
With my 2020 Kamiq SEL, I received a driver's manual and there is also an extra version to download to cover some areas in more detail. As with any driver's manual, it covers more than you need, e.g. my car has Amundsen radio but the manual covers this and the Bolero. As cars are now built to order by computer in effect, I would have thought it should be possible to provide a manual tailored to the car being built. with no redundant pages annd no need for a download to fill in gaps.

Front Assist is unreliable
TCS is used to control wheelspin and is part of the ABS system. Front assist works up to 30kph according to the video here: It's certainly worked for me on a couple of occasions. Maybe distance settings for the activation of the system affect response. But in any case, the system is there to support the driver, not take his/her place. I

Skoda Kamiq 1.0 DSG experiment - fuel comsumption with Eco setting set for driver profile compare with Normal setting
My feelings but expressed more firmly. I do indeed enjoy driving my Kamiq, best car let alone the best Skoda I've ever had.

Skoda Kamiq 1.0 DSG experiment - fuel comsumption with Eco setting set for driver profile compare with Normal setting
I've been using E10 since last August when it first appeared at our local Sainsbury's and I have noticed no detrimental effect on fuel comsumption and would say, if anything, a marginal improvement, so I'll leave that research to someone else.

Skoda Kamiq 1.0 DSG experiment - fuel comsumption with Eco setting set for driver profile compare with Normal setting
I have no intention of basing my conclusions on a single journey and, as you will have noticed, the base data I am going to use for comparison is based on three return journeys and would have been more had I had made more data. I am also aware that there are many factors which affect fuel consumption, and I have highlighted one of them in my post - traffic congestion at the Humber Bridge, half an hour on one occasion and an hour on another - which certainly affected the fuel consumption adversely. I would also make the point that the figures for this journey are very much in line with fuel consumption figures for any journey of, say 50 miles and over in my experience of 10,000 plus miles with the Kamiq.

Skoda Kamiq 1.0 DSG experiment - fuel comsumption with Eco setting set for driver profile compare with Normal setting
I have had my Skoda Kamiq SEL 1.0 DSG since late June, 2020, and during that time have made the journey from Scarborough to Hunstanton four times when lockdowns have allowed. Three of those journeys were after I downloaded the Skoda app which saves a record of data for journeys and I thought it might be interesting to compare different driving modes, notably the Normal mode with the Eco mode, especially with the current high price of fuel. The route is some 175 miles, although we do sometimes vary it, e.g. if there is a particular place where we want to eat , but the very great bulk of the route is always the same, e.g. the variation adds maybe 4 or 5 miles to the distance travelled. Using the Normal mode over the six journeys (three there and three back), fuel consumption has varied between 52.3mpg and 56.4mpg and for all six journeys it has averaged 54.3mpg. In terms of direction of travel, the average fuel consumption for the outward journey has been 55mpg and for the return journey it has been 53.6mpg. I attribute the poorer fuel consumption returning to long queues at the Humber Bridge which has happened on two of the three return journeys. Our next trip down is coming up and so I have switched the driving profile to Eco to see what difference this makes. My understanding is that as well as start/stop and the "disconnect" between engine and gearbox used in normal mode, acceleration will be gentler with gear changes up being made sooner. I'll report back in the near future.

Just curiosity, DSG in sports mode more economic?
You're right about the engine size, I was thinking of my Fabia Estate which I had for 11 years; my Kamiq is 1.0. You are also probably right about S7 as I have only used S mode once briefly with the Kamiq and so was assuming it was the same as for the Fabia.

Changing driving mode on DSG Kamiq SEL
SOLUTION FOUND: 1. On the Menu screen tap on Driver Assistance 2. At he bottom of the screen click on the Settings icon - interlocked cogs 3. Tap ACC adaptive cruise control 4. Tap on Driver Profile and select one of Eco, Comfort, Normal or Sport Now, it would be useful to find a way to amend the title to indicate a solution has been found. Maybe a Moderator could do this?

Changing driving mode on DSG Kamiq SEL
That's what I thought, but pressing the button just appears to deactivate or activate the start/stop system.

Changing driving mode on DSG Kamiq SEL
Thank you for your reply but I was referring to changing the driving mode which controls the electronics of the engine, eco, comfort, normal, sport or individual.

Changing driving mode on DSG Kamiq SEL
I took delivery of my Kamiq SEL DSG in June, 2020, and at some point found out how to change the driving mode. However, for the life of me I can't find out how to do it now, and the manual doesn't help much. If anyone can help, I'd be obliged.

Just curiosity, DSG in sports mode more economic?
The eco mode disengages the engine from the gearbox on the level and not just going downhill. In fact, it will even disengage the engine going uphill. It works by sensing whether the accelerator or brake pedal is being pressed I think. Using S mode, you only have gears up to 6th available so 7th, the most economical is not used. That plus S mode holding gears to higher revs means S mode is going to be less economical. My 1.2 SEL will turn in 40mpg plus on a three mile run from cold on a winter's day with careful use of the eco mode.

Cleaning the white bits on the seats
Salt water usually removes blood stains from fabrics, although suede I have no experience of. However, the longer the blood has been dried, the less effect the treatment may have.

Kamiq Mirrors, improving the view.
Well, that's their problem.

Is 55mph slow moving traffic? I doubt it.
-
Kamiq Mirrors, improving the view.
There is no Act of Parliament or statutory instrument specifically making it illegal to overtake on the left, but The Highway Code states "do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake". Two exception are 1. when overtaking a vehicle signalling a right turn and 2. when on a multi-lane carriageway in slow moving traffic and the left hand lane is moving faster than the lane or lanes on the right. However, notice must be taken of any road signs or road markings that would prevent this. There are other exceptions, notably on a motorway where gantry signs are showing "Stay in Lane". However, depending on the circumstances, if overtaking on the left leads to an accident, the driver may be prosecuted for careless driving.

Kamiq Mirrors, improving the view.
Quite, but the topic appeared to be drifting into a more general discussion and surely no one should be overtaking you on the inside, unless you are, say, in a turn right lane and the car overtaking you is going straight on?
-
Kamiq Mirrors, improving the view.
I always understood that you pulled in from overtaking when you could see the radiator of the vehicle you had overtaken in your interior rear view mirror.

Yes, the dealer can update software by downloading it while the car is in for service.

Lane assist is dangerous
There is a link between the two as your post of 4th October nicely illustrates, but the comments seem to have drifted well beyond that link and, yes, I have a car with lane assist, see my post of 3rd October.
