  1. On my 2020 SEL, moving a rear vent towards the centre of the car closes the vent and moving it towards the outside of the car opens it. Movement up and down directs the airflow.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, I have specified Imperial in the Skoda app, and in the latest journey figures it uses these, but in the daily/weekly/monthly figures, it gives the correct mpg, for example, but says it's in US gallons.
  3. I think your penultimate sentence is the clue. Check to see if you need to accept/allow foriegn destinations when in the UK.

I find the Skoda Essentials more useful. For a time there were connection issues which seemed to disappear after the new Skoda app appeared. The Essentials I find is quicker to load and gives more information. 1. Maybe a minor point, but it says whether windows are closed (my car has all electric), the Skoda app doesn't. 2. Essentials shows individual journey stats and you can go back in time through these. The app (so far as I can make out) shows stats for a journey at the end of it, but when you look at daily stats, they show an overall figures for mileage etc. 3. The app uses US gallons for stats even though at the end of a single journey it shows them correctly in UK gallons.
  5. Yes, but it is stated in the handbook that in heavy rain/spray the front sensor may be deactivated and I imagine that it is possible that water droplets on the sensors might distort their operation.
  6. Not necessarily. If something has been obscuring the sensors or distorting their view, this may have cleared between one journey and the next.
  7. I've had this happen in heavy rain which has obscured some/all of the sensors. Maybe washinbg the car has washed dirt in and around the sensors, so maybe a gentle hose down paying special attention to these would clear them problem. A garden sprayer might be the answer.
  8. My thought entirely.
  9. The question that comes to mind is "Why?"
  10. Presumably the specification has changed since 2020.
  11. 5: Select Right Hand Travel for travelling on the Continent and most countries abroad.
  12. 3. Select Light: 4: Select Travel mode and tap the down arrow:
  13. This is the drill on my 2020 Kamiq SEL with LED lights Select Vehicle: 2. Select Settings:
  14. Is there anything in the manual on driving abroad? I remember with my 2020 SEL there was the hardcopy manual which came with the car and also an electronic downloadeable version which covered topics not in the hardcopy one.
  15. You need to remember that a large chunk of the price you pay to buy is tax of one sort or another.
  16. I've had a Fabia with the DSG box (90,000miles) and now a 2020 Kamiq SEL (23,500miles), both 1ltrs, and found the gearbox excellent.
  17. Tyres are Good Year F1s. Tyre tread at 23,000 miles, according to the garage at service are right front 4.3mm, and rears 5.3mm and 5.8mm. I've excluded left front as that is a new tyre following a puncture.
  18. Hanhooks not originals. My Skoda SEL, 20 plates, and now 23,000+ miles I'm pretty sure has Good Years, three still originals and one a replacement after clouting a kerb to avoid an HGV which decidedto drive on my side of the road. Just had a service and only comments are on rear disks described as "lipped and corroding" and suggested to me to have them replaced in next 12 months. However, corrosion is only surface and probably due to seaside air and wet summer and winter. I'll check on the tyres and let you know make tomorrow, Monday.
  19. Thanks, Peter, I'll follow that up with the right front vent.
  20. Whether you hear the vibrations, rattles or squeaks in your car depends, amongst other things, on your hearing. A year ago, I was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss in my left ear and profound hearing loss in my right ear. Hearing aids sorted the problems out but I then noticed a couple of noises in my mid-2020 Kamiq I hadn't noticed before but presumably had been there all the time. One noise is from the seatbelt attachment point on the door pillar on my side, another from the area around the right most air vent on the dashboard, both intermittent and the latter tends to be weather-related and disappear during a journey. I try to ignore both but if they become irritating, I just put the noise filter on on my hearing aids.; some day, I may try and sort them out.
  21. Apologies, I seem to have lost track of the conversation here and thought you had gone for one of these tyres with a maximum speed limit of 50mph, which is a real pain if you have to drive any distance outside town.
  22. Except when you have a puncture or a wheel damaged.

But the experience of hesitation setting off by some people suggests not, and it did not occur with my A Class Merc.

I understand that with DSG you can get the car to adapt to your driving style. I find that lifting my foot off the brake pedal is usually followed by the car beginning to move before I put my foot on the accelerator.
