What pressure were the other three tyres, or didn't you check them? If the front right tyre has a slow puncture, then eventually this may set off the low pressure warning. I've had a number of false alarms over the years with my Fabia and Kamiq when going over an uneven bit of road at speed, e.g. an expansion joint on a bridge.

Glad to be of assistance. Sutton Bank gave me my best mpg with the Kamiq, starting from the top to the Cedar Barn Farm Shop just short of Thornton-le-Dale an mpg of 67.3, mind you, from the top of Sutton Bank to Helmsley was all in "disconnect" mode so engine revs were never over 1,000.

My Kamiq is a 2020 SEL, 1.0 DSG and is a follow up to my 2011 Fabia Elegance, also a 1.0 DSG, both of which have proved excellent (I had the Fabia for 90,000+ miles). Very quiet in use, good economy (I recently got 58.8mpg on a 43 miole drive, including climbing the steep side of Sutton Bank). Economy, too, is consistent with 52-54mpg being normal for any run of some distance, e.g. home to York at 44mpg. About town and on short journeys, economy still good, e.g. a five mile run at 43.4mpg. Driving is mainly local but with longer forays, time and health permitting to Norfolk from Scarborough. However, driving is usually me or me and my wife, so I can see the 1.5 being better with three teenagers up.
  4. What's a clutch?
  5. Going back to medieval times, two basic rules of heraldry were do not use gold/yellow on silver/white or silver/white on gold/stroke yellow for the same reason.
  6. As someone who lives on the coast - half a mile from it and about 200ft above sea level - I can assure it is not a red herring, salt air adds to any problem of rust even if it may not be the primary cause.
  7. On my SEL 1.0 DSG Kamiq, it is not often that the stop/start comes into operation, usually in town traffic after a longish run. However, I have noticed that the start operation can take place without me removing my foot from the brake pedal. For example, when stopped at traffic lights in a queue if I operate the turn indicator, the engine restarts, presumably because of the drop in voltage brought about by the turn indicator operating bringing the alternator into use. This would also explain why opening the driver's door restarts the engine
  8. Interestingly, if the driver's door is opened when the ignition is switched on and the engine is not running, there is a warning sound for this too, plus a message display.
  9. I live on the north Yorkshire coast and on my now three and a half year old Kamiq SEL 1.0 DSG with about 22,000 miles on the clock I have noticed minor rusting on the rear discs at times. The answer I find is to drive slowly with the brakes lightly on to clear the rust for a short distance, and if rust is a problem I drive the few hundred yards to the main road doing this to clean the discs for a few days when taking the car out. Recently, much more of my driving has been in town and I have noticed that the rear discs are bright and shiny with no sign of rust without using the "driving with the brakes lghtly on" method being used.
  10. But what does that include? When I followed this route in 2020, the spare wheel came with jack, etc. and a tyre. You write of a spare wheel and if that's what you buy, you'll also need a tyre to go with it and a jack too. Is the dealer offering you just a spare wheel a whoile package.
  11. See your local Skoda dealer.
  12. Ah, mine is a DSG.
  13. With stop/start, removing your foot from the brake pedal restarts the engine. Also, the engine appears to restart if the volts on the car drop, so opening the driver door and so activating the interior lights would possibly set off the bongs.
  14. And my 2020 SEL has exactly that.
  15. That is certainly true of my Kamiq, especially when drive is disconnected.
  16. They were indeed and the open sports car fans said they wouldn't wear seatbelts because it was safer not to as in the case of an accident the y would be thrown clear of the car before it burst into flames. (Statistical note: very few car crashes result in a vehicle bursting into flames.)
  17. It's also a requirement in the USA and appears to be tied in with, initially automatics, and so may have started there. A child or animal left in the car with the engine running could conceivably knock the auto selector from the park position to D or R seems to be the reason. But anyone who leaves a car with the engine running and unattended is just asking for trouble, if only from someone jumping in and drivng it off. If that happens, then your insurance is invalidated.
  18. Youi did what you could and that's all anyone can ask of you.
  19. The Skoda sat nav, certainly on the Amundsen, shows holdups and takes you on alternative routes to avoid them where this is quicker.
  20. I have an SEL 2020 model and on the central display if you touch the vehicle icon/image, that brings up an option to set your choice of display. So long as the ignition is on, you don't need the engine running. As regards using the buttons on the right of the steering wheel, my experience is that they seem to do something different every time I use them!
  21. If you're doing something such as closing the garage door while the car is outside with the engine running, just close the driver's door or turn the engine off. I can't immediately think of a reason to regularly leave a car with the engine running and the driver's door open.
  22. But if I remember correctly, the instruction manual says it does not detect slow punctures.
  23. The TPMS operates when there is a sudden deflation of a tyre compared with other tyres, so it doesn't monitor slow punctures, for instance, although it will spot the difference once the difference between the tyre with the slow puncture and the other three is noticeable. The system isn't foolproof, however. For example, I have had a cuple of false alarms which seem to be related to uneven road surfaces, If this happens a number of times, ask the dealer to check the TPMS sensors settings. Interesting about that little rattle as that appeared on my 2020 Fabia recently with 20,000 plus miles on the clock. Intermittent and doesn't last long before disappearing.
  24. I have a stowage box under each of the front seats of my 2020 SEL, but they slide out from the front of the not the back. They don't hold much either, certainly less than the similar layout on my 2011 Fabia.
