Vrs fuel type
Good video with a lot of helpful info. In reality, not a lot to choose from for the different high octane fuels for a highly tuned engine. What the tester doesn't mention is the composition of the fuels. Shell, BP, Esso etc use the same base fuel as Tesco and the other supermarkets, but extras are added to help clean the fuel system etc. This helps to explain the extra cost. Personally, I will use supermarket for several weeks and then put a tank or two of Shell in to clean the pipes etc.

MK3 245 vrs reliability? Skoda still quality?
It's great with some care. Too aggressive with the throttle and both front wheels will let go and you're heading for the other side of the road.

Android Auto Connection Issues
I had the same problem and found that if you twist the cable a few times before plugging into the phone it applies enough pressure to keep the connection improved. Not a permanent fix but better than nothing. I also found that the connection eventually fails to connect at all. The only solution is to reset the infotainment unit.

Diagnosis problems
After selecting Car, there should be the start/stop info symbol on the screen, select that.

Diagnosis problems
You can check the stop start status in the infotainment system. It'll show you the reason it is not working.

My new 2019 Octavia VRS 245.
That's the normal VRS Modes. 👍👍 DCC is for the damper settings only. I have individual set to everything normal except for DCC which is set to comfort. If I switch to sport. Everything changes. I have also killed the sound generator as it's rubbish.

DCC is dynamic chassis control. Settings are comfort, normal or sport. Not really tried sport yet, no idea how much difference it makes. Comfort very good at taking of the rough edges of UK roads.

My new 2019 Octavia VRS 245.
I ordered a 245 in 2019 and went full old man kit, 18s and DCC. A pretty good ride in Comfort.

Front Assist not working?
Try cardboard boxes. At least if you're going to hit one, it'll collapse.

How to add more music tracks
I have a 200GB SD card with nearly 6000 files at 124GB in total. All the files are FLAC and have no issues. Maybe your SD card or transfer method is causing the issue. Good luck.

What should we do about our Octavia?
Is it worth paying the extra for a car where you know it's history? I'd haggle with them but if the car hasn't had any issues then the extra could be worth it. Happy deciding. 😀😀👍👍

Tyre Pressures
How does it do this? There is no facility to record pressures. If all 4 tyres lost pressure at the same rate the system wouldn't show a fault.
-
Accurate Tyre Pressure.
Good point for older tyres. From my own experience, newer tyres will last much longer before the tyre pressure drops. Perhaps that's down to new wheels and better manufacturing processes. If consistent pressure is important, say for track days, then nitrogen is the way to go.
-
Accurate Tyre Pressure.
The reason for using nitrogen is that the pressure doesn't change with a change in temperature.

Engine failure
True, but the term "cam safe" is good for non-technical people and a marketing phrase
-
Engine failure
Some of the engines were "cam safe" and would survive a belt fail. I had several Cavaliers through the 80s and had a single failure. Only damage was the oil pump. I seem to remember that the clutch could be changed without separating the engine and gearbox - very clever.
-
Accurate Tyre Pressure.
In my experience, electronic gauges tend to be the most accurate. Gauges attached to foot or electric pumps should only be used as a guide as they are built to a cost.

Speed restrictor
Sorry, I thought they were discussing Skodas
-
Speed restrictor
168 MPH is a good speed but I wonder if any of the cars had aero tweaks. When I did 155 MPH, the front end was getting light and, although the car was still slowly accelerating, I gave up when the car drifted into the inside lane on a slight left bend. Very interesting at that speed!! The quoted top speed for the car was 150 MPH and the car felt good at that speed.
-
Speed restrictor
Based on my experience with my previous VRSs. The quoted top speed is less than the speed the car will actually achieve. My first VRS was a MK2 F/L (200PS) and it reached 149 MPH, my second was a MK3 pre-F/L (220PS) and reached 155 MPH. The speeds reached were GPS speeds so more accurate than the speedo. The runs were on the Autobahns in Germany. TBH, at 155MPH I was to busy to look down at the speedo. I now have a F/L 245 and my better half said," No we are not going to Germany!!" So I won't get to test it. 🙂 As the 245 is quoted at 155, it is entirely possible it will hit 160ish and I suspect that there isn't any real need for a speed limiter. I'm happy to be proved wrong.
