  1. Presumably you had a test drive before purchase? Was the test car different?
  2. Yep been there and done that. Reasons were similar-ish in as much as we found we had more than enough to cope with with my youngests epilepsy and other issues and couldn't risk another kid with a similar condition that at that stage we thought was genetically inherited. My wife had also had two difficult pregnancies and births. In terms of the op it was all quick and easy just a little weird with the smell of cauterising (think burning yourself with a soldering iron) and some numbness and bruising after. It did take a while to get an 'all clear' though... In terms of 'emotions' it was good to have it done and remove the thoughts in the back of your mind about stuff... So good in that repect but otherwise no great shakes or difference as our concerns were and are different to yours.
  3. Got a friend who's just purchased a Corsa-e over the e-208.. just waiting for delivery. Would be interesting to compare notes George.
  4. That's 'cos your body then acts as a big aerial to transmit the signal from the fob in one hand to the door in the other... However, the best method I've found is place the transmitter on your chin and press the button...
  5. In my experience they'd better ban most Audi's from the roads then - some of their rear lights (especially Brake Lights) are blinding (even more so when in a low vehicle such as my MX-5...)
  6. If you've got low voltages around the car have you checked all the earth straps
  7. Not sure about anyone else but I'm loving the look of the Cyan Racing P1800... https://www.cyanracing.com/news/2020/09/02/revealing-the-volvo-p1800-cyan

Not good... Some people don't seem to be able to control their posts or realise the effect they can have...

Doh... Another one leaving because they've had enough of the animosity?

Ah I see... There's about a dozen on the first three or four pages that are 1.4 boosterjet allgrip autos from what I can see but all will be pre reg as all Suzuki's are now mild hybrid iirc. For info I have a swift hybrid and it really is an excellent system and a great little car...

  12. Useful to know as we regularly fill the Octy boot when travelling as my daughter is on a medical diet so we have to take the vast majority of her food with us as well as medication etc...
  13. A lot of newer cars don't even have a gauge - just a blue light on the dashboard for 'cold' and a red one for 'too hot'...
  14. That's exactly our concern at the moment and is one of the things (amongst other wider lifestyle issues) that's holding us back swapping 2007 our Octavia 4x4 for a Kodiaq or Karoq - we know the risks and issues around diesels / DPF's and short journeys / pollution etc. so petrol 'should' be the way to go... but having driven turbo-diesel's since 2001 we're worried we'd miss the easy torque and load carrying ability...
  15. I would guess the 'Troll' comment, along with the 'low technical knowledge' one was directed at me... ;-) Water off a duck's back though as far as I'm concerned as history has indicated our friend can be rather abrupt and does seem to have a chip on his shoulder at times... Good luck to the OP getting the issue fixed! You have the diagrams / wiring colour codes and switch / light / (and presumably) relay locations so should hopefully be able to trace with a multimeter.
  16. Says the man who was argumentative with others earlier in this thread... So hypocritical as usual! Cheers!
  17. errr... I think the picture tells all. I trust you'll be apologising to your fellow Briskodians?
  18. Sounds reasonable and understandable re the mud. Was more thinking an older 4x4 with the raised suspension that's only 17mm lower than the scout but the mud thing would still rule it out.
  19. If your looking at an outback it begs the question what about an Octy Scout or 4x4
  20. Can you not wedge the original cap under a nearby pipe or piece of bodywork when open..???... That's what I do with my mkii

Usually significantly less as the main noise generator is usually tyres. Also I understand that a number of third party suppliers are looking at rather clever noise cancelling systems to reduce even further the need for sound deadening (eg using roof linings and body panels as large 'speakers' to cancel out other noise generators)
  22. Mitsubishi Shogun??? Got a mate with a LWB one that he wheels out over winter instead of his 5 series touring and he swears by it. Solid mechanics and old school. Plus they'll be dirt cheap shortly when Mitsubishi pull out of the UK market. An alternative to the Shogun is the eclipse cross, which has a bit more style and can also be had in 4 wheel drive
  23. Yeah - I guess so - the market is 'elsewhere' these days... Have you seen the latest 7 series in the flesh - it's almost like they grafted this wierd squared off, big grilled front onto the old body - it's a total mis-match... Mind you it's probably good for 'scaring' other drivers out of the offside lane of the motorway - you see that coming up in your rear view mirror and just want it past and out of sight!
  24. Both the car and colour schemes will appeal to a certain section of society no doubt - probably footballers, z-list 'celebrities' or those with more money than sense that want to say 'look at me!'... The rest of us will just laugh at them and be sick in a corner at the sight of them. I've probably said it be fore but BMW 'design' is terrible at the moment in my opinion... and Adrian van Hooydonk has to take a lot of that blame... I was hoping Domagoj Dukec might change a few things but it appears he won't as he was one of the main protagonists with respect to responding to the desire to 'stand out' and has been instrumental in the ungainly maw on new BMW's.
  25. Agree... That front end is still hideous
